    I began exploring Audrey Carlan's work on a different platform before returning to my Kindle to discover more of her books. Now, I find myself engrossed in her series. I've enjoyed the Calendar Girl series, Auction Series #1, and am currently reading Auction 2, along with the Soul Sister Novels, among others. Once I started the first book of the Trinity series, I was hooked and read it straight through, and now I'm eagerly moving on to book #2.
    Gillian (Gigi) Callahan is portrayed as a resilient, successful, and self-reliant woman. She has endured significant pain from a previous relationship and is focusing on personal growth to advance in life. She excels in her role at a non-profit charity, which she adores. During a night out at a bar, she encounters an irresistibly attractive man named Chase Davis.
    The words that Ms. Carlan uses to create Chase have made him so vivid in my mind. The descriptives used for how he smells, sandalwood and citrus, to her nickname of Superman because of his control and take-charge ways, he lives in my Kindle, and I have many bookmarked scenes that I can go back and visit anytime I need to. There is also a sweetness, almost a reverence, in the way he loves and protects Gillian that make my heart melt! But let's not forget that this is an erotic read, the heat is off the charts and when I read the erotic scenes between the 2, mind blown. I guess if you don't like chivalry, you would not like how Chase treats her like his possession, but after both of them revealed their secrets of the abuse that they went through, you can't understand both their positions. Gigi fears that if she relinquishes control to Chase, he might mistreat her as her ex, Justin, did. Meanwhile, Chase believes he is protecting her by being attentive, yet he doesn't allow her space to breathe. However, it's important to remember that Chase is a billionaire who faces threats from others.
    I'm writing this review to inform you about a book that is both suspenseful and romantic, addressing the serious issue of abuse. It narrates from the perspective of a relationship in which a woman is abused to the brink of death, and another scenario where a child and his mother suffer abuse. In the latter, the mother intervenes to protect her child from the father's abuse, resulting in her disability but survival.
    I am loving this series.

The surrounding back story she has written jives very well with the main characters. The dialog she writes for each character is well thought out, and more importantly they talk like really good friends talk to each other bantering back and forth, so you feel like you know them all! It takes a very good author to include all of the above, and make the story flow so effortlessly that you don't want to put it down! She also wrapped up the story with a semi happy ending cliffhanger leading into Mind the next book in the trilogy. Which by the way, goes live here on Amazon tomorrow! So ya don't have to wait to find out what happens! I usually take stars off for a cliffhanger ending, but in this case I really couldn't, because she gave it a semi happy resolution. Audrey Carlan continues to impress me with her books, and it is hard for me to believe that a full time author of less than one year, can turn out the story lines she does. She writes like a well seasoned author of many years! I think she is an author who has many books yet to come, for which I am very glad! She is an Author to watch for sure! She has come up with a winner of a HOT book!

    Great start to the trilogy. Well written, great characters, interesting storyline, and very sexy. I gave it 4 stars because Chase is a bit much. Not just his brooding alpha maleness, but he throws around the fact that he is wealthy and can buy anything and anyone just a little too much. Maria uses spanglish so much she sounds a little stupid, but she's also sweet, loyal, and genuine. I love the connection between Gigi, Maria, Kat, and Bree. You couldn't ask for better friends... A associate director of a charity for battered women, a dancer, a clothing designer, and a yoga instructor makes quite an interesting mix of characters. I'm anxious to see what's next for this group. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

    THis is a must-read but I will warn any prospective readers that you must get Book 2 and Book 3 lined up and ready to move on to !

    The first book of a trilogy which I thoroughly enjoyed. The thing is, I love steamy romances as well as a good thriller and this trilogy ticked both boxes for me. Audrey Carlan covers the painful subject of domestic abuse and portrays how a victim can move on.

    Gillian is forging ahead in a fulfilling career working for a charity who helps domestic abuse victims when she runs into the delicious businessman Chase Davis. The sparks fly when they get together and boom...the sex is super hot!!!!

    No more spoilers from me but I highly recommend this book.

    Esses dois personagens se tornaram tão conectados, eu me apaixonei por eles instantaneamente. Eu podia sentir sua intensidade. Certamente a melhor trilogia da Audrey.
