Slipperless #1: A Billionaire Love Story (Billionaire Erotic Romance - Slipperless Series) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 154 ratings

My new billionaire boss has literally turned my life upside down in less than a month. What's worse is he appears to relish the fact.

Not only is he incredibly good looking, in a panty-melting-book-boyfriend-way, but he's worth more than most countries and has a reputation around the office as a lover of rock star status.

So why would he be interested in a curvy girl whose entire sexual existence was limited to an awkward, drunken screw in her sophomore year? I have no idea, but he is, and it's making my life a living hell.

Because of his pursuit, I now find myself in the midst of cat fights I didn't start, office backstabbing I can't seem to stop and jealous innuendo from my female coworkers the likes of which I've never encountered.

Inexperienced though I may be, I'm not stupid. And he's not subtle. Every chance he gets, he dares me and tempts me to resist his advances in spite of the risk it poses to my fledgling career.

There's only one problem... I'm not so sure I can any longer.

This is the first book in a Billionaire Romance series presented in serial format. It is not a standalone. All individual entries are currently free with Kindle Unlimited.

I really enjoyed this first instalment and am keen to know more about where the characters go, I can't help but think there is going to be some come back from the video camera installed in the lab! I struggled a bit with Gabe's full on pursuit of Fiona, but having said that she came round in the end.

This plot was very original and well thought out, something which is hard to find. Very refreshing. However my only complaint is that there were areas where the story dragged on. I skipped quite a few pages due to lack of interest and was still able to pick up the plot.
I am going to try the next book and hopefully things might improve a little.

Great book 😁 The chemistry between Gabe and Fiona is going to be hard to hide at work, there's already suspicion between 2 female coworkers jealousy is a nasty business and I feel they can make things difficult for Fiona as now she has a job promotion 😜

4.0 out of 5 stars Great first book as the start of a series.
Reviewed in the United States on 14 October 2015
I picked this book up based on the idea of Boss/Employee scenario. I enjoyed this as the start of the series. I enjoyed the fact that the main female character was a hard worker and enjoyed her job despite her co-workers. I could tell her co-workers were jealous not just of the attention she was getting from the boss but the way she did her job was perfect. I loved the boss in this he pursued her even though he knew he shouldn't.

Though I did find this book a little slow to get to the actual sex it was a brilliant read none the less.

I love serials and I enjoyed this one.
Gabe, aka the boss, is a really likeable character. He is gorgeous, smart and also very nice.
Fiona...she's very shy and uncomfortable in her skin. She has lots of difficulties and she gets by the best she can. I liked her enough, but she isn't exactly good to stand up for herself and that made it a bit hard.
I am excited to see what the second installment will bring.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre at best
Reviewed in the United States on 7 November 2015
I really wanted to like this book. The writing is mediocre and, quickly became rather tedious to read. The reason for this is that the author has created characters that quickly became tiresome. I learned quickly that Gabe, the hero (I hesitate to call him that) is a real dirt bag who sees nothing wrong with sleeping with any employee that catches his eye. Having discovered that the woman he tried to pick up in a bar the previous night has been hired by his company as a scientist, he immediately starts devising ways in which to get her in the sack, including tempting her with the possibility of promotion and a raise. Fiona as the heroine is said by the author to be incredibly smart. Too bad she has no backbone or self-esteem. She is forever apologizing for nothing and immediately takes the blame for everything. She can't look anyone in the eye and refuses to stick up for herself. It just became too irritating to read. I didn't finish it and will not buy any of the sequels.
