If Ever: A Celebrity Romance Kindle Edition
When an enchanting girl leaps off a handsome Brit’s grand piano – into another man’s arms – his heart dives after her. But he has no time for love, and she’s afraid of it. That’s the hiccup in this sparkling and witty romantic comedy by the bestselling author of Don’t Call Me Greta.
Chelsea Barnes was stuck in a rut, so when a tipsy night out leads to a role on a dance show, she hops a flight to L.A. But Hollywood isn’t kind, nor is the misfit cast of B-Star celebrities. That is until she meets a cheeky Brit who keeps peeking at her bloomers – she’s dancing on his piano while he plays, but still…
Thomas Evan Oliver is struck by this utterly captivating girl who monopolizes his thoughts and complicates his life. As lead in a hit Broadway show, she is the last thing he needs, and yet, the only thing he wants.
Chelsea swoons over his delicious accent and devilish charm, but his affectionate pursuit comes with a bump. Patient and kind, Tom sweeps her off to New York and her scarred heart begins to heal. But there’s another hitch that sets their world askew.
Will they cue the orchestra and roll credits? Or is this the opening act?

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 January 2025Loved the characters and the story line. I don't do spoilers normally but I really want to hug Chelsea ! Her 'dad' was a nasty piece of work!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 August 2017If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be on Strictly Come Dancing you will love this story. It's very sweet live story and an easy read for on holiday and will make you laugh and cringe in equal measure.

I really liked the idea of this book which was pretty much Dancing with the Stars (or Strictly Come Dancing for us Brits) meets Broadway. For me the first half of the book was definitely more appealing, I really enjoyed the Chelsea we saw when she was first picked for the show and her attitude but I felt as the book went on she lost this a bit and became quite unsure of herself. I loved Dominic, he was cocky and confident and knew how to push Chelsea. I liked Tom aswell but found he was could have done with being a bit less nice, he didn’t have much charisma which made him a bit dull at times.
I found the book enjoyable but it just didn’t pull me in as much as I had hoped.

4 stars!!!
“There’s a fine line between sexual tension and smelly farts.”
Angie Stanton is a new to me author and this one was chosen because of two things…Strictly Come Dancing is my guilty pleasure…and I adore this cover. It is funny what makes you pick up a book and this was one that I was extremely glad I did. This was a quick, cute, romantic read where romance doesn’t come from where you think.
The reality dancing TV show element was my absolute favourite, I could picture myself behind the scenes of one of my favourite TV shows, one that I spend all my winter weekends watching. If Ever gives you a bird’s eye view of what really happens and it is as if Angie Stanton has actually been a production crew member…maybe she has? I loved the warts and all storyline, the training, the banter, jealousies and insecurities, but most of all, love, love finding you when you least expect it and especially with whom.
Chelsea was the first non-celebrity to take part in Celebrity Dance Off, Chelsea was dubbed “America’s Chance to Dance.” One drunken audition had led her to this reality TV show and she was so far out of her depth she was drowning. Chelsea had a lot of insecurities and vulnerabilities and having the cameras pointed at her 24/7 was not helping.
Tom was a gorgeous Brit on Broadway, a singer/song-writer and thespian. Tom oozed that British charm and when Chelsea and her dance partner chose one of his songs to dance to, he instantly became enamoured.
“He’s like a mirage in a desert, a handsome man with a beautiful heart.”
Chelsea was a great character, she was real, honest and relatable. We often come across abandonment issues in books, but with Chelsea I actually felt them. Angie Stanton does a great job with her character connection and Chelsea is one of those heroines that you just want to give a big hug to and try and support them in any way possible.
“You’ve just been knocked down a lot. Every time you gain momentum, something happens. I curse all the bad luck and dark b**tards that have hurt you, but you’re letting your fears drive you into making a terrible decision.”
The cast of secondary characters was fantastic, many different personalities as you would expect with reality TV and each one had their own part to play. As I said above, I lived this story and while I do feel that some of the storyline could have been trimmed a little, I sincerely didn’t care. I loved the chemistry between Chelsea and Tom, it was a flickering ember in the beginning and Angie Stanton gave it the legs to grow. I loved the journey that these two took, I was glad it wasn’t at all instant and that both of them took their time in getting to know one and other, they helped each other and were there for one and other. Overall, a cute romance that any Dancing with the Stars / Strictly Come Dancing addict will devour with gusto, but even if not, the characters hold their own and for me, I couldn’t put it down.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 August 2017The Author is new to me but i am so glad i read this book. The storyline was really good and the characters were great. The story is emotional and sad in places but also has a bit of humour. Chelsea is a nobody and Tom is an Actor, who is asked to appear on a dance competition that Chelsea is taking part in. Tom becomes smitten and a relationship between them begins. The author has managed to touch on all emotions, betrayal, loss, heartbreak and love. Highly recommend this wonderful story you won't be disappointed i wasn't

5.0 out of 5 stars Great love story!
The main characters in this book are easy to fall in love with, as they fall in love with each other. I ordered this book as a bit of light reading but had trouble putting it down! It's an easy read and flows really well - highly recommended for anyone with a soft spot for a good (but not too cringy or corny) romance novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars their banter was so much fun. But then Tom came into the picture and ...
This story is basically my teenage daydreams come to life.
Just a small town girl, who gets "discovered", becomes "famous", and gets to date a celebrity...yeah, all my teenage daydreams!
Chelsea is the quintessential mid-western girl, and I adore her. I'll admit, for a moment there I was rooting for her and Dominic...their banter was so much fun.
But then Tom came into the picture and all was lost. Oh, Tom, how I love thee.
Homeboy loves with everything that he has, and I want to be Chelsea.
Teenage daydreams right there!
This books was filled with ups and downs, moments where I laughed so hard and moments where my black heart cracked a bit. My Kindle may have also flown across the couch at one point.
Stanton created a beautiful escape from reality...and also weaved humor and hardship in it perfectly.
Cannot recommend it enough!

4.0 out of 5 stars This book made me so happy....
4.5 stars -- I received a free copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion. Though I was delayed in getting to my ARC, so I actually read the copy I purchased instead.
OMG you guys, it didn't take me long into the book before I knew I was going to love this one. I've loved so many of Ms. Stanton's YA books, and this one felt like Dream Chaser for adults. I honest to goodness laughed out loud, silently cried, squealed in delight, and last night before bed I got so hyped up that I was singing "Don't Stop Believin" to my husband, and he was cursing my caffeine intake, but it was really just excitement over this book. And honestly, if it wasn't for the ending, this would have been at least a round up if not a full 5 stars. The ending is the reason for rounding down. I'll get to that later, I want to gush first.
I will admit to being a Broadway fan (we always go to at least one show each time we visit NYC), and while I don't watch any of those reality dance shows (b/c I'd always rather be reading), I do love the world of dancing as well...probably b/c I have like no grace or coordination myself (although I did attempt ballroom dance lessons when I was in University). So this book really was almost tailor-made for me. But what makes it stand out is not just that these settings were present, but that the author does an amazing job of really making you believe it, and really giving you all the little bits to immerse you into both worlds.
The book is really split into two halves, and the first half is where we're immersed into the world of dancing, and it just made my heart so happy. It was grueling and exhilarating all at the same time. I felt how hard Chelsea worked, what a toll it took on her body, and how it really showed a true appreciation for dancing as almost a sport. I was so concerned with how her relationship started with her dance partner, Dominic, and so was ridiculously pleasantly surprised with how that relationship developed. It could have gone in a cliche direction, and it didn't. I LOVED that. And I adored Chelsea's interactions with Hank. He was definitely another favourite secondary character. I really appreciated that her progression through the weeks was believable too. And I loved how we got to see Chelsea's character really develop and become stronger in this first half. I was so proud of her when we got to the finale and all the work she put into it.
The second half was about her time in NYC with Tom, and really the development of her romantic relationship with him. This is where we got to dive into the world of Broadway, and what it's like to be an actor trying to make it work on Broadway. It honestly opened my eyes to the challenges and rewards of such a career. And I felt the magic of his performance...I wanted it to be real! I wanted to see him perform and hear his beautiful voice! Damn you Ms. Stanton! Make it real!! I couldn't hear him sing, but it didn't matter...it felt like I could. I felt Chelsea's emotions when he finally got Stay right. It helped me to imagine her dance as well...I felt like I could see it. It was very emotionally impactful.
Tom was RIDICULOUSLY swoon. Like, added to my top book boyfriends list swoon. Like, I had tummy tingles almost from their first interactions. And he was more of a beta boy, and you know how I love me a beautiful beta boy!! I loved that he was technically the celebrity, but he was really very down to earth, humble, and at times insecure. If you couldn't tell, I ADORED him.
I LOVED their romance. The chemistry was off the charts, and they just made me giddy and happy. My highlight was definitely Tom's teasing, and the way they would banter with each other. I can't even describe to you how many times that boy made me laugh. I loved that we got to watch their romance go through all the stages, from crush to early relationship honeymoon phase to honest struggles and missteps. My heart hurt for the challenges that they faced, and I thought it was very realistic.
I had a bit more of a rollercoaster ride with Chelsea. I loved her, and my heart ached for everything she went through in her past, and how it shaped her into the woman she is today. I really believed it too. She was hard to read, b/c she was so insecure and damaged and afraid, and self-sabotaging at times. I think what made her character really hard to read is that in the first half we got to see her really develop and become stronger, and I was rooting for her all the way. But in the second half we saw her fall and fall hard. That's hard to take.
And this is where my rounding down comes into play: I wasn't satisfied with how the book ended with her character. She fell, and we really didn't get to see her climb back up and become strong on her own again. I needed to believe that she was going to be OK, that she was getting stronger, and without Tom. I didn't want her strength to be completely dependent on Tom. It wasn't enough to ruin the book, it just bummed me out a bit.
And honestly? The ending was extremely abrupt. Like turn the page and do a double take when it's the note from the author and not an epilogue. I'm always a sucker for an epilogue, but I really felt that this book needed one.
So, as seems to be the case with me lately, there is my short novella of a review. While the ending wasn't as satisfying as I wanted, it was really a small blip on what was an otherwise perfect book for me. I'm so happy right now, and don't even want to read another book, I just want to bask.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy ending
Loved how this girl goes from nothing at all, to having everything. Hate that she had to live her life homeless after losing her mom and grandfather, but made her much stronger

3.0 out of 5 stars A sweet Cinderella style celebrity romance
I enjoyed Tom and Chelsea’s story they were a perfect fit. Although towards the end Chelsea really started irritating me with the immaturity, insecurity and seeming lack of trust in Tom and their relationship. I also felt the book ended really abruptly without us getting to see the reactions of their friends and family to their engagement or what happened to them in the future. This book could have really used an epilogue to make the story feel complete. Even the with the above comments it was still overall a very enjoyable and well written book.
