Zeke One rule, only one rule women need to follow when they're with me. Don’t ask for more. This rule is in place for a reason, you won't get more of what’s not there to give. Bexley He is striking, and he's all man. He is also the devil, or so I believe him to be. I gave him my heart, not realizing I was doing so. He likes to break me down, so I'm a shell of the person I once was. He's chipping away at me, bit by bit. Though I’m not as weak as he thinks, and when I can’t handle it anymore, I will come back swinging.
USA Today Best Selling Author T.L. Smith loves to write her characters with flaws so beautiful and dark that you can’t turn away from. Her books have been translated into several languages. If you don’t find her in her home town of Queensland, Australia you can usually find her travelling around the world to sitting on a beach in Bali, to exploring Alcatraz in San Francisco or walking the streets of New York.
I'm just going to put this out there, I have a thing for degradation stories. Yeah, Yeah, I know that's sick and twisted, but it is what it is. I like them. A lot. When I read the blurb to this one, I could not wait to get it started. It was everything I wanted it to be. Zeke was a cold hearted dick. He used women and threw them away. He loved breaking them down, piece by piece, leaving them completely destroyed, and wasn't ever sorry about the way he treated them. Then he met Bexley, and she was smokin' hot. He couldn't wait to start breaking her down next. Only, Bexley wasn't desperate for his attention, and eager like he wanted her to be. She even walked away from him, and avoided his calls and texts. Avoided him like the plague. And then Zeke actually worked for Bexley's attention, and their relationship took off from there. Zeke starts to fall for Bexley, so he gets cold and distant with her, hurting her. Bexley tries to stay unaffected by Zeke, but it's impossible for her. There's a magnetic draw between these two and they just cannot walk away from each other, no matter how hard they try. There's was so much packed into this story, it stayed interesting the entire time, and the twists and turns in this one made it impossible to see where the story would end up. Oh yeah, and the sex between these two dynamic characters was amazing. This was one hot and steamy read.
I enjoyed every second of this fantastic story and I cannot wait to read Aria's story in the sequel.
I like twisted and compicated heroes and this book had them! It's a story about two completeley different people and how they manage to get together despite their very different personalities. I enjoyed the book but I had a few problems with the characters and storyline. I won't go into detail but I really think that some of the heroes' actions were a bit reckless and the heroine's behavior a bit unrealistic; to me at least. I think the book deals with many subplots that weren't developed properly- especially the BIG twist regarding the heroine's identity, but overall, the writing is good. I just had a problem connecting with the characters and that made the book fall a little flat for me... But, the storyline was refreshing. I have not read anything like it. 3.5 Stars I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Three stars for the degradation, hot sex scenes, and the twist. BUT, and here's a huge but... I cannot abide personality transplants, especially in my Alpha men, and Zeke--beautiful, gruff, caveman talking Zeke--does exactly that. He goes from dominating, uncaring, wanting to break her, to lovesick puppy It's a personal preference.
Also, and this is in the hopes the author is reading the reviews.... Please, please fix the typo in the quote by e.e. cummings. It's not, "Be of love a little more careful that of anything." It's "than of anything." Thank you. :)
An entertaining enough read, especially considering it was on KU. The storyline wasn't bad, and I liked that it wasn't all puppies and unicorns, but the writing was distorted and choppy. Also, things just kept getting revealed that made no sense with the storyline thus far. I swear, at times I thought to myself that this book's ADHD was worse than mine, like the author wanted to add a new plot-line halfway through. If it wasn't different from a lot of other books in this genre, I would've quit, but I liked that it was a complicated love story and in that sense, it didn't disappoint.
But her, she’s a league of her own. And I want to conquer her, devour her, make her mine. Then bend her to my will. She seems hypnotized by me, most women do. But she has something different hiding behind her eyes when she looks at me. A spark some would say.
Bexley moves in with her friend in LA (I think? Famous people were randomly there) after leaving the family business and her parental-approved fiancee. She wants real, all-consuming love, and of course, she finds it... with Zeke. Zeke is a bad guy, a guy involved in a lot of criminal dealings. He's also a straight-up asshole to Bexley. He may dick her down, but he also treats her like just a f*cktoy. Don't worry, though... Bexley is one of those people that can be pushed really far, but when she snaps, well, watch the f*ck out.
The tables have turned and now I’m the fool, a fool that’s in love. Fuck! Why did she creep her way into my black heart? Why did I let her?
The side characters were interesting enough, but Bexley and Zeke were both hard to like at times. They definitely had a toxic relationship, there's no doubt about that. Of all people, I definitely understand the pull towards someone that is straight poison. I liked how realistic that part of their story was- Bexley knew she wasn't getting what she deserved, but for a while, something kept her from leaving. In Zeke's defense, he was very clear about what he was willing to give to her, so I wasn't necessarily mad at him for the way he treated her. My problem was more the inconsistencies in his behavior. Like, he swore up and down that he's careful with who he allows into his life and home because of his shady dealings, but more than once he commented that he barely even knew who Bexley was... even though she was living with him. That just didn't make any sense to me. He was definitely sexy, though, and I preferred his POV to hers (it was alternating).
Another thing I liked: When both Zeke and Bexley do or want something, they go balls out. I definitely appreciated that about them. I also liked that Zeke didn't have a COMPLETE personality transplant for the inevitable grovel. Really, the storyline itself was fine, but something about the writing did NOT flow seamlessly in my brain. That could just be me, though. So, if you want a story about imperfect, headstrong people who make a lot of mistakes but aren't afraid to go after what they want, and if you don't mind your heroes on the wrong side of good, you could very well enjoy this book.
“I know, but we never did this. I never wooed you. They say that’s what you’re meant to do. I didn’t, I went straight for what was mine, what I wanted.” “I was never yours,” I squeak out. “But you were, as I am yours.” I try shaking my head. “You’re not, you had your rules. I accepted the rules. I didn’t ask for more. So I left.” “You didn’t have to ask for more, you had it all to begin with.”
Oh this book is good, it's good for many reasons. One thing I did find hard with Degrade is exactly what categories to put it in, because it touches on a hell of a lot, it has darkish elements along with romance, it has hints of trafficking along with kidnapping. It packs a lot in indeed, it's flippin great!
The writing and style, I can pretty much guarantee T.L. will deliver me a cracking good read in her style and yep she's done it again.
The story, T.L. took it to places I wasn't quite expecting, that's always a plus.
The characters. Oh man, let's start with Zeke. Bloody infuriating, dominating, uncaring, unfeeling asshole - and I LOVED him! God this man is all kinds if fucked up and he's brilliant. He's your worst nightmare but brilliant book boyfriend material. He's so bad, he's sooooo good. Bexley, oh yes she should have run for the hill at the start, but hang on, oh no she shouldn't. Bexley has hidden talent and wow, when it's unleashed watch out. This girl had me screaming at her, awwing for her and pretty much phoarring for her too!
Secondary character, Hot damn they were good! Aria - oooh I loved her yet I didn't love her job! She's going to wind me up immensely in her book I can see it coming! I want to love her but she's terrible what she does! Dunker - oh man - BANG! Mika - now there's a man I want to know more about, hopefully will in Aria's story. The secondary characters including Bexley's dad are all great and play their parts very well.
I really was hooked from the get go with Degrade, I loved it and I wouldn't hesitate in telling you to read it if you like you men messing with your head, having you scream at your kindle and then swoon over them too. Yeah I can see some reviewers arguing over Bexley and her choices, but no way - they shouldn't because without her choices there would be no story, end of, so I hope they give her a break ☺ I received Degrade in return for an honest review my reviews are my own and 100% honest.
Dang … Another great read by the lady who gave us The Take Over Series … love them and absolutely love this. There is a shock value in this release that you brain will explode right there the second you read it. YUP . no lie. So short version because no spoilers.
Zeke is hot but dang he is brutal. He takes women and enjoys breaking them down; their will, their spirit, their heart until there is nothing. He likes the game. Zeke is a very dangerous man running a dangerous game. He is untouchable. Zeke … harsh. My entire mind was warped by this character as I wasn’t ever mad at him. I was more memorized by his actions and what he did .. sick … Yup I know .. don’t judge.
Bexley cannot love Tragger. She has to tell him. When she does she bolts. Tragger loved her. He worshipped her. They were childhood friends. She was expected to be with him. So why did she not want him and why did she allow this cruel man break her into a shell of who she was. How could she love a man like Zeke when there was nothing to be returned?
OH MY LORD …. That’s all I can say. There are several more characters. One in particular that I loved; the woman entrapped my brain; Aria. I have read so many books on what her character is involved in but on the flip side. I think I seriously need therapy because I love her character and what she does and is.
Degrade is a stand alone. Its finished when you flip the last page but your brain will not be intact. I have warned you! So now go grab it up. This is excellent.
What I can tell you is her story is next – Twisted Perception. – Uh huh .. LOVE these titles.
Review to post on Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets on release day. I was gifted an ARC for an honest review. Thank you! Trust me I wish I could write more but we don't do spoilers in our reviews. YOU NEED THIS BOOK! That's all you need to know.
This book is a cute Alpha male/crazy intense fast read romance book. This is the first TL Smith book that I have read. The book starts of when Bexley decides to leave New York and heads to sunny Los Angeles. While she is in LA she meets bad boy ZEKE. He is hot and really bad. The relationship is like a bomb about to go off anytime. He makes her fall for him... then She does the same thing. This book is kind of funny.. just because this author offered everything. Zeke who is a bussiness man turns into a club president of the top MC. Which kind of made me laugh because I have read many MC book and Prez is a full time job.(parttime) hmmmm. Then Bexley is a FBI agent...At that point I was busting the laughs...because she puts Zeke in jail but then Zeke gets out....hmmmm (author did not really go into the spec but How did he get such a great lawyer that made magic like that) Then She gets kidnapped and ZEKE rescues her...Then Bexley and Zeke live happy ever after. My questions are is she still a FBI agent? And why put the whole cervical cancer I cant have kids thing. Added a little to much for these 2.
This book had a lot going on...But I still loved that nasty chemistry. This is not for everyone. This book had so many senarios...I am surprise that these 2 ended up together. either way loved it! 4 love love love love!
Holy sh*t this book was an amazing read. From page one I was hooked and had to keep on reading right to the end. TL Smith has really produced a read that is filled with twists and hot scenes.
Zeke is a powerful man, but he also has a cold and twisted heart. He is one of those men that always gets what he wants and once he has had his fill he will dump them and move on. Thing is you can't help but love him in a sick and twisted way.
Bexley is leaving a life that she has grown accustomed to. In a relationship with Tragger, she feels there is no spark, and it is just easy, boring. He worships the ground she walks on, but she needs more.
Zeke sees Bexley and he wants her, little does he know he will break of his rules for her. He is still cold, and wants to break her.
Bexley hates that she loves Zeke and wants him to thaw his cold and twisted heart.
Bexley has secrets, ones that ultimately hurt Zeke in a way he never thought possible.
This read has it all, and I loved every minute of it. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

I thought this was more than a 3 star but not quite a 4 due to a few things. The last 25% of the book I felt like the alpha male disappeared and I was reading a completely different character. The twist was great but abruptly went unused and just cast aside. I did love the basic plot and the supporting characters were great.
And the Queen of twists and turns has done it again....
I didnt think that Pure Punishment would ever get topped by TL, but Degrade has taken the #1 spot. It was absolutely an amazing read, and there was twists I never saw coming every time I turned around. Just when I thought I had it figured out, a curve ball got thrown at me that had my jaw on the floor because I never saw it coming. I LOVE this about the author. You never know what is actually going to happen and in the end you are left in a mind fog of what the hell just happened. And let me just warn you now, NOTHING is as it seems in this book, NOTHING.
Zeke-- Iam totally in love with him. He is a complete asshole and I know Iam a weird one, but the bigger asshole they are, the more I love them. And I love when the main guy is that guy that everyone loves to hate. The asshole that you wonder why in the world the heroine is putting up with him. But looks can be deceiving. Because when the doors are closed, the asshole is a different person, and in the end he ends up redeeming himself. Now, I will admit, I did not think Zeke had any redeeming qualities. I kept thinking he was going to end up that rare asshole alpha male that had nothing redeeming about himself and you are left wishing the heroine had just wiped her hands clean of him and walked away. But, when it came down to it, Zeke didnt let me down. And that is all Iam going to say about that because I don't want to give anything away.
Bexley turned out to be my favorite kind of heroine. Strong and independent and wont be a door mat. Now, in the beginning I will admit that I was thinking I was going to want to throttle her and then the author for writing such a weak, meek, doormat of a heroine. Especially since TL is known for her strong alpha women. And TL's women have always had the most amazing balance between their Alpha nature and their ability to let their men be the Alpha they are. Standing up for themselves and standing their ground while at the same time, knowing when to stand down and let their men take care of them. She is bloody brilliant in this area. And Bexley ended up not letting me down. She had a plan and she executed it with a brilliance you never see coming. As I was reading, the little bread crumbs the author was dropping had me thinking one thing, and then out of no where, the truth is revealed and I thought my head was going to explode because I NEVER saw it coming, NEVER.
I have to throw in, that I always love the authors side characters. Her side characters always add to the story being told, without over taking anything, and at the same time you know that without them, the story would not be as good as it was without them. And I cant come up with one book I have read by this author, that she couldnt spin off another book based on any one of her supporting cast members. And the same applies to Degrade.
In Degrade we get the pleasure of meeting Aria. And although she is a supporting cast member, I freaking LOVED this woman hard. She had a strong presence throughout the story, and her constant craziness added to the story. And of coarse, she is not who she appears to be, but I expect nothing less from the author. I swear I would consider switching teams for her. She is who I want to be when I grow up. Bold, confident, takes no shit, in control and never backs down. Yet for those that she cares about, she will lay down her life without a second thought, and she always has their backs, even if she doesnt agree with them. She was vocal about her opinions and would tell you she thought you were wrong, but she would still take your back as if she agreed with you. And I absolutely adored her. Aria added a ton to this particular story. And Degrade would not have been the same without her.
Another aspect of the authors books I have always loved, is her non traditional HEA. Although every one of her stories ends with an HEA, they are never your typical cookie cutter ending. They are unique and atypical. Yet they are still a happily ever after. You can tell the author has found her groove, because her books just keep getting better and better. Her ability to throw in the twists and turns that leave you reeling is astounding and once you have finished that last page, you are left panting for more. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
If you love a good romantic suspense, a good mind bend and a book that makes your jaw drop because nothing is as it seems, the twists leave your jaw on the floor and wondering where in the world did that come from..... get to one clicking, because Degrade will not let you down.

SO Reviews are suppose to be honest right? Yes I gave if 5 stars because it was well deserved *PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW* . When I first started this book by chapter 3 or 4 i wasnt sure I was going to be able to finish. FOR ME it jumped to much and didnt really give you that much before it would jump. It seemed to only give small parts then it was a week or two later. BUT as I kept reading it kept pulling me further and further in. after getting so far there was no coming back I absolutely had to finish and I am so glad that I did. There were twists that I never seen coming. I was literally taken back like OMG that did not just happen and did she just say what I think she said. Is she really who I'm thinking she is.
The characters are all a bit of a mystery through at least half the book. They are explosive when in the bedroom or the pool or heck wherever they end up getting it on at. But you dont know much about Zeke except his women are one night only nothing more and hes dangerous. He doesnt love, doesnt know how to, doesnt want to that is until Bexley. Bexley is not who you think she is and when you find out the truth about her WOW what a shock to my system that was. But bexley takes what she can get from Zeke but knows when shes ready for more she needs to walk away even though she knows she will be walking away without her heart. Zeke degrades her and uses her to his own advantage (basically for sex) But what happens when Bexley makes him feel? Can he fall in love with her or were they doomed from the start?
I cannot wait to read Aria's story and more from T.L. Smith
I love all of TL’s work and Degrade did not disappoint me!
Zeke is used to treating woman badly and he does it so well. He uses them and gets what he wants from them and then he lets them go. When he meets Bexley he treats her exceptionally horrible, to the point of degrading her as the title suggest, even though he realises that she is a woman he doesn’t want to let go. He doesn’t know how to do relationships and seems to be a little lost with these feelings he has for her.
Bexley finds herself losing her true self along the way with Zeke but like most woman, she stays hoping that he will change his ways and maybe be the man that she wants and needs. Kudos to her for hanging in there and trying to work for what she wanted.
The second half of the book picks up pace and surprises are revealed along the way which leave you shell shocked. There are some suspense and mystery elements together with some darker themes that you wouldn’t expect but then this is TL’s work and she loves to throw different things at you along the way.
I cannot wait for the next book with one of the secondary characters.
I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Tanya.
Spoiler Ahead This was a pretty good read. Bexley is out at a party with her bestfriend Ember when she first meets Zeke. She's just fled her life and is looking to start afresh, and a man like Zeke was not meant to be a part of it. But men Zeke always get what he wants. He demands her submission and never promises forever. Bexley knows he isn't good for her that he will only break her heart but convincing her head and her heart to be on the same page is proving difficult. Both of them will hurt the other their secrets and lies will threaten their relationship. I liked both of these character's. Zeke is controlling and in the beginning rather cold which only made me like this bad boy even more. Bexley was a strong character and she didn't back down I liked that she had a backbone. The sex between these two was hot. This was my first time reading this author but not my last. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Degrade is a stand-alone novel by TL Smith and is gritty and full of surprises.
Zeke, a man who has no idea about commitment or even wanting to commit to a relationship, meets Bexley, a gorgeous, talented and strong young woman. Bexley loses herself in Zeke and starts to become someone she is not, and along the way she starts to realise exactly what is happening. Zeke is a man who likes to break women down, use them, abuse them and toss them away. However, when he meets Bexley, he finds it hard to let her go. He treats Bexley quite badly at times, but Bexley stays hoping that he will change. Ultimately, of course, things do begin to change and the story gets into full swing. This story is full of suspense, some real surprises and I really liked it.
I cannot say enough good things about this book, I enjoyed the storyline and the way it was told. Congratulations TL on another great book. This is a five-star read for me.
Usually reviews/ratings don't lie, but I guess I stand corrected. What a hodge-podge! The first half of this book was terrible - there was no description of the setting and the characters weren't fleshed out. Then, half way through the writing changed and all of a sudden the setting was written in and the characters were described like they were being introduced for the first time. It's like the author originally started writing from that point, and when he/she came up short at the end of the novel, they quickly tacked on a bunch of stuff for the beginning. From the middle on, the book was pretty good. Unfortunately, the two halves didn't match. Characters were different (including the main ones!) and the plot changed (things that happened in the first half were ignored in the second) - so basically it was just a waste of my time.
the book has a twist to it so that was nice, but i hated how the heroine gave in too quickly, i hate weak characters, and she didn't feel like she stood up for herself at all, oh and the hero is so annoying and not even alpha, he's just pure annoying…
over all 3 stars for effort, i truly love t.l smith's book and thats how i go to this book, but this one wasn't for me, i think a reader should read it tho.
I thought it was a nonsense story. I hate women who justify love to put up with the guy's stupidity.
Bexley always had double intentions, whether she wanted to or not, with Zeke, but I don't think that justifies everything she put up with from the guy, let alone how she belittled herself for that love.
Even though he came to his senses, I'd like to think I would have sent him far away before putting up with so much.
We love TL Smith's writing style, from her strong heroines to her complicated, twisted alpha's; Degrade did not disappoint. The twists, internal battles, conflict, humor and mystery will keep you enamoured. Zeke is one of those male leads that you'll more than likely hate but like a car accident you can't peel your eyes away. Some of the actions from Bexley will leave you wondering 'what the hell is she thinking or why the hell are you staying', but there's always a method to the madness!
Bexley is in a one sided loving relationship that really isn't going anywhere, how can it when she doesn't love her boyfriend like one should. Gaining the courage she finally free's herself from the cage she has kept herself trapped in. She wants to feel love, really feel it, have that spark and passion with someone. She wants someone to love her as much as she loves them.
Wanting a new start, she moves from New York to LA, living with her friend Ember. Working with Ember has its perks she is new in town ready to find man and heading to one of the hottest parties. Finding a quiet place outside, she's surprised when she hears a sexy sinful voice from behind her, being dark she couldn't make out his looks. As quickly as the smalltalk started it ended. A perfectly put together man appears in front of her, when he speaks that voice just melts her. The mystery voice she heard matches his appearance.
Zeke is a sexy, domineering and controlling man, he is very secretive about his life for good reason. He has a rules he sticks by, he gets his fill and moves on, he always gets what he wants no questions asked and he has set his sights on Bexley.
"I can’t help but look and admire, he is the devil after all."
Zeke is very forward in what he wants, Bexley is not used to this but throws caution to the wind and takes a chance. After an explosive night she's brought back to life when Zeke discards her. Thrown by his lack of expressions and somewhat rudeness she decides to leave him as a regretful one night stand. Only thing is no one has ever made her feel the way Zeke did in the short amount of time they were together. While he may be invading her every thought she is trying to ignore him and move on.
"I don’t know how to control these thoughts and feelings that are consuming me. I don’t why I have them."
Zeke continues his pursuit, he invades her space and comes back for more, he wants to break her down have her willing for his every desire. Bexley craves being in his presence, Zeke does things to her body that she wants more of. It's a constant internal battle her head saying no and her heart saying yes.
"I don’t want you to think I’m your happily ever after, Bexley. I’m not. I’m your hell, you just haven’t realized it yet.”
What's a girl to do? No one has ever made her feel the way Zeke does, there is so much passion between them. At the same time he is slowly chipping away at who she is breaking her down she is a shell of her former self, she knows what she needs to do but doing it is another thing... She wanted love and passion, she found it but can her love be enough for the two of them.

"Say it because you want me to be your last breath. Say it because I'm all you see. Say it because I'm in you, I'm stuck to your soul. Say it to me like you mean it, not to make yourself feel good."
Who is Bexley? A vibrant head strong woman that walks away from a perfect partner as she feels that essential spark is absent to make a new life for herself, starting again away from her past and family. And yet she quickly hands over her determination for something else when Zeke chooses her to be his. Giving herself over completely to the enigma that is Zeke, Bexley seems to fall under his spell completely. Trying valiantly to adhere to his rules she becomes the perfect Stepford Wife, a chef in the kitchen and a whore pretty much anywhere Zeke wants it! Her heart is exposed and she keeps mainly inline with his vision of an ideal girlfriend. Slowly pushing the boundaries of their relationship who will break first?
Zeke is a cold hearted man, toying with women, using them, breaking them and degrading them until nothing is left. His own personal game as he feels incapable of that elusive emotion. Powerful, wealthy and respected in his vast circle of peers Zeke is a mystery. Head of his own organisation the truth of who and what he is becomes cleverly revealed, stripping back the layers as the plot twists and passions ignite. Can he accept Bexley may be the instrument of his downfall and his saviour? Or will his nature to destroy and own crush her completely?
Degrade is a stand alone. Written in a blunt and harsh manner in the style of the main character Zeke, I loved the shadows and secrets that haunted their feelings for one another. Lies and deeper motives take precedence over their true feelings for another and this book will literally leaving you feeling shook up and rattled. Brutal and bloody their story takes no prisoners and contains some darker elements that I hope will be more fully explored in the forthcoming book. Zeke and Bexley would no face no issues if only they could remain naked throughout the book as reality just fades away for them the moment they touch. An engaging and interesting read, I was intrigued and enthralled by the story characters and their secrets.

You take. No permission required. No questions asked. If you like what you see, you take it, you break it, you bend it to your will. Love will never enter the equation. Feelings are never required. Your a taker, plain and simple. And once you’ve had your fill, you walk away. No commitment, no attachment, nothing. You just simply move on. This is who you are. Your built this way. Only your rules matter. It’s that simple.
But what you never bargain on is that one girl. That girl who will change you. That girl that will crawl so far under your skin that you don’t know how to breathe. You don’t know how to cope. You don’t know what to do.
This is Zeke and his story.
Never in a million years did Zeke ever believe that one chance meeting with a beautiful girl would completely change his life.
Her name.
Bexley.
Breaking it off with her fiancé, Bexley leaves home and moves in with her college friend. Finding a job, things for Bexley are looking up. She is no longer being controlled by her fiancé or her father, she’s just living her life and trying to find herself again.
But what happens when Bexley and Zeke’s worlds collide?
You have one hot, steamy, dark, confronting, sinfully delicious read.
Degrade is nothing short of absolute brilliance. From beginning to end we were taken on a roller coaster ride that left us completely consumed. It’s raw, gritty and down right sexy. It leaves you wanting more and more with every page turned. It’s highly emotional, often finding ourselves laughing our butts off or wanting to scream at the top of our lungs. The hate we felt was immense, but we soon fell in love, making us feel the warmth and love bleeding out of the pages. Ohh and god damn the sex……Explosive!!!
We can’t recommend Degrade highly enough and is a definite must read that shouldn't be missed.
To TL Smith. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to read and review Degrade. We absolutely love Zeke and Bexley’s story and can’t wait for the next instalment.
To readers……Get on it guys, you will not be disappointed.
“He what I’d say the devil sculpted. Why the devil you ask? Because God would never be so cruel as to make a man so perfect as him to torture me. He’d give me a man to love, a man that would show me an ounce of love back. So, he must be the devil. He’s perfect in every way, except the way that counts.”
5 stars. Wow this book was a total roller coaster ride!! You feel for the characters and you want to punch others!! I read this book in one sitting it was so d@mn good!!!
Bexley is tired of her life and her fiance, she’s no longer in love with him. So she leaves and heads to California to live with her best friend. While there her best friend hires her as her assistant and while at a party one night she meets Zeke lurking in the shadows. She’s attracted to him instantly and can’t say no to him. Zeke has one rule and that rule is that women follow him and never ask him for more, because he won’t/can’t give it to them. Unfortunately for Bexley, after one day with Zeke, that’s exactly what she wants….more. She ends up living with him but with no commitment from him and he starts to break her down and she’s turning into a girl she swore she never would. Having enough of his games, she leaves and the twist this books takes after that is crazy!!! Hold on for the wild ride!!!

Zeke
"I am the most dangerous and richest son-of-a-bitch in America."
He always gets what he wants, no questions asked. He is secretive yet infinitely powerful. He doesn't love, ever. He doesn't have feelings so there is no emotional connection to be had. He is a stone cold man who can have any one he wants and right now he wants Bexley.
"I don't want you to think I'm your happily ever after, Bexley. I'm not. I'm your hell, you just haven't realized it yet."
Bexley
She knows what she is signing up for. She knows that the longer she stay with him the lower she will feel about herself. But she keeps coming back for more, and more and more until she has nothing left.
"Hoping and praying to the Gods above that we don't shatter each other. But I have a feeling it's inevitable."
When Bexley gets to the point where enough is enough, she does the sensible thing and leaves but is it sensible or was it something more. Then things get perfectly twisted because on the surface nothing is quite as it seems.
I originally I had a hard time with Bexley and her choices, but she comes out with some real surprises. She is not the person I originally thought she was and that made me like her considerably more than before. Then there is Zeke, despite his despicable behavior, I would have gone down his highway to hell too. Their chemistry, regardless of their motives or feelings was intense.
This is a story that will stick with me as I think back and dissect the nuances that I missed the first time through. There are secrets and suspense and all of the things that made me devour this book. I am now left wanting the rest of the story that Ms. Smith started.
This is my first read from this author. Holy fuck what a great read. I breezed through this book it was that good, the two main characters are so well written that I couldn't put this book down to go to bed. I got up in the middle night and thought I can read for 30 mins and when i finally had to get up I read the rest of the book. Love the two main characters Zeke and Bexley, Zeke your typically alpha wants what he wants when he wants it and has no problem letting Bexley knows and she matches him perfectly even got all possessive on him and told a girl to back off he's mine. Another characters I loved is Aria what a fiesty, ballsy girl she is badassery!!! I did a happy dance when I saw she's getting her own book.
Again T.L gives us strong female characters, Bexley's old and new girlfriends created an intricate web of support, friendship, humour and ultimate strength for her to find her heart, risk everything, fight her inner demons and ultimately find her true love.
This was simply incredible, Zeke and Bexley belonged together, I was captivated by this story and the mind bending twists that had me gripped to those pages. The author wove an incredible secretive story that had you wondering who was playing who? I thought Zeke had control then it transferred to Bexley and then we had other characters playing their part and interfering and causing harm.
Zeke and Bexley, can I say I simply loved their names, the cryptic scenes within the story were well set and I could imagine Zeke's house and I wanted to be in his bed. Their sexual scenes were so hot and intense - fantastic writing.
I really liked how we were introduced to both characters, their attraction formed on the pages and then we were transported a month ahead to their current relationship as such. I did not feel as if I missed out on any details, the inner turmoil of these characters had me devouring the pages.
Guest Review by Tammy Cole This is the first book I have read by this author and let me just say I had mixed feelings throughout the whole book. Fair warning that the title of this book is exactly how the main character, Zeke treats Bexley through the first 40% of the book. So with that said if you have a hard time reading a book along these lines you are forewarned. I was experiencing so many emotions for Zeke and none of them good but I could NOT put this book down. I was hooked and I am so glad I stuck with it because what a book it turned out to be. I don't want to give anything away as I believe that is what makes this such a good read.
One of the reasons I loved this book was because I felt so many different emotions that I applaud the author for bringing them out of me. This book is a standalone but I am excited that there will be a second book with one of the secondary characters in this story.
