USA Today bestselling series

Good things come in extra-tall, smoking hot stilettos.

Things like Jocelyn Jones.

Jocelyn “Ice Queen” Jones is the hottest agent in town, and I’m determined to make her mine. My agent, that is. She’s the best at what she does, which is why I’m intent on keeping our relationship strictly platonic, even if the sexual tension between us is thick enough to slice with a skate. After all, I already have a woman in my life. My daughter, Charli, and we’re not sure if there’s room for someone else.

Until Jocelyn Jones breaks all the rules. She lets her icy exterior begin to melt, treating me to a view no man has ever seen before. Suddenly, I’m no longer certain if I want to be on her roster, or in her bed—for good.

Tangling business with pleasure has never been on the agenda. Then again, neither has falling in love.

They say it’s bad business to sleep with the boss.

But they haven’t met Jocelyn Jones.

Not going well. Hero is a dad, putting daughter in categories
-Like sports as a girl? You Tomboy.
- But likes yellow and purple? How confusing, maybe not.
-Hate Barbies bc you like sports. It's a dichotomy. There is no middle ground.

Fuck. Off.

6 year olds get to be 6 and figure out what they like. It's best we refrain from labeling. I know, it's weird to get up in arms about this in a romance novel. Except it's not, friends.

sports and colors are for everyone. So are dolls. (Mlp, even better)
So is nail polish. And science, math, art and theater.

Let's teach our kids "you do you," please.

*Gets off soapbox to DNF book*

I was bored anyway. So bored I just decided getting pissed would be more fun.

I got to 25% but it was just a bit choppy and juvenile. A bit too insta and had neither MN nor ice (a mention of a MN Stars sweatshirt. And he needs a hockey agent)

The hero seemed a great dad but also seemed like he was kind of a douche. And I don't like the transitions between him being with his daughter and him thinking of Jocelyn at all. Not a bit. Lots of tell here and not much show.

I was super excited to read the next installment of this series because I absolutely fell in love with Lily's debut novel Delivery Girl! It was incredibly cute and well written. Imagine my surprise when I find out that the next in the series was going to be Jocelyn Jone's book, AKA "The Ice Queen" or "The Blonde Bitch".

You may say that Jocelyn has a reputation. She knows what she wants, and she goes after it. What she wants right now is Landon Boxer on her roster. With his agent soon retiring, she wants to scoop him up and cash in on all the endorsement deals that she already has lined up for him.

But when she meets with Boxer, he has a proposal. He wants to be FRIENDS first….. Jocelyn doesn't have friends, unless you count her assistant Lindsay. To add a little more complication, Boxer is a father of an adorable 6 year old daughter, Charli.

Quickly, Jocelyn finds her normal routine turned upside down. She's spending more time with Boxer and Charli and less time answering e-mails are returning phone calls. It's refreshing…and scary for her. She's spent most of her life protecting herself from close relationships, but Boxer and Charli worm their way into her heart and there was no turning back.

#1- I LOVE when a child brings a couple together. Charli has an adorable role in this story. She's smart and sassy and knows how to play her cards. I love watching Jocelyn fall in love with Charli and discovering her maternal side.

#2- Boxer. In a word: GENTLEMAN. This man is a gentleman. In the world of romance, we need more gentlemen between the brooding alpha males. I love how he wants to court Jocelyn to ensure that they are a good fit, not just as a couple, but potentially a family. SUPER SWEET!

#3-The element of suspense. I love suspense, and although this isn't a murder, or a crime, there is definitely a element of suspense. I felt that this really picked up the pace and added more depth to the plot. I wish that it was more than the last 15%, but I really enjoyed trying to figure out what the characters were going to do.

There were just a few things missing from this that I was expecting after reading Delivery Girl. I love side characters, especially the Best Friend. Although Jocelyn's assistant Lindsay played a big part in her day to day, she still called her "Boss". I just didn't feel connected to these two. I would've loved to see more between Boxer and his brother as well.

The reason I love to read sport's romance is because OF THE SPORTS! There was very little in here and I was disappointed. I wanted to know more of why Boxer loved hockey, and to have more exposure to that part of his life, especially the teammates. At this point, I have no idea who the next book could be about, which just seems odd.

One thing that I really liked about this book, is that it's low on the juvenile bull shit drama. When shit hits the fan, Jocelyn and Boxer keep their cool and trust in one another. I loved this. Although I love the drama, it wouldn't have fit here. I'm glad that Lily went this direction.

Overall, a great continuation of a cute and fun series. I will definitely be looking forward to the next installment!

***4 “Puzzles” Stars***

Having thoroughly enjoyed Delivery Girl, the author’s debut novel, I was definitely looking forward to seeing what she would be offering up next and I wasn’t disappointed. Boss Girl is a quick, easy and engaging read with just the right balance of humor, heart and drama and characters that will worm their way under your skin and into your heart.

If you read Delivery Girl (You don’t HAVE to, but you should), you’ve already met Jocelyn Jones and may not have the best view of her. I actually found her quite intriguing and wanted to know what made her tick and I have to say that I absolutely admire the woman. Yes, she is all business and can be seen as icy, but she isn’t without heart and learning about her past and how it shaped her showed me that her heart is much bigger than anyone could even guess and seeing her evolve was a beautiful process.

Landon Boxer was simply swoon worthy. Single dad, hockey hottie and one of the most down to earth guys around made him absolutely ovary bursting. Talk about a good man. He loves hockey, but he loves his daughter more and her happiness is his first priority. I loved how he viewed being a hockey stud and how he wouldn’t compromise his integrity for anyone.

Jocelyn and Landon have a few roadblocks to navigate around in their journey to their HEA, but I enjoyed how they worked their way past and through each of them. While there was some drama, it stayed out of the angsty realm, and they both acted like the adults they were instead of resorting to game playing and expecting the other to read their minds. I was pleasantly surprised with how everything played out for them and thought they were a perfect match.

I really enjoyed the path the author took with this book. There were many times when she could have made things more difficult and drawn out the drama, but she didn’t go there. She kept things simple and realistic. Charli, Landon’s daughter was a lot of fun to read and I loved what she brought to the story. And though this book is apart of the Minnesota Ice series, it doesn’t have much to do with the Minnesota Ice other than Jocelyn’s connection to the first book, but there is still a little hockey in it. I’m really enjoying Ms. Kate’s writing style and voice and am looking forward to what Birthday Girl will bring us!

Boss Girl by Lily Kate was a nice surprise. My first book by this author, we are taken on a journey of two people getting to know each other.

Jocelyn “Ice Queen” Jones may be the best agent in town, but not the most open. The last thing Landon Boxer needs is that complication in his life. But Jocelyn wants him, as an agent that is. Jocelyn is a workaholic that is dedicated to her job. But suddenly her life is turned upside down by Boxer and his daughter.

Boxer is a hockey player with an adorable daughter. I loved Charli, his six-years old daughter. She was so sweet and stole the show. He is such a good father, always putting her first. He is a good guy, with a good heart, that steals your heart.

Boxer wants an agent that is also a friend and understands his needs. Though hockey is important to him, his daughter comes first and he needs an agent who understands that. Jocelyn is thrown off by this at first, but is willing to do what it takes to sign Boxer. It was so much fun seeing these two getting to know each other and their interactions with Charli.

I enjoyed Boss Girl by Lily Kate and will definitely be checking out Delivery Girl, the first book in the series. I liked the story and how it flowed and really loved the characters.

I honestly don't remember reading the first book of this series. So, that is all kinds of awkward. Especially since I decided to randomly jump into Boss Girl. The second installment within the Minnesota Ice series.

A normal person would probably re-read the first book after realizing it has been years since they've read it. Well, I wasn't that person because I just didn't give a damn. I saw a book and I read it. End of story.

In this, you will meet Jocelyn and Landon. She is known as the ice queen, and he wants her for his agent. Maybe he thinks he can charm is way into her heart... maybe he doesn't. All I knew was that the romance was going to happen no matter what.

Now I definitely went through a push/pull relationship with these two. At times, I liked them and at other times I didn't. It was definitely refreshing for her to put focus on something other than work. Especially when it came to bonding with Landon and his daughter, Charli. Then there were moments that I didn't like what Landon was saying about or to his own daughter. Some of it just rubbed me the wrong way.

Other than that, the hockey was entertaining, and the romance was okay. Not my favorite cup of tea but I didn't hate it at the same time. Definitely tolerable.

4 Ice Queen CROWNS

If you are looking for a light, low-angst romance, then look no further than Boss Girl by Lily Kate. Like her first standalone novel in the series, Boss Girl brings a sweet romance with enjoyable characters and a story-line that focuses on real and lasting love.

Boss Girl follows Jocelyn Jones, who readers met in the previous book. She is known in the agent world as the Ice Queen. When readers learn about her background, they finally understand what gives her the cold demeanor, what makes her seem indifferent. What readers will also see that there is a warm and caring person beneath the business persona she chooses to present.

Landon Boxer is a single dad who has his priorities straight. He puts nothing ahead of his daughter, and he is only looking for a permanent lover in his life. He recognizes that he is too old to play the field, and his daughter is too fragile to bring women in and out of his life. Even if readers wouldn't already be swooning over him being a fantastic dad, he has some pretty amazing one-liners that will melt hearts.

The plot of Boss Girl is well paced. Lily Kate gives the readers time to get to know the characters, their background, and their initial perceptions of each other. Through the course of the novel, readers get to enjoy Jocelyn more as she interacts with Boxer as well as Charli, and through these interactions, the readers will not only begin to warm up to the heroine but they also fall hard for Boxer. The conflict of the story is small and the resolution is quick, but the ending is perfect for this two.

Boss Girl is another great addition to the Minnesota Ice series. With its low drama and high romance factors, it is the perfect laidback read.

Jocelyn Jones (a.k.a. The Ice Queen) is a formidable sports agent - a woman in a man's world who has had to develop a tough attitude in order to stay competitive. And now she wants to sign Landon Boxer, hockey player and single father, but she's got some stiff competition in her colleague Rumpert (who is a slime and a weasel, but Boxer seems to be considering him). When Boxer says he wants a player-agent relationship that's a little more personal and his current agent suggests he'll never sign with someone he can't be friends with, Jocelyn decides to become his friend. Problem is in order to be a his friend, she has to show him who she really is. And once she does that, combined with their very mutual attraction, not ending up in a relationship is impossible. Boxer is absolutely wonderful and caring, while Jocelyn also falls in love with his little girl, Charli. But Rumpert is still gunning to represent Boxer, and he's willing to pull out all stops.

This was really cute. I mean, we get a totally different Jocelyn in this book than the last one though. We saw her in the last book as the villain, as she almost ruined Ryan and Andi's relationship with her insistence on him not dating. In this one, I don't even know how she got the name "Ice Queen" because she definitely wasn't cold or unemotional at all. She seems perfectly relatable (if a little awkward at times) and does a pretty good job of opening up to Boxer. Nevertheless, she and Boxer are absolutely adorable together and Charli is just the icing on the cake. I liked that Boxer was a family guy, not given to one-night stands or short flings and that he basically tells Joss that once he takes her to bed, that's it, they're in a full-commitment relationship. So he gives her two months to get to know him and be sure she's ready for that. I liked finally reading about an athlete who wasn't promiscuous and who wanted more from the woman he was attracted to. These two worked well together and I enjoyed reading this story a lot...even better than the first one. Joss does eventually make up with Ryan and Andi, but that's epilogue stuff.

A little too similar to the previous in the series but overall a good read. That fourth star was for Landon (I'm sorry I cannot for the life of me call him Boxer and keep a straight face) because I loved him from the very first pages. It's hard to dislike a man who loves sprinkles, ice cream and his daughter as much as he does!

Boss Girl is the story of Jocelyn Jones, also known as the Ice Queen from Delivery Girl, and I'm not going to lie... I detested Jocelyn. She was cruel and was trying to tear apart Andi and Ryan. But, reading Boss Girl and getting in her head has made me change my mind! I adore her now! She's a little socially awkward and/or challenged, but her quirks will have you loving her more.

"Ice, while at times dangerous and sharp, can also be beautiful. There are few things more miraculous than snowflakes, or the sheer white innocence of a frozen tundra. Within her is a certain contentment - like the quite of a morning's fresh snow."

Landon Boxer is a single dad and his daughter is his highest priority with hockey and ice cream following behind. I relate so well to Boxer, not wanting to be away from your child unless you know the person you are spending time with, is worth taking time away from you child. The way he read to his daughter every night was just beautiful! Sigh. I'm a sucker for a single dad!

Boxer was just want the Ice Queen needed to thaw her heart! Jocelyn may be the Boss Girl, and always put her career above her personal life, but when trying to woo Boxer as a client turns on it's head she learns that she doesn't always need to be the boss.

This story, made me nervous, I'm not going to lie. You know when everything is just going so smoothly and you just know it's about to hit the fan? I had that feeling for half the book! I was so nervous. Gah! They are so perfect together!

"I don't want you anymore, I need you. When I'm not with you, I think of you all the time. Life feels half lived when you're not next to me."

Grab Boss Girl today and fall in love with this sprinkles loving single dad!

Incredible! Just Incredible indeed! I loved the first book in this series and then this one came along and captured my soul. I dont want to include any spoilers. However, I will say that this novel was so touching. When you have a spunky little girl included in a love story, how could it not. Charli really was an integrated part that brought this love story together. It's hard when a parent falls in love and you are so young and might feel abandoned because of that new love. Jocelyn and Boxers story is one for the record books. It teaches you patience, understanding and above all else unrequited love. A truly beautiful story that will inspire others and capture their hearts and souls.

This was such a beautiful and sweet story about a hockey player and the agent who tries to sign him.
I was a little nervous when I started the book because I really didn’t like Jocelyn ( the ice queen and agent who tried to sign Ryan) from “Delivery girl”, but this book totally changed my mind about her.
Boxer is amazing and he is a single dad to a 6-year old girl who is his number one priority to his hockey career and his love life. Their relationship starts as a friendship which developed into more and Jocelyn builds up an amazing relationship with Boxers daughter even though she was convinced she was bad with children.
I can definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a feel good romance.

This was my first book by author Lily Kate.. I understand there was a previous book that this one ties in with and I'll be sure to go back and check it out. I don't think it mattered I didn't read that one first though.

This is a sweet story about a hockey player, Landan, who is seeking a new agent while trying to be a great dad to his little girl. Jocelyn "the ice queen" is an agent..... this story was really sweet, and a few moments pulled at my heart strings- especially involving Landan's little girl.

If you're looking for a cute story about two people meeting and falling in love then this is for you! I rate it 3 stars.

Boss Girl is a lighter romance. No need for the tissues because you won't be ugly crying. The story is angst light. The humor, entertaining characters, and swoony love covers up most of the angst. You'll fall in love with Boxer, Jocelyn and most of all Charli. She's absolutely an adorable character, and way too smart/perceptive for her age. Overall you'll enjoy Boss Girl, however there's not as much humor as Delivery Girl..... Read The Rest Of My Review!

I love sport romances but this book was so much more than that ❤️❤️
Jocelyn Jones is a ruthless agent who is at the top of her game. And she wants Landon Boxer to be her next client. Their professionalism relationship turns to friendship and then personal.
There is so much maturity in their relationship, so much honesty. They take it slow, their chemistry is undeniable and their foundation strong. They both grow as partners and I loved that. This was real!!!
Both these characters were so lovable and relatable and just perfect for each other.
Absolutely loved this story 👍🏼

No hockey romance.

It's a good story. Good characters. But this is not a sports romance. Hockey player is just a job in this book. There is none of the sport or player interaction that makes it a sports/hockey romance.

I absolutely adored Lily Kate’s debut novel “Delivery Girl” and I have been eagerly waiting her next book in the Minnesota Ice series. Well it’s been a bit of a hiatus but well worth the wait as “Boss Girl” does not disappoint. Boxer aka Danny/Landon is a hockey player on the market for new representation as his longtime agent and friend is due to retire. Sports Agent Jocelyn Jones wants him on her books. She’s all business, a workaholic has put friendships and life on the back burner in pursuit of her dreams of being a well respected and successful sports agent. Even though she has now achieved this, she's still driven. Jocelyn Jones appears as very hard nosed in Delivery Girl and it was great to see in Boss Girl that she only has the best interests of her clients at heart. She's a successful woman in a man's world and while she read the Ryan/Andi situation wrong, she's big enough to own her mistakes and apologise.

Boxer wants his next agent to be like his current one, a friend who will put this family man’s best interests first rather than treating him like a cash cow. Throw in his cute six year old daughter, Charli, a burgeoning friendship and a lot of chemistry with Jocelyn, a few twists and turns and you have a great story. There is a seedy and unethical fellow sports agent vying for Boxer’s to sign with him which pushes the plot along nicely. Boxer is such a nice person, a true gentleman, a man of integrity who knows his priorities in life.

I liked a lot of things about this book, but mostly Jocelyn’s realisation that there is more to life than being the most successful sports agent, that it is okay to let your defences down and love and care for people and let them love and care about you, and that past loss, however terrible that may have been, shouldn’t stop you making the most of life. The chemistry between Boxer and Joss was there from the beginning but the romance, or consummation of the romance was a slow burn and this made for a much better book in my opinion. Both Boxer and Joss were great characters, they acted in an adult way when faced with difficult situations and didn't fall into the juvenile assumptions and behaviour that many books rely upon. They didn't get everything right all of the time, but they tried and they were so likeable I was on their side the whole time.

I also liked that the epilogue was included in the book. In the past I’ve signed up to authors’ websites to get the epilogues to their books and then find my inbox flooded with books by other authors who write the kind of books I hate. It’s a real pet hate and I have stopped signing up for epilogues now. The editing and proof reading was excellent, which makes a change from many books churned out by more well known authors. I always award at least half a star for a well proof read book which takes this 4.5 star read to a 5.

At the end of the book there is even better news for fans of Lily Kate as number 3 in the Minnesota Ice books, Birthday Girl, is due out on 26 September 2017 and Hangry Girl which appears to be the beginning of a new series (The Girls) is due out on 24 October. I received an advanced reader copy and this is an honest and unbiased review.

I am so happy to have found another author who writes romantic comedies! This one wasn't quite as funny as it's predecessor, Delivery Girl, but it was still really good and had some really funny moments!

I was a bit hesitant to read this story as it was about Jocelyn, a fairly prominent character from the first book. Her nick names included Ice Queen and Blonde B***ch, and in Delivery Girl, she was every inch, both those things. But Boxer, who was also in the first book, was the hero, and I loved him, so I decided to give it a try anyway!

Thankfully, the character progression was spot on. You really don't need to read Delivery Girl to understand what's happening in Boss Girl. Jocelyn's behavior and actions that are moderately relevant to this book was retold and explained but not overly so. Andi and Ryan don't even make a formal appearance in this book and it wasn't necessary for them to be.

Boxer has a 6 year old daughter (who was never mentioned in the first book and I did feel like the author decided to give him one after she'd already completed the first book). Charli is her name and she's a tomboy who loves pink and glitter but hates Barbies. Tomboy's don't usually like pink so I thought that was rather strange, but brushed it off. Boxer is the perfect dad and I loved how much he loved his daughter.

Jocelyn and Boxer were the perfect match and their chemistry was off the charts! I could feel it through my kindle screen. I love it when two characters choose to get to know each other and actually date before giving into the lustful desires. Of course, they eventually did, and the scenes didn't disappoint! There are three love scenes that aren't overly detailed but just enough.

There's a small amount of swearing, a few F bombs among them, but not many.

There is actually hockey playing in this book! There wasn't any hockey scenes in the first book. It's only one scene, towards the very end, but it was there.

Overall, great romance!

(Personal complaint, the cover of this book makes no sense. Boxer doesn't have a beard, has dirty blonde hair and doesn't wear glasses. I get that they were going with the whole "boss" theme, but it should have been a blonde female on the cover with glasses on, but even then, Jocelyn doesn't wear them either. They could have at least put a hockey player on the cover!)

This audiobook was Amazing, the narrators were brilliant.!!..They did an excellent job at portraying Jocelyn and Boxer, and their comedy timing was perfect and made it so funny when neccessary.I thoroughly enjoyed listening to both Kasha Kensington and Iggy Toma telling me this book by Lily Kate.
This story between Boxer and Jocelyn was great and very entertaining we met both characters in book 1 delivery girl...and I have to say I didn't really like Jocelyn in that book..but we discover more about Jocelyn in this story and why she did the things she did...Boxer on the other hand was adorable and sweet and he still is I loved him.
Jocelyn Jones is one of the best sports agents in the buisness, and has the reputation of being an ice queen..She wants Landon Boxer as her client but he is being difficult to capture.
But Boxer wants a loyal agent one he can trust not a ruthless money hungry cold agent.
So Jocelyn strives to get to know him.
Landon Boxer is a hockey player and single dad,he is a simple man he loves his daughter, hockey and ice cream..money doesn't matter to him and he finds the joy in everything.
Boxer and Jocelyn are opposites in a way he is the sunshine and she is the grump, she is afraid of relationships and is happy with a one night stand,..Boxer wants it all, he wants more than one night he wants a full relationship.
There is an incredible chemistry between them that cannot be denied...and its only a matter of time before they relent to their desire.
But Jocelyn wants him as a client so it would be inappropriate to sleep with a potential client..So Boxer makes her an offer for them to just get to know one another and see were it goes.
This is such a wonderful story funny, sweet, romantic and steamy and I loved it to pieces...Lily Kate's writing is so humourous and so easy to fall in love with...Boxer is just so swoony I adored him,Jocelyn redeemed herself completely and I found that I liked her alot.
A fabulous audiobook.

When I first read this blurb I thought "Wow this sounds like something I would like" and now that I've read it, I can't get enough of it. I read it from cover to cover in one sitting and loved every juicy minute of it.

Jocelyn is a woman in a man's world and because of it she's had to appear stand offish. She may have an "Ice Queen" reputation, but she works hard and gives her all to her clients. Now she's after the catch of catches, Landon Boxer.

Landon is a simple man and his number one priority is his adorable daughter. His career is important but it's not his whole world. His agent is retiring and he's fielding calls from every agent trying to sign him, but Jocelyn Jones is one agent that gets under his skin and he can't stay away.

Mixing business and pleasure has never been Jocelyn's thing but Boxer makes her want to break all the rules. And the more time they spend together, them more she wants to be with him and his daughter. Can these two find a way to make their personal relationship work along side their business relationship? Or will they have to choose one over the other? Or worse lose them both?

Boss Girl is a fun, humorous, sexy read that captives the reader and leaves them satisfied and with a smile. I love a strong, independent heroine that isn't afraid to stand up for herself. A hero that knows what's important in life and does whatever it takes to preserve it.

The chemistry between Jocelyn and Boxer is phenomenal and I loved their banter. What I love most about them is their slow burn, they take the time to get to know each other before jumping into bed.

Charli is priceless and really delightful. I loved her sweetness and innocence, she's steals the show.

I enjoyed Boss Girl and highly recommend you pick up this enchanting book.

What happens when the woman with the toughest reputation in the business falls in love?
What if it’s with one of her potential clients?

Jocelyn Jones, aka the Ice Queen spends most of her days working. In her free time, she works some more and eats Lean Cuisine. Already in her late 20s, Jocelyn has spent most of her life working. After suffering a tragedy in her childhood, she’s left reeling. In response, she works her butt off as she becomes the best in her business (she’s a sports agent) and climbs the corporate ladder.

But along the way, Jocelyn is dreadfully single, and earns a reputation as the Blonde B*tch/Ice Queen for her no-nonsense method. So what happens when Landon Boxer walks into her life?

Boxer is a talented hockey player that has gone through his own heartbreak, and is left with a beautiful daughter by the name of Charli as a result. He is fiercely protective of Charli, incredibly loving, persistent, compassionate, and is absolutely, no-mistakes-about-it crazy for Jocelyn. After he meets her, he can’t stop thinking about her. But as her new potential client, will they be able to mix business and pleasure?

After reading Lily Kate’s debut novel ‘Delivery Girl’, I was excited to dive into this book. And I loved it! The characters were palpable and imperfect, the story had enough build-up to it so I didn’t feel like the romance was rushed. And thank you for having a female character with ACTUAL CHARACTER. Jocelyn doesn’t take sh*t from anyone and I LOVE it. She’s a hard worker, great friend, and fascinating lover.

Jocelyn and Boxer together were fabulous and I loved Charli’s character as well. As someone who reads romance between theological/philosophical books, I tend to be disappointed easily.

This book did not disappoint.

Ahhhh the story of a hockey player and an "Ice Queen" agent trying to score the hottest new available client. Only this wasn't a simple sports romance. For me, this book was more about learning to love, trust and live again. Landon and Jocelyn were all about business. Doing business together was Jocelyn's #1 priority, forget the undeniable attraction between them. But Landon's approach to business was not something Jocelyn was ever used to. He needed to be friends with his business associates, to know they understood his primary values in life.

OMG his daughter Charli. She was absolutely adorable. One of the best things about this book was Landon's relationship with Charli and her outgoing, colourful personality. She honestly lit up the pages. Landon character is seriously built around being a dad; everything comes secondary. He is a true gentlemen; sweet, compassionate, thoughtful, yet he was still the perfect Alpha! The most delicious blend that melted my heart.

Jocelyn's "Ice Queen" character was totally relateable. Especially in today's society where a woman works in a male dominated industry, especially sports. She was hard, spitfire smart, witty and confident. I truly loved watching her icy exterior melt as she explored her relationship with Landon. The push and pull between keeping it professional and dying to pursue a personal relationship with him kept the story flowing.

The slow burn sizzle that sparked between these two for over half the book left me anxious for their passion to explode. But for me, I was left a panting hot mess in the corner still waiting. Their love was incredibly tender and slow burning. I was expecting a little more intensity and fire between them when it was finally time to seal the deal.

So whilst being slightly underwhelmed by parts of the story, I was swooning at others. I will definitely be checking out more by Lily Kate, as her emotional writing style drew me in.

Fun and sexy sports romance between a hockey player single dad with a spitfire of a daughter and a feisty sports agent!

Boss Girl is a fun and sexy romance between a hockey player single dad and a feisty sports agent. With a mix of light-heartedness, a little tension, some heartfelt scenes, and a spitfire of a little girl, I really enjoyed this sports romance that didn’t have any typical or unnecessary drama. While this is part of a series, you do not need to read the previous book as it can be a standalone read with a HEA.

Told from dual perspective, Boxer and Jocelyn have a simmering attraction that sizzles from start to finish with the couple finding that when circumstances throws the two together it may just lead them to a HEA that they didn’t even realise they wanted based on their previous painful experiences with love. Both are very loveable characters and I adored the relationship both Boxer and Jocelyn have with his daughter, Charli, the little sassy girl playing an important role through the whole book. For those who read the first book ,like me, I found Jocelyn completely surprised me as I was a little apprehensive of her but her story completely swept me away.

I thoroughly enjoyed this well written, HEA, standalone book and would highly recommend to those looking for a light hearted sexy sports romance (not a lot of sport is referred to so if you aren’t a sports fan, you can still easily follow along)! The sweet epilogue ending which ties up the book perfectly.

Jocelyn and Boxer put the sprinkles on top this HEA sundae! Jocelyn needs the win and she wants Boxer to be her newest client. He is not like her typical prospect though - he doesn't seem to care about what she can she can do for him but rather he wants an agent that is more friend than marketer. This is not her typical MO, she is known as the Ice Queen and sometimes other less favorable monakers. She cannot deny that Boxer is not like other clients - he seems to care about approximately three things: his daughter, hockey, and ice cream. She is cannot help but find his quirks charming, his character winning, and his heart generous. He has this way of melting her carefully crafted icy exterior and touching the real Jocelyn. After everything Boxer went through with Charli’s moms, he has been guarding both of their hearts pretty well. Boxer loves his little lady and very thing in his life revolves around her. So when it comes time to pick a new agent, he needs someone who will understand his first priority is his daughter. When Joss enters the picture looking to snap him up all he can think about is giving her a position that has nothing to do with contracts or endorsements. She is beautiful, smart, and has this quality that is impossible for him to forget about. The chemistry between them is amazing and the fact that his kid is nuts about her is an even bigger plus in her column. But both have been burned before and they will need to trust each other and themselves and the possibility of a bright future. She may be used to calling the shots but he is the one with all the plays.

I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book.

Anyone that is called “The Ice Queen” would be someone you would probably not want much to do with, but Lily Kate does an excellent job of turning Jocelyn Jones around in Boss Girl. Ms. Kate not only makes Jocelyn a person you would want to know, she does it with panache.

We met Jocelyn in Ms. Kate’s debut novel, Delivery Girl, and she was not a very likeable person. She has a determined streak in her to be the best at what she does as a Sport Agent. To some people, this comes off as bitchy. She wants Landon Boxer, as a client, and she’s using that determination to go after him.

Landon Boxer is totally a Book Boyfriend that all of us will want. Hot Hockey player, sweet single Father, and complete swoon-worthy man. He knows he’s going to need a new agent, but he isn’t one to go for the lights, glamour, and big bucks. He wants someone he can trust – a friend.

Jocelyn has to learn how to be what Landon needs and in some ways he helps her. Also thrown into the mix is Charli, Landon’s daughter. Despite Jocelyn’s apprehension that she doesn’t know how to be around children, watching her and Charli’s relationship develop alongside the relationship of Jocelyn and Landon is quite pleasing.

I guess what blew me away most about this book was Landon’s proposal that he “woo” Jocelyn to make sure that their relationship would be what both of them wanted in the long run. It was just so heartwarming.

Ms. Kate has added a sparkling addition to her series with outstanding writing and excellent characters.

I haven’t read the first book in this series, so I didn’t have the background story on the “Ice Queen” Jocelyn Jones, but I found that I didn’t need to have read the first book in order to love the second in the series!

Boxer is hands down, the best book boyfriend I’ve read in a while! He’s a strong, tough, seemingly brooding alpha male, but he’s really just a big teddy bear with a heart of gold and a weakness for sprinkles. :) He’s also a single dad who relishes in the opportunity to be a hands on parent to his precocious daughter Charli. He’s loyal and charming, but also cold and detached when he needs to be.

He brings that chill to the ice as one of the star players for a pro hockey team. He’s had the same sports agent forever, but now that Duke (his beloved agent) is retiring, Boxer finds himself being pursued by several cutthroat agents. One of those agents is the “Ice Queen” Jocelyn Jones, but she quickly finds that her no-nonsense, all-business attitude is not the way to woo this particular client.

She changes tactics and tries to become his friend and eventually, as they spend more and more time together, she finds herself thinking less about business and more about the romantic possibilities between herself and Boxer.

Boxer and Jocelyn have great chemistry from the puck drop and their snippy banter is just as fun as their flirting. Once the ice around their hearts finally melts enough to give them a chance to be more than friends, they are hot and super steamy as a couple!

Fun, sexy, flirty single dad romance with a touch of ice hockey and whole lot of heat!

This book was a fantastic read. I loved the character and depth of the story. It was fun, sexy and very real!

When Hockey player Landon Boxer's agent announces his retirement, he knows he is going to have to sign with someone else. However he knows exactly what he wants, he wants someone like Duke, someone who understands that he is a single father and his daughter is his main priority, someone who will look after him and not just see the pound signs.

Sports agent Jocelyn Jones is all about the business. Growing up in the system after her parents death, she has fought hard to become a big name in a mans world. With news of Boxer's situation she is driven to get him on her books.

With a game plan in place She makes her move, however she wast expecting what is thrown in her path. Boxer isn't like other sports men and she has her work cut out for her. She also doesn't expect the feeling he bring out in her.

There is a definite attraction and when Boxer's six year old daughter Charli is thrown into the mix there is a lot more than a contract at stake.
With this couple getting closer, despite their reservations...Can they go the distance?

There is also the added stress of another agent fighting for Boxer's signature on the dotted line and he is willing to fight dirty.

I would recommend this book 100%. With all the twists it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Joselyn Jones is a sports agent, and she wants to sign, Landon Boxer a hockey player, to her roster. The only thing is there are two major flaws, that are standing out if you are a bystander, looking at this situation. One is that Joss has the nickname, Ice Queen, and, Blonde Bitch. The second is that there is nothing you can bribe, Boxer with that, would entice him, to sign with you besides, friendship.

Although, Boxer wasn't sure that, Joss was even the right agent, to sign with. Due to the drive for the big endorsement, they always want to push, down your throat. However, he knew his libido sure did take notice, and, it is standing at attention, each time he even thought of her. Both worry if it is worth mixing, work with pleasure.

There is a snake in their myths. He is looking to take advantage of their time, situations, and them as people. So, they need to watch their backs, but, somehow he is finding out where they are, and best, to do sneak attacks. Showed up at a school, to do a hard sell, and, at a photo shoot in NY, also. Not good at all and kind of stalkerish if you ask me.

Now for the character I like, Joss from book one, I disliked her a lot. However, in this book, I fell in love with her. This book took off all her far edges. As for, Boxer I loved all how laid back he is and how much her really loved fatherhood. His daughter, Chari, has him wrapped seven different ways, and then some. However, she does add a lot of comic relief, to the story.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily writing an honest review.

What do you get when you put an 'ice queen' and a hot hockey stud together? A funny, romantic book! Jocelyn is a female in the 'man's world'. As a sports agent she has a reputation as being stand offish. As a reader I first met Jocelyn in Delivery Girl and admit I didn't really like her character. This book offers a look into why she works so hard and is the way she is.

Landon Boxer is the hockey stud she is trying to land as a client. He is really a simple man who loves his daughter, hockey, and ice cream...in that order. He finds himself in need of a new agent. This throws him and Jocelyn together.

As Jocelyn and Boxer get to know each other, they find that first impressions can be wrong. The characters have an undeniable attraction to each other. Neither necessarily want to mix business and pleasure but sometimes the universe has other ideas.

I fell in love with Lily Kate's writing in her debut novel, Delivery Girl, and this book did not disappoint. She created believable characters and a storyline that flowed. She included the right balance of romance and humor to create a realistic story. I can't wait for the next book!
