I’m too dark for her light.

I am who I am, and I won’t apologize for it.
I don’t know how to be...
Normal.

I have my reasons.
I've been through hell.
I've touched the flames themselves and I've danced with the devil.
Intimately.

Damnation torched my soul until it was black.

Then I see her.
I'm enthralled, but I can't speak to her.
She's too pure.
Too fragile.
Too innocent.
She doesn't need to see my torched soul.
She doesn't need to taste my damnation.

I watch what I can't have.
I swear I'll protect her.
Even if she doesn't know I'm there.
I get more...
Enthralled.

She loves books.
I wonder if I could love them too.
She loves wine.
I imagine us sharing a glass.

Imagination. What a tease.
Enthralled. Entranced.
Obsessed.

She feels me there.
Sees me out of the corner of her eye.
I'm the reason the hair on the back of her neck is standing up.
But I stay in the shadows where I belong.

Until I can't.
Until the day I see her cry.

Those tears feel like open wounds.
I want to heal them.
But all she does is run.
So I follow.

Enthralled.
Entranced.
Obsessed.
RUTHLESS.

I won't stop until she no longer has a reason to cry.
Even if it means I have to ride through the fires of hell one more time.

I can now see why Tongue is everyone's fan favorite. I just jumped on the bandwagon, and hell, I fell down the deep Abyss. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I only wish I jumped on the bandwagon earlier.

My god, Tongue's backstory is so tragic, and I couldn’t stop crying throughout the book. I mean, I have read some horrible, tragic pasts, but something about Tongues just really got to me.

Tongue is The Ruthless Kings brutal enforcer. His family doesn't know his secrets except for his best friend. One day he spots Daphne and is obsessed from day one and be does way he does best. He lurks in the shadows and stalks her. Our girl Daphne is one smart cookie; she can feel him and is smitten with him from day one.

Is he obsessed to the point it is unhealthy? Yes, does he care? No. She is his light to his dark and brings a side of him out that no one has seen.

I love her intensely, unhealthily, obsessively, dangerously, and to the point where it fucking hurts.

He is unhinged, and you can't predict what his next move is, but when he loves, he loves with everything he has. It’s beautiful, to be honest.

Here is the part where I usually roll my eyes a virgin heroine; yes, I know it drives me nuts. But this is the best part. So is Tongue. How can a biker be a virgin? Trust me read the book. You will understand. Don't worry; their chemistry is sizzling hot.

I was waiting for Reaper to lose his shit throughout the book. He came close a few times. And we have cameos from some of our favorite bikers.

Now I need to binge read the rest id the books.

I think Tongue is inspired by Joker in Suicide Squad. The idea of two broken, mental health issue characters can find peace in each other.

Miss Savage done wonderful job bringing Tongue to live. His past is horrific and heart breaking. What I do not like is the turninv point for Tongue toward Daphne. Half of the book promising angst and sorrow, then it flipped to menacing. Weird....

I still enjoy the book with the sarcastic joke from Miss Savage. Overall this is a wonderf read.

I have not read any of the other Ruthless Kings MC books before reading this one, so I will not review beyond what I just read, and focus solely on Daphne and Tongue’s love story and the plot depicted in this one

“Daphne doesn’t hold the missing piece of me. She is the missing piece.”-Tongue

There is this thing that I absolutely love about unhinged main characters, and it’s how passionate they are portrayed when they find their obsession. The stalking phase is always my favorite; I love the longing and the desires building up (because this is when I can feel all those conflicting emotions that I look forward to when reading this type of books). But when the hero and heroine finally get together, I’m always a little bit saddened about the fact that the stalking will stop. And from there, for me, it can quickly go uphill or downhill, depending on how the author keeps me interested in the story…

In this case, I felt that, at the 65% mark, I lost a little bit of interest due to the very sudden change in Daphne’s behavior. Don’t get me wrong, I liked how good she was for Tongue, but I was a little bit upset at the fact that she lost her sweetness. I loved the contrast they had at the start of the book, where Tongue was the darkness while she was the light. I just felt like the sudden change in her personality kind of ruined that dynamic in a way. I think I can understand why it was done this way, but I just wish that it had been better hinted so the transition would’ve been smoother to make more sense.

“I’m an endless abyss of black space and she’s a comet, soaring through my skies. She’s a rarity. And she’s mine.”-Tongue

As for Tongue, I really liked the way he was. He was a psycho, but a cute psycho when he was stalking Daphne. I loved the fact that he had a stutter when he felt overwhelmed, it really added to his charms, giving him a sort of vulnerability in a way. All of his emotions were raw, and that’s why I think he was the best part of this book.

“I love her intensely, unhealthily, obsessively, dangerously, and to the point where it fucking hurts.”-Tongue

Like I said, the last 35% of the book was a little bit of a letdown. It felt kind of rushed and didn’t make a lot of sense in certain parts. Maybe I’m just missing pieces of the plot because I haven’t read the other books before this one, but this is how I felt. The ending left me unsatisfied and for this particular reason, paired with the sudden change in Daphne, I dropped the rating a tiny bit.

Overall, a pretty solid and enjoyable book. The ending was a little bit unsatisfying for me, so good thing there are two more books following this couple.

Note: Tongue's friends are absolute trash, and I haven't forgiven them. And yes, I even disliked Sarah. She can shove that bottle she threw at him right up her balloon knot...

Wow, this book was amazing.....it had all my favorite tropes! Stalking, obsessed OTT H, book loving virgin h, a virgin H! KL Savage was able to take two people who you wouldn't think would work and have them fall in love with all their perfections and scars. It was beautiful. And the way he calls her his comet and the reason. It made my heart melt in a little puddle. LOVED THIS book!

Holy Smokes I have no idea what I just read

This book was just all messed up… But one thing I learned is that never judge a book by its cover, lol.

I have read some of the previous books and I actually enjoyed it. If you into that Dark MC Romance stories. I never would have thought that Tongue would have his own romance story. But here it is.
From the moment he saw Daphne in the bookshop he was her slave. He was obsessed with her and just wanted to be with her. But then he wasn’t the only one who was watching her!!!

Daphne comes across as this sweet gentle nerdy bookshop girl. But damn she was perfect for Tongue. Once they got together she accepted him just the way he was. All crazy and messed up and underneath her sweet exterior there was another dark messed up person.

This book was all messed up and totally crazy. Tongue kind of scared me right through this whole book. But if you read this book you will find out exactly why he is the way he is. He had a horrific childhood and I wanted to kill his Uncle myself. But I loved that he found someone who made him feel loved and made him feel like he could be himself no judgement. And man I can’t wait for them to find this Groundskeeper… That is going to be Hectic….

Like I said if you love MC stories, If you love Dark Romance then this is the book for you. I can’t wait to read more and see who’s story is next.

I thought this would be my jam since it's double virgins, but I just couldn't.
There is no connection between the leads. Absolutely none.
The book also seems to draw heavy inspiration from Tillie Cole's Souls Unfractured. The similarities were glaring. Not very nice...

I’m a day late coming to the party for this release but it’s all KL Savage’s fault!! See, in mid-November (ish), she went and put a boxset together of the first 4 (but really 5) stories of the Ruthless Kings and when I went to put up my review for it because I’ve read every word of this club, I got distracted and a binge-read ensued. Ask me if I put my review up for the boxset yet? I mean … why? Why am I so extra? So yeah, now I’m tardy. I regret nothing. The Ruthless Kings are an intense bunch. When you read their stories, you’ll feel that, but when you binge-read them, it is a mind-blowing experience of epic proportions. It wasn’t my first time around, so of course I knew the who/what/when/where of things but the intensity is in the details and some of that was like I was reading it for the first time!

holy mother of all balls!! *blink* *blink*

But let’s get to Tongue right quick here. This guy, Jesus, someone give him some candy. GAWD he deserves some rainbows and gumdrops! So obviously you can tell his history is … dark. No, it’s not just dark, it’s brutal and savage and just … a lot. This book is emotional on all levels. I was all over the place in my feelings. IT IS DRASTIC and not for the faint of heart, but if you’re reading this, them I’ll assume you’ve already read some if not all of the Ruthless Kings so you’re not surprised by my revelation. I just need to emphasize, it is a lot LOL Then Daphne skipped right in and ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. Jesus Christ on a cracker this was a crazy ride.

Listen, there is no way I can tell you anything about what happens in this story because if I say one thing, then ten others have to be said and before you know it, the entire plot is unfolded and no one wants that. This story is heart-breaking in its intensity. KL Savage created two people that on the surface no one would see coming but they are the light and darkness they both crave. That’s all I’m telling you. Happy reading! (grab some tissues and maybe a Xanax martini before you begin)

Blatant copying of another author's work! Sorry but to take characters and work from any author isn't okay! Do these author's not realise readers willl have read the books they took from?! And as a result think they are not worth reading!

There are several big problems with this book and the writing, but the biggest one is that Tongue is a blatant rip off of Tilly Cole's character Flame, in her Souls Unfractured book.

I tried to stay objective when I wrote this review, saying he seems to me to be very similar, but the more of the book I read, the more I wrote this list below, the more the blatant copying couldn't be ignored. The character Tongue is literally Flame from Tilly Cole's Souls Unfractured books and so many s eyes are literally copied and pasted.list below.

1. Flame and Tongue were both sexually abused, beaten & tortured by a male relative.

2. Both have zero interest in anything but knives, and the line 'I pull out my knife and stroke it with my fingers, it calms me' is a direct line from Flame's thoughts in Tilly Cole's book

3. Both get most of their body covered in tattoos because of what was done to them and the entire reason Flame is called Flame is because of the flames he feels burning his skin and which only Maddie calms. It is copied into here with the heroine talking about the flames burning Tongue's skin and him saying how only she calms them.

4. The crying scene is also taken directly from Tilly Cole's book when Flame doesn't understand he is crying, or where the water hitting his hand is coming from. Here Tongue has that exact same crying incident.

5. The scene when Tongue is held down by his brothers and has a flash back to his abuse, is the same scene as when Flame's brothers have to hold him down and he has a flash backs to his abuse.

6. The scene when Tongue makes her cut him during sex is again exactly the same as Flame in Souls Unfractured when he asks Maddie to cut him during sex. But I much prefer that Maddie doesn't cut Flame, instead shows him a more pleasant way in Tilly Cole's book.

7. The fact that this author has Daphne cutting Tongue and claiming she soothes him and makes him feel something other than pain is ridiculously stupid because hello! You just inflicted pain on him! Argh just stupid! And shows the author clearly doesn't get the point of the scene and character she took from Cole's book.

8. Flame can't climax without pain and you probably guessed it, yes Tongue claims he can't climax without pain.

9. Both are virgins when it comes to women, because of the rape by a male family member

10. Both have never had any interest in sex until he meets the heroine

I mean come on! The list of things taken straight from another author's book, Souls Unfractured, goes on and it's blatant copying by this author. It's awful. I know people who struggle.hard to write books and a couple of my favourite.authors left wattpad because of peoplestealing their ideas and plots,so I hate this.

I was trying to stay neutral and say that these things seem very similar to Cloe's book but they're not just similar and the more I read and the more I wrote this list, the more I couldn't stay objective and try to think maybe it was a coincidence.

Even the way Maddie draws, it seems the author has even taken the heroine's trait from Tille Cole's and given it to Tongue here. Seriously how can I not believe Tongue is definitely copied from Tillie Cole's book and her character Flame?! It's not nice to discover this.

I didn't finish this, I was so disappointed at the copying and the weak story iand understanding of the character in comparison to the beautiful emotions in Souls Unfractured that I stopped reading it, because I thought why would I waste time reading this poor copy when I can read the better version. Especially as the author can't even capture the same heartbreaking emotions despite copying the character. Other issues-

1. Even the blurb shows how bad the writing is, with the words I'm, won't and don't missing their commas and written as -  Im, wont and dont in the blurb! All showing how unprofessional the author is.

If I had to read one more time about him cutting out tongues or her psychosis, I was going to scream. It is literally said three and four times per page while she's in the hospital. We get it, no need to keep repeating it several times a page!

2. There's no character building and no depth to the writing. Shown by her having Tongue be the one to tell the reader all things. For example, she has Tongue thinking,

'If I knew what was good for her, I would let her go'. Then 'but lucky for me I'm not too good at knowing that'.

Does the author really not see how inane and contradictory that is?! He obviously does know what's good for her, to let her go, because he's thinking that very thing! Ridiculous writing.

She also has him thinking really ridiculous things that I doubt his character would ever think. Like him thinking how fashionable her handbag is and how the colour will go with all her outfits. Argh! Awful!

3. The writing of the characters and the story are basic, everything is too upfront. The reader is told everything, rather than the author creaating a story and characters for the reader to discover.

4. There was no depth to the story, no build up of unlikely love, no angst, the heroine doesn't bring his dark world light and warmth, which is supposed to be the whole point of his thoughts in the first scene when he is watching her, right?!

5. There are missing words, even with a very well known phrase when Reaper says to Daphne 'I only have your well being', then it ends without the last part that usually goes, 'your well being at heart' or 'your well being in mind'.

I don't actually like Tilie Cole by the way. Flame and Maddie's book was the only book I liked in her Hades Hangmen series because she got increasingly depressing and wrote excessively worse and worse abuse, pain and suffering on her characters. I stopped reading the series because of it part way through book 4. I didn't even like book 1 & 2, I didn't like the hero's

This author seems to have not only directly plagiarized Cole but has taken a huge leaf out off Tillie Cole's writing of excessively abused characters, going by reviews on her other books. It's just not enjoyable reading. Depressing actually. Really none of this was good.

Tongue & Daphne's story is unparalleled.

Their connection together was just SO good to read 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

I got so choked up reading about Tongue's backstory, it was HORRIBLE reading about what he had to endure.

When Daphne entered Tongue's life, nobody could be any more happier for him than me.
He DESERVES HER after all the shit he had to go through.

She was his comet, and he was hers.

Despite his murderous instinct and psychotic ways, Tongue has this innocent layer to him that I just ADORE so much.
You won't be able to NOT love him after you read this.
Their interaction was the most wholesome thing ever.
I think anyone who read Reaper by A.zavarelli or Souls unfractured by Tillie Cole(Never read this one but from what I heard people say, I think Tongue might have similar characteristics)

I am so glad that she was his first, it's hard(EXTREMELY) to find an MC story that has a Hero that doesn't sleep around at ALL.
Also, it only solidifies the fact that they were IT for each other.
They were so possessive of each other and I REVEL in it so Badly.

The only problem I had was that I found Daphne a bit too accepting of everything so fast; suddenly they were like this killer duo.

I mean at the start I didn't get any impression that she was into all the blood and killing.
She gave off the impression of a soft-spoken and shy heroine that likes books and helping people.
The point was that I loved how different they were.

And suddenly when they get together she got off from blood and murder?
It is a little hard to believe.
It was like a 180 personality change.

Nevertheless, I still enjoyed reading about their relationship and would love it if the author just focuses solely on their relationship in her upcoming books.
THEY ARE JUST SO GOOD TOGETHER, I NEED MORE

I guess I’m one of few that didn’t love this. I thought the H was a bit out there for my taste. He has this obsession for the h but why? What’s so special about her?
The h is living is Lala land. She senses the H following her, in her apartment and she’s flattered lol I don’t know, it just didn’t hold my interest.

It was a decent read. I liked how it became something I was not expecting. .

Tongue was mentally and physically abused by his uncle for many years.
Tongue belongs to an MC. He is known to be a savage killer who cuts the enemy's tongue and feels them to his kitties. Once I found out who the "kitties" were it made me laugh.

Tongue never learned to read and write. "It’s hard to believe that the woman that caught my interest loves words and stories when I can’t even read a sentence." (Loc 92%)

He sees Daphne at a bookstore one day and become's obsessed. He starts to stalk her. Daphne feels Tongue and is not afraid of his shadow.

"When I say she is mine, I don’t mean it in a sweet way. I mean it in the worst way possible. The kind that scares people. The kind of way her friends would be worried about her because I’m so possessive of her. I’m beyond obsessed." (Loc 67%)

However, there is someone else who is stalking Daphne. Someone that is not her friend. This adds to the suspense of the story.

I love stalker books with OTT alpha's. Especially ones where the hero is quiet. Daphne may appear quiet and shy, but there is more to Daphne.

I loved some parts of the books, but other parts I found lacking. This is just a personal preference with reading. I will read more by this author since the characters have interested me.

Tongue story is the darkest and saddest story of the Ruthless Kings and those were tragic.

You can't even imagine the depravity this man has seen, lived with and lived through. He's the cave of the group. Surrounded by isolation and darkness. He has his secrets and scars that tell a tale.

Enter Daphne. She's a bookworm who works in a book store and has caught the eye of Tongue. As we find out about him, the irony of this love interest takes a twist I didn't see coming.

Two people in pain find a kindred spirit in each other. His darkness wants to consume her light and she wants his darkness to consume her.

Believe me, this is a difficult story to get through but we owe it to Tongue who has held on too long to his secrets, agony, darkness and horrors to let his story go unread.

Can't wait to find out all about The Groundskeeper. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Speechless. That’s what I am after finishing Tongue. Do yourself a favor and don’t read any spoilers about this book. You need to experience Tongue unbiased.
Tongue is a mentally damaged man. The circumstances of this are brutal and heartbreaking. Even more heartbreaking is he knows he’s damaged but he doesn’t want to be. He wants to love. When he sees Daphne something about her speaks to him, he becomes consumed by her. He needs her.
This is not a hearts and rainbows love story. This is dark and twisted and raw. I loved it!

Style: MC Romance (Dark)
Story: 4/5
Sexual: SEX-CITINGLY APPEALING
Enjoyment: 4/5
Male: Dark, Anti-Hero, Possessive & Obsessive
Series: Book 8
Pages : 226
Kindle Unlimited: Yes

I will start by saying, I have never read any of the books in this series. However, this book description caught my interest and I really wanted to read this.

Tongue and Daphne’s relationship was so disturbing, but very interesting. This story had 3 components that kept my interest, Tongue, Daphne and Tongue’s past. I don’t think this book would have come out the same if Tongue had a different backstory. His backstory made this book what it is. I have to admit though, it was hard reading the prologue, it was sad and heart wrenching not what I want in my romance but what was needed for this particular story as all the pieces come together. Most of the time, I always note the metamorphosis of a character and by far, Tongue’s was impressive. Yes, he is the anti-hero, and he enjoys killing, but it was still interesting to see.

Although I didn’t read the previous books in the series, it was not hard following the story and multiple characters presented to me. I can appreciate the author’s writing and telling of a story that was sad and kind of made you felt like crying. The crying scene, and his breakdown omg, I felt like I was in the room with them.

Overall, this is very dark, I would even say hardcore-ish dark. It’s very graphic, and I am not speaking on the sexual scenes. This will not be for everyone and would definitely present trigger for some.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I hope this review was helpful.

I have not read any books in the series, but this book was amazing but I wouldn’t read any of the others. Tongue’s friends are actually shit to him and I didn’t like Sarah.

Tongue & Daphne are the cutest couple and deserve everything. The ending wasn’t my favourite so I’ll def need to read the next two books following this couple.

I wasn’t prepared for Tongue’s heartbreaking past, I knew it had to be bad but it was horrendous. I admit I devoured this story in one sitting but I had to process and digest it to even do this review justice. Tongue is so damaged even his MC brothers are afraid of his brand of crazy. Him and Sarah, Reaper’s ol’ lady have this weird bond/friendship going on and she is the keeper of his embarrassing secrets. But he has found a new obsession in the form of a librarian, Daphne. She doesn’t know it yet but they are a perfect match.

Daphne feels a presence in the shadows and oddly enough she is comforted by the feeling. What she doesn’t know of is Tongue’s obsession with her. They finally meet but Tongue still sticks to the shadows, will Daphne ever be able to bring him into the light?

Secrets are exposed and Tongue goes off the deep end and ends up hurting Sarah. What will Reaper do? Tongue almost kills his best friend? That puts him on a crash course with his comet and the light. But her secrets will be exposed also and they really are a match made in “heaven?” or hell. The Groundskeeper is not done with Tongue yet and he makes it known. Will everyone come out unscathed by the most recent run-in with the Groundskeeper? I can’t wait for this thrilling and unpredictable series to continue!!

Even psychopaths need love. They don't think they can until they find the one for them.

Tongue lost his family really young and his strange uncle took him in. Didn't allow him to go to school or make friends. He led a sad life until he snapped.

Daphne works in a book store and is obsessed with books. No love life... just work and reading but she longs for the shy bad boy biker who came in and bought a book from her.

Did you read the Halloween short story in this series? If not you need to go back and read it. If you did then you know the Gatekeeper wasn't caught. Well he is still upset that he lost his game and Tongue got out. Let's see if we can finally find out who he is because he makes an appearance.

TONGUE is the eighth instalment in KL Savage’s contemporary, adult RUTHLESS KINGS MC erotic, MC romance series. This is Ruthless Kings enforcer Wayne ‘Tongue’ Hendrix, and twenty-five year old, book store worker Daphne Lace’s story line. TONGUE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as this particular arc of the series began in A Ruthless Halloween 6.5.

WARNING: Due to the extreme violence, abuse and dark subject matter there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Tongue and Daphne) TONGUE follows the unconventional relationship between Ruthless King enforcer Wayne ‘Tongue’ Hendrix, and book store worker Daphne Lace. Tongue is the enforcer for the Ruthless Kings MC but a horrific childhood has warped Tongue’s need for vengeance and payback, and as such Tongue has earned his name within the MC brotherhood but Tongue’s obsession with Daphne Lace may have placed our heroine in the direct line of fire when she finds herself targeted by more than one man’s sick and twisted mind. As Tongue’s life begins to spiral out of control, Daphne reveals she is more than worthy of Tongue’s need for violence, pain, blood and death-two kindred souls whose lives become intertwined like a crown of thorns meant to bleed and scar.

The relationship between Tongue and Daphne is unconventional; unique and unorthodox but it is a relationship upon which they both agree. No one is safe when Tongue perceives a threat to the woman he loves but perception is one thing, reality is another. The $ex scenes are erotic, dark, gritty and angry.

TONGUE is a dark, dramatic, raw, and intense story focusing on two severely broken and wounded people whose sense of reality borders on the psychotic and insane. Daphne accepts all that is Tongue-from his blood and knife play to his perception of right and wrong yet it is Daphne’s grip on reality that will be questioned on more than one occasion.TONGUE is an emotional, painful and difficult story with graphic details that will break your heart, and crush your soul.

Thank you Jesus for giving one of my favorite tortured souled psychopaths his perfect soul mate! No one and I mean no one should have endured what happened to Tongue as a young boy. I wish I could cut the F-ing tongue out of that a$$hole of an uncle. I wanted to dig him up and torture him so badly.

I loved Daphne and the way she loved him. They were two imperfect people who found a trust in each other that was unexpected. She didn't want to change her man, but bought a ticket on the train to crazy town with him. Hallelujah! I truly am thrilled with this series.

Spoiler Alert!
I just finished Tongue by author K.L. Savage. I've read some of the authors other books and have loved them. This book had the potential to be so much more. Although I thought the author's writing was very good, the storyline fell so short for me. It took a wrong turn onto a bloody and deadly path of revenge. It was just too much sadness and too much darkness.

Anyone who's read my previous reviews know that dark romance is my favorite of the romance genres. I'm usually up for anything. But even I have my limits.

The subject matter contained in this book from the prologue through its entirety shocked and appalled me. My jaw hit the floor so many times, I may have dislocated it. I tried very hard to bite my tongue for this review for fear of losing my own.

I am still reeling from the nightmare depicted in this book. This story is a neverending bloodbath. A disturbing, twisted and extremely macabre romance.

I believe, for the most part that everyone deserves love. I will say this.... This couple deserve each other. But their relationship is sick, twisted and violent. Some of the events that take place in this book, including knife and blood play left me sick to my stomach.

There wasn't anything remotely romantic about this book. All this story did in my opinion was romanticize killing on a whim, relishing in the blood of those they killed. I was tempted to stop reading several times because it took me to places way outside my comfort zone.
This couple fed off of each other's darkness. Literally fed off it. It energized them.

If you like sick and twisted love stories that take you way out of your comfort zone and thrust you into a world of blood lust, then you will love Tongue.. Me? Not so much.

I'll pass on the twisted killing sprees, sickening blood and knife play, as well as a couple without a conscience. Am I recommending you don't read this book? Absolutely not. I'm just forewarning those who might be offended or sensitive to these types of stories.

Will I continue to read Ms. Savage's books? Yes, because I've loved so many of her other romances. This one just didn't do it for me.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

What a freaking rollercoaster ride! It was twisted and it was bloody. Tongue is like no one that I've ever read about before. I love that little psycho almost as much as Daphne does.

His childhood was horrific and that shaped who Tongue became as an adult. The beginning of this book will draw out so many emotions when you read about Tongue's childhood. I had a very hard time reading it so if you have triggers you want to avoid this one. When he sets eyes on Daphne who works in the bookstore he becomes obsessed. When I say obsessed I mean he stalks her and watches her. He knows he isn't good enough for such a pure and perfect woman.

Little does he know that Daphne has a dark side. Tongue murdering , torturing, and cutting out people's tongues do nothing to stop Daphne from wanting Tongue. We all know how much Tongue loves his Talk about OTT jealous and possessive. This book has it in spades.

If you read the Halloween novella then you know who the villain is. He makes a reappearance in this book. He has it out for Tongue specifically but hates all MCs. I was so angry with Tongue's brothers in the MC especially Reaper. Reaper is no longer on my book boyfriend list. The members of his MC didn't trust or get to know the real Tongue. They tried to sabotage his getting together with Daphne a couple of different times.

Daphne was a lovable heroine and she was perfect for Tongue. I can't get enough of this series and I wouldn't mind Daphne and Tongue getting a second book. I think the author left it open for at least a novella or perhaps for their story to run as a side story in future books. Tongue has always and will always be my favorite of the Ruthless Kings. The whole series is gold !

It's no secret I am addicted to this series. I anxiously await each books arrival.
Let me just say, YOU ARE NOT READY FOR THE EMOTIONS THIS BOOK WILL ENVOKE! Yes, I know I was yelling, I meant to. Out of the gate I was rendered speechless. This author duo continues to pull me deep into their stories with each book. Tongues book is DARK, yet BEAUTIFUL and I am still sitting here thinking...what the hell just happened to me? K.L. Savage has once again slayed it! Hope you all are prepared!

DNF @ 68%

Looking at all these reviews, I definitely have the unpopular opinion because Tongue(H) is everybody's favorite in this MC series.

And for the life of me I don't understand why.

Tongue is the club enforcer, and spoiler alert, he gets his name because he enjoys cutting out peoples tongues.

He's an equal opportunity tongue cutter, except for the heroine's tongue of course. He doesn't want to cut hers, he just likes to look at it. Although she did volunteer to let him cut hers out as part of their dirty talk during sex.

Exhibit A:
“You don’t get it,” he sneers with a hint of disdain. “You can’t get rid of me. If you leave me…”
“I’ll let you kill me,” I tell him, and the statement has him gripping the headboard, using it as leverage to put more force in his thrusts. For a man who has never had sex, he sure knows how to fuck. “And then, I’ll let you cut out my tongue,” I whisper into his ear, sucking the lobe into my mouth.

Mom come pick me up I'm scared.

And to add further trauma during that sex scene, I present to you Exhibit B:

“Fucking marry me!” He slaps my ass with his palm as a loud, pleasurable cry escapes me. Saying yes would be crazy.
“I’m going to come,” I warn him. Not happy with that answer, he pulls me against my chest by gripping my neck, choking me.
“I said marry me.”
“Yes!” I scream, clenching on him so tight, he has no choice but to fill me with his seed.

My guy really proposed to her when they were having sex for the first time and she said yes.

Anyways, if you're looking for a broken/tortured hero without a tongue obsession, my baby Zsadist from Lover Awakened will deliver that in spades.

I like m H dark and ruthless, but this H was crazy and not in a sexy way..sweet innocent h turned out crazy also.

H is crazy... like certified. He kills INNOCENT people who were at the wrong place at the wrong time. h was okay with that..
Sarah told his secrets, His club betrayed him, don't trust him, don't believe him .. like author builds up this angst of betrayal and he forgives so fast...he ends up in the wrong and groveling because he hurt Sarah. Super annoying. He came out as a doormat who always cries.

I also hate the constant licking other starngers blood. Like HIV? C hepatite? 100% other diseases? Just.. eww.
H kills innocent people in broad daylight, zero clean up, cameras everywhere, he is covered in arterial blood and somehow they do NOT get gaught? Wtf. ..
THEN H kills like 10+ cops/FBI!! Omg. Wtf is this crazy. In real life the witch hunt will never end when you kill 1. But 10?! And innocent again...

I pushed myself to finish this book. His whole club was filled with assholes. His so called best friend Sarah threatened to burn him with cigaretes like Hs uncle did. Told she will have Reaper hold him down. What cruel person would use those secrets (not anymore, since they found out NOT from him) against somebody?

Bad guy got away.. again.

H and h should be locked up. He is a unhinged serial killer and not in a sexy way

I did like H haf no sexual desire before h. Both virgins
