Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Belle Aurora is twenty-something-years-old and was born in the land down under.

At an early age she fell in love with reading. Boredom one summer had her scouring the bookshelves at home. She stumbled across Sandra Brown’s Breath of Scandal and fell in love with romance.

Having been brought up in a loud and boisterous family of Croatian descent, she developed a natural love for dramatics and humor. Only some years ago had she discovered a new love.

Humorous romance novels.

Kristen Ashley and R.L. Mathewson had opened a brand new world where she could lose herself yet feel safe and at home in their stories. Belle has been known to become a screeching banshee while anxiously awaiting their newest titles.

Belle never thought she would write. It had never interested her until recently. Friend-Zoned began to form and in February 2013 Belle typed the words Chapter One. And she fell in love.

With words.

With writing.

With a creative imagination she never knew she harbored.

Friend-Zoned is the first in the Friend-Zoned series. Keep an eye out for this cheeky author.

Give me a roaring man and I’m happy.
4 out of 5 stars
Give me a roaring man and I’m happy.
I’m a big alpha male fan. Give me a roaring man and I’m happy.Well, Belle Aurora delivered in her own unique way. Lev is different, he’s not quite right, not in the crazy killer spree way, but he’s simply different in a way that makes him unique as a character. Mina is down on her luck when she meets Lev, and from then on a unique friendship forms. I really enjoyed how Mina seemed to unravel a side of Lev that even his siblings have never truly seen, and Lev’s interactions with his daughter, soooo cute! But I would say the best part of this book is how protective they are of each another. They just click and seem to understand the deeper meanings behind each emotion. I wouldn’t say this was a simple Mafia read, a rags-to-riches or even a boy saves girl novel. In a way it’s a combination of all three, making it almost impossible to put down.Although I did enjoy this story there are some cons too. I wish there was a little bit more. There were a couple loose ends where I wish I got answers to some burning questions.

    Most people who know me know that I am as loyal as they come when it comes to authors I love. Their books become my go-to reads and they become a part of my battered soul, filling in the broken cracks and leaving a healing mark. Belle Aurora is part of that club.

    I first stumbled upon this author when she published Friend-Zoned. The level of love I had for that story was borderline unhealthy, as I read it about 40 times by now, and gifted it even more than that. This is because this author knows how to craft a character, tell a story, invoke emotions, tug at the heartstrings and have you breaking out your proverbial pompoms to cheer characters and the events alike. That is how that whole Friend-Zoned series reads, and Lev is no different.

    Lev…my sweet, naïve, unsure, adorably clueless, immaculately dressed, honest, blunt, scarred and triumphant man. He is everything you hope he is, nothing he thinks he is and just enough of what he wants to be. He welcomes into his life a very lost girl, Mina, who turns out to be more like him than even he realizes. Both are lost and trying to find their way, both are somewhat damaged by their past and both want to be more and don’t know how. Their behavior is ingrained, their actions desperate, and their reasoning justified. But at the end of the day, will any of those things be able to be changed?

    How does a girl in poverty and a man steeped in affluence find common ground? Well, they start out by balancing each other’s weaknesses with strengths, support what is right, discourage what is wrong, try to look forward and never behind and, most of all, impart patience. They wait for each other to learn, grown, accept, embrace, and catch up…all while holding each other’s hand and leaning on each other in all aspects. Each one is coming from a different situation, yet the same place emotionally.

    There was something so special about this story and these characters. Watching them each change from who they thought they were, who they actually were and who they soon became, was magical. It was like watching the transformation from a caterpillar to a butterfly. It was emotional to endure some of their truths, but it was encouraging to watch them overcome them…especially together. By the end, the door that was always closed and locked up tight, which is symbolic of so much, was finally open in a true display of the world being fully open for the taking, filled with new adventures, love and possibilities. In one simple move, Lev left behind the anchor that held him back and chose to embrace the winds in his sails…and he wanted Mina with him for the ride.

    Belle writes some of the best secondary characters in literature today. The kind of characters that make you long for a own book of their own and hear their unique story, and this book was no exception. Every secondary character added true value and dynamic and you slowly saw their own story unfold before your eyes. At the end of the book, you sat and realized you wanted more, and you didn’t care who it was because they were all worthy.

    I loved every single word of this book. Not just because Belle Aurora wrote it, but because Belle Aurora wrote it right. She writes real characters, with real lives, having real problems, with relatable personalities, believable interaction, comical commentary, lovable and intriguing connections, all of which leave you with a sense of hope for something good, a desire for something more and an excitement of what is yet to come.

    I, for one, was not disappointed, and I know that as this series continues, I will continue to reap the rewards that the kind of special story telling only Belle Aurora can give. She makes it real, she makes it fun and she just makes you crave more.

    Well, I want more, and I cannot wait until the day comes that I can indulge in it. Color me eager, waiting and impatient!

    I'm just going to tell you what I loved about this novel ...

    Mina Harris !!! I LOVED MINA HARRIS !!! There is nothing and I mean absolutely nothing better than a well developed character. Great writing or a good story mean nothing when it comes to the characters. A novel crashes and burns when the character is not well written and Belle Aurora hit the jack pot with Lev.

    It should have been called "Mina" to be honest. She was just so loveable and laughable. I felt such a connection to her character. She was hilariously funny, witty, snarky and sassy but so damn humble and kind with a heart of gold. A character that you could easily see being friends with in real life; that's a talent only certain authors process.

    Her relationship with Lev was beautiful. I felt so bad for what he went through as a child and what he struggled with on a daily basis as an adult. Literally, I shed a tear when I found out what happened to him as a kid. My heart clenched every time he became confused or said he didn't understand something. He was so intelligent in most ways but lacking in others and the balance the author creates in him was heart crushingly beautiful. I loved how Mina loved him, how she took him for who he was. How she knew just what he needed before he did, how she was able to look past his disabilities and see him for who he really was and not for what he was lacking. It was such an amazing thing to read.

    Four stars for an amazing character and an amazing love story. There were a few mishaps with this novel but I won't even mention them because Mina Harris and her love with Lev overrides it ALL !!! I really hope Belle Aurora continues their story. I would really like to see more from Mina and Lev.

    "Maybe ixnay on the omelesshay sweetie. Okay? Thanks" 😂😂😂 how could you not love a girl who says something like that ...

    Eine herzzerreißende Geschichte volgepackt mit Liebe, Hoffnung, Humor und Sex.
    Ich kann es wirklich nur empfehlen!

    Aaaww, I found my new book boyfriend! I thought it would be darker, like Raw, but no and yet, it worked really, reall, really well.

    Take:

    -a hot hero, "different" as probably slight Asperger syndrom or high functioning autism;
    -a homeless and starving young beautiful woman;
    -an incredibly cute as in doll-like 2 years old girl;
    -a russian family with business in strip club

    and you get a winner with a feel of "Pretty Woman" meet "Reclaiming the Sand".

    It's sweet, it's "melt like a puddle when Lev's smiling", it's a huge smile on your face, it's simply... "swoon"!

    5.0 out of 5 stars 5 LEV AND MINA STARS
    Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 23, 2015
    5 STARS JUST ARE NOT ENOUGH...

    Absolutely loved this book. I had not read the Friend Zoned series before reading this and that did not matter- I did go and read it straight after though!

    'Lev' is the first in the Shot Callers series and what an awesome start. I am a voracious reader. My Kindle is never far from me and I get through books at a fairly speedy rate. So, there are many novels that I enjoy and there are a few that maybe don't rock my book world but are still worth my time. Now and again I will read a book that gets under my skin, grips my Kindle heart and occupies my mind causing me to float off in a literary daze at the most inopportune moments. This beauty was one of those rare books.

    Lev Leokov is a hero that I knew I was going to like from the very start. He comes from a tightly knit family - his siblings Sasha and Nastasia are both equally fascinating. They are rich and powerful with far reaching influence. But Lev is a bit....quirky. He is not a people person. He keeps very much to his family and even though they know him well it still felt like they didn't quite 'get' him sometimes. The love that surrounded him was clear and they were very protective of him. Despite his quirkiness, he is still very much an alpha male and once he sets his eyes on Mina, it's game on.

    I was drawn to her immediately.Intrigue held me captive....That was new.It surprised me.I wasn't sure whether that was good or bad, but it made me take a step toward her

    Lev is simply a gorgeously written hero. What is it about the flawed, imperfectly perfect hero that makes him so addictive? In some ways he reminded me of Archer in Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan and Styx in It Ain't Me Babe by Tilly Cole because he has a vulnerability about him that just captures you and then he will simultaneously sweep you off your feet with his alpha tendencies and oh my goodness....therein lies the perfect book hero.

    Quite often , there is one main character that steals the show. You think of a book and one lead comes to mind. But I have to say Mina stole my heart too. She has an absolutely heartbreaking back story. As a heroine she developed from being downtrodden and absolutely clinging to her dignity and her life really, to falling for her hero and it was really good to see her never lose her backbone or her resolve. I had a lump in my throat when I read how others treated her;

    I could go to the convenience store for a while, but they would expect me to buy something, and seeing as I had no money, and looked as though I had no money , they'd turn me on my ass before I could say boo

    The way the relationship between Lev and Mina developed was sweet and poignant but still packed a punch in the passion department. Phew....underlying sexual tension or what.

    Sasha and Nas are great supporting characters and I cannot wait for their stories to be released. Vik and Anika were....thought provoking. I couldn't decide how I felt about Anika. Still leaning towards disliking her but watch this space.

    I am very much looking forward to more from the Leokov family. Excellent book that gets the series off to a fab start. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Highly recommend to any fellow readers with a Cinderella obsession mixed with a dark Russian/American hottie fascination.

    An incredible story about someone who was on the outskirts of existence, withering away without food, love, a home, all these things most people take for granted. She finds everything she was missing and so much more.
    Lev was beautifully awkward but so sincere and real, and Mina was so grateful to him and his family but doesn't let her gratitude keep her from having a backbone.
    Very believable characters, development, and interesting twists with satisfying endings.
