    I received this ARC so I can leave my honest review of this book.
    I ebb blogged This book very much although have enjoyed other of Jules's books more. The dynamics between not just Levi and Emily, but Levi and his brothers was full of drama and humor. I love the development of the relationship, the growing respect between the two. All round a great book!

    I can't wait for more books in this series!

    This is the first book I've read by Jules, and it for sure won't be my last! This was a solid and steamy contemporary romance with a large cast of characters I can't wait to learn more about!

    Emily and Levi were in a tough spot; they knew they had feelings for each other, but thy let the stigma of Emily being "the ex's little sister" stop them from pursing each other. They worked in close proximity, so you can imagine the tension that was built up having to restrain themselves!

    I really liked Levi. He suffered loss in his personal and professional lives and then his father died and dropped a high-end resort on him. It was interesting to read how he coped with all of the above and incorporated them all into his current life.

    Emily also experienced some rough stuff in her life, but it helped to form her assertiveness. I liked when she unleashed said assertiveness when it came to Levi. Nope, no pushover here!

    I FLEW through this book, not wanting to put it down! I'm looking forward to reading more about these here Cade boys!

    The actual writing was okay - but the story was boring, unbelievable and had no real tension or substance. The only real point of interest - the embezzling/betrayal was never really tackled and resolved off the page. Which only left us with the romance, and what a limp wimpy plot line that was - the moment he sees her he thinks jailbait (um..okay?). then she seems to fall in love with his ass. He lusts after her bared muscular back. They never talk.... almost never. So how they ever fall in love is beyond me. Levi spends all the time brooding, and talking to his manwhore brothers - and their conversations were just nonsensical. These are adult men, right? Why the hell do they blame all their problems on their dead dad and the women in their lives? Grow up.
    No woman should want to be with these damaged childish males who act out - using sex and women like tissues to avoid maturing or facing their issues.
    And Lisa, okay, she wants a fireman (who doesn't) but Levi is hardly kind to her, and there is no actual layers to him or connection with him that ever convinced me she was truly in love. And the scene where she spends 3 days sobbing her heart out and eating Oreos - only for a fire to happen and Levi, conveniently to race to the rescue - I kind of threw up in my mouth a little at the triteness.

    The characters lacked depth, layers and believability. No one talks like these people. The plot line needed... well, an actual plot line, with tension, and a satisfying resolution. The romance needed points of connection b/w the leads and communication - lots and lots of communication.

    This is the first book I have read by Jules Barnard but it is not the last. I have already started reading the Men of Lake Tahoe Series so that I know the back stories on all the Cade Men. Just to say...you do NOT need to have read that series before reading Tempting Levi, but I decided I wanted to so that I could enjoy my re-read so much more. AND YES I WILL BE RE-READING THIS BOOK.

    This book was one of those books that I got into from the start. I think it helped that I also grew up in a large family with dynamics not much different than Levi and his brothers. Not that we were rich or cheated on each other with our siblings. LOL I believe Levi's Dad knew what he was doing in all things and has plans for all his sons which we will see in the upcoming books.

    But let' start with book 1 Tempting Levi...Levi and Emily's story. Would you ever get with an Ex's sibling? What if that is what caused you to be an Ex in the first place?

    Then we have the situation with Club Tahoe. Something is going on with the Club and no one seems to know what or why. Now all things were not answered in this book as to what happened but this books while a standalone is part of a Cade Brothers series so I am thinking maybe we will find out more about the situation in other books? Even if not this book for me was still a 5 star read as it had everything I needed...Romance, Some heat, Mystery and it was very well written.

    It starts well and builds the story but somewhere around middle it looses it's happiness n energy. Emily is a great character I would have loved to see her bit more played out. Levi is thick headed but have good intentions. It could have turned out bettrr somehow the romance of their story is missing.
