******* This is a saga series and each book can be read as a standalone *******

Brooke Willis had everything she ever wanted: a happy marriage, volunteer placement at the art gallery, and the promise of starting a family with the man of her dreams.

Saxon Reed had everything he ever thought he needed: a successful career, nice cars, expensive apartment, and more money than he knew what to do with.

After losing her husband Brooke insists on taking over his company to keep his dreams alive. Struggling in an industry she knows nothing about, Brooke turns to Saxon, her husband’s best friend and business partner, for guidance and support. Their mutual grief, and Saxon’s need to look after his best friend’s wife, creates a connection beyond just business.

Can Brooke take over the company and find a new life without saying goodbye to the past? Can Saxon protect and care for Brooke without scaring her away?

What happens when your heart doesn’t listen to your head? When lines are crossed and boundaries are pushed?

“Life goes on, whether you choose to move forward and take a chance in the unknown or stay behind, locked in the past, thinking of what could've been. I don’t want to live in the past anymore. I’m so lonely; there’s nothing for me here.”

Wherever You Will Go by Stephanie Smith
    New author alert!
I am a sucker for a good cry, a broken heart and sad story. I loved this story and Brooke from the beginning. To go through this type of hell and survive astounds me. How can any woman totally in love with her husband, lose him and find the energy and strength to continue the struggle to move on. Nate was her world and her college sweetheart. I felt her pain and was proud of her when she finally listens to an old friend and decides to continue to live. Brooke does see the brighter side of life through work and her husbands work partner Saxon however she cares about what people think about her and she would hate for people to think wrongly of her. Should she move on with the only other man she trusts or stay friends and not have to feel guilty for cheating on her dead husband. I look forward to the second story to continue for Saxon and Brooke

A nice warm & fuzzy, yet hot tale. A second chance at love for Brooke & a first for Saxon. Although the latter does hold a candle for her. Great secondary characters. I see Harley is next, still wondering about Rachael, at first she was there for Brooke, then she seemed to fade out.
It can be read as a standalone but if you want to keep updated you need to keep reading the series. However no cliffhangers & of course a HEA.

AMAZING. Damn this woman making me cry. Brooke and Jaxon broke my heart and then mended it. I loved the story and can not wait for more.

I read whatever you do (book 2) before I read this one because the blurb was more my kind of thing, but after reading it, I really wanted to read Brooke and Saxons story, and I'm so glad I did.
I loved this book. It is sweet, heartbreaking, raw, emotional and beautiful.
The prologue and first line of chapter one had me hooked. I was devastated for Brooke and knew that her story would be an emotional roller coaster. I loved Brooke, I felt what she felt. The confusion was overwhelming for her and bless her for trying to 'go with the flow' as she did. She really never meant to hurt Saxons and believed whole heartedly that he was on the same page.
I floved Saxon! He was amazing. He was so patient and caring with Brooke. He literally would do anything for her, including risking his heart by letting her in, giving her all he had and hoping that it was enough.
The parts where Saxon flashes back to his conversations with Nate were perfect. Getting a look inside his head way back when. Even then you could see Saxons feelings for Brooke were there, even though he didn't understand them and always felt like he wouldn't be good enough for Brooke. The part with Nate talking to Saxon about his will got me right in the feels.

This was a beautiful read. It is paced fairly well, although I did find it dragged a little bit here and there, and there was some repetition, but the story itself negates anything that could be wrong with this book.

It's a five star emotional read that is a must for friends to lovers/second chance romance lovers.
I've just one clicked the next book in the series, and am looking forward to catching up with all the gang and finally find out more about Lana and Jake!
    Highly recommended.
Keep up the good work Stephanie.

I finished this book in half a day....non-stop reading. Then I went back & reread some favorite parts. I might have spoilers in my review so read at own risk!!! You know what I loved about this book? (well, one of the things I loved). I loved that Nate didn't turn out to be an a**hole. I have read WAY too many books where the husband dies, wife grieves for him....then finds out he was a secret gambler or was having an affair or has a child with another woman. I think that's the author's way of making it "OK" for the heroine to date again & it's taking the easy way out, making the heroine AND the readers hate the dead husband so when she DOES start dating again, we love the guy she dates....This author didn't pull that on us....this author was confident enough in her writing & in her characters that she made the husband a freaking awesome guy. He was hot, rich, successful, sweet, romantic, spent every weekend hanging out with his wife....just a really great guy. In my opinion, for an author, thats gotta be hard to write because when everyone loves the dead husband, the author has to work especially hard to make us like the next guy & make us accept him with the heroine. When Nate died, I cried right along with Brooke. But while Nate was an awesome guy, so was Saxon. Ahhhhh, Saxon...what can I say about Sax? He was Nate's best friend, helped run the company with him, & had always had a thing for Brooke. After Nate dies, he seems to be the only one who can get through to Brooke (ok, ok, it was 3mos after the funeral before he went to see her). Brooke doesn't want to sell Nate's company & decides to work there alongside Saxon & he agrees to help her with whatever she needs. They get along great, work together well & eventually....one late night at work....well, you know. Anyway, that's enough....I won't give any more of the book away. Just read it!!! I promise you will love it as much as I did. And, in case anyone is interested....no cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, no grammatical errors, no over the top unnecessary profanity, one near miss sexual assault & one bitchy ex but she goes away pretty quickly & we never see her again. Hope this helps....enjoy the book!

    !!!review contains spoilers!!!

this was a wonderful read. i loved, how the author handled Brookes loss. i've read several books, where a woman who lost her husband, was finding out stuff about the deceased eg he cheated on her or was a liar or a criminal. this was not the case in this book. i loved how Brookes love for Nate was strong and how she and Sax included Nate in their jokes and talked about him. it's also great, that although Brooke loved Nate with all her heart and was deliriously happy with him, she found the strength to say goodbye to him and to start a new life with Sax.

Brookes journey from a devastated widow to a vibrant and happy woman was quit believable and she was a lovable character.

And Saxon. Saxon is by far one of my favorite book boyfriends. he's simply perfect. how he helps Brooke to deal with her loss and to start feeling and loving again. how he tries to do right by her and his brother Nate. I immediately fell in love with him.

i wished there was more of Saxs POV. the reader never quite understands his devastation about Nates death, and i imagine his devastation was as bottomless as Brookes. i didn't quite believe, that Sax took it so easy, that Brooke sold Argo. This firm was as much his baby as it was Nates. Even though Brooke did the right thing by selling the firm and starting something new, i didn't believe that Sax just accepted it without hurt feelings or feelings of loss. and i was quite surprised that Sax, who didn't like art, was so keen on being more than an quiet partner.

i recommend this book, it is and lovely read with a brilliant heroine and one of the most perfect heroes of all time.

Skipped through much of the story cause got very tedious. Irritating old tripe of women with a useless degree good for nothing other than opening of art gallerys requiring a lot of fin support from males in her life. Emotional support is required but this seems more like she needs fin support more.
