Spitfire #3

Legally Ours

Rate this book
Skylar Crosby knows betrayal. She knows that deep stab when those closest to you deceive your fragile trust. And she knows what it's like when your secrets cost you everything––including the love of your life.

Now kidnapped, scared, and alone, Skylar has no reason to believe in her rescue. Not when she can still see Brandon's face as she smashed his heart to pieces. Even if Skylar can get out of her physical prison, can she escape the cage created by her guilt?

Brandon Sterling spent the last fifteen years desperately trying to reinvent himself: as a lawyer, a businessman, and now a candidate for public office. But as these daily stressors mount alongside a dangerous threat to his family and loved ones, the old Brandon reemerges: a ruthless hoodlum who'd rather use fists than brains to solve his problems.

Now, when the one he loves most is taken, can Brandon move past her deceit in order to find her? And if he does, will Skylar still want the man he's become in order to protect her?

This is the third book in the Spitfire Trilogy. Readers will enjoy it most if they have already read Legally Yours (Book 1) and Legally Mine (Book 2).

What comes after a billion? stars

When many moons ago Nicole French contacted me to ask me whether I'd like to review her novel, I would have never imagined how deeply in love I would fall for her books and her characters.

But now I'm here, after finishing the third instalment in the Spitfire trilogy, trying not to get swallowed by the void created by the end of this journey.

These books reminded me of my love for trilogies and series. Because when the narrative isn't constricted in one single novel, you get to know the people beyond the characters And let me tell you, these people are anything but simple. Out of all the characters I've read of so far this year, Brandon and Skylar shine through for their humanity and realism. They are far from perfect, but still manage to result relatable and likable. More than that in case of Brandon ;)

I love you for the way you leave the fireplace on at night for visitors who might stop by unannounced. I love the way you get lost in science and numbers and leave your scratch of papers all over your house. I love the way you've taken on my family like they were your own, protected us when you didn't have to."
[...]I love you because you're the kind of person who will send a woman flowers for six straight weeks to say you're sorry. I love you because you're the kind of man who still shows up in the middle of the night just to walk a girl safely home. The kind of man who will rescue someone even
when they've broken your heart."

But above all else, the reason why I think everyone should read these books is that I've rarely in my reader's life come across such an epic romance. And it's not epic in a "separated by the war" or "mythological star-crossed lovers" way. What makes it epic is that they go through so many things, so, so many things during these three books, and yet they always manage to find a way to be together, to let their love prevail. It's angsty, and it's raw at times. But it's epic.

Brandon and Skylar both have very strong personalities. They clash, they fight, sparks fly, they hurt each other, they make up. But in the end one truth rise above all: they cannot live without the other. And not in a weird dependent kind of way a la Bella Swan. But because their love for one other is so encompassing... there is no way to explain it. You have to feel it. Their existences are simply better when they are together. And for all their differences, from the age gap, to the power gap, to the money gap, they are perfect for one another, they stimulate one other. There is no real disparity and when they are together, they are like in this little bubble of perfection.

This last instalment of the series was the most epic of all. I starts with a boom. I already knew from the ending of book two that it would be amazing because I love when things start in medias res and the whole situation was so adrenalinic. And from there there was never a dull moment. There was a continuous evolution of the story, the characters, of the romance itself. As they say: Ad maiora!

I also want to give the author kudos for the perfect balance she created in the book. Oftentimes the last book in a trilogy is just a giant bowl of happy happy happy, just to appease the reader's craving for a certain couple. But no. Here you can find the whole range of emotions.

Another thing I noticed and appreciated is how a lot of the focus was on Brandon. In book two we have seen Skylar struggling with her family issues, both mother and father-wise, struggling with her personal decision and dealing with a lot of internal conflicts. We had many scenes with her and
Eric, or even Jared. But here, almost the whole narration revolves around Brandon AND Skylar. Them, as a couple. As the title says "Ours" not "Mine" or "Yours" anymore. Not to say that secondary characters get forgotten, but the main focus of the story was more centered on the two MCs.

"It's no mansion on the Commons..." I recalled.
"But it's hoome to me," Brandon finished with a smile. "And then you let me kiss you again, and I knew you were home to me, Red."

As usual for this series, this books is hot as hell and Brandon has easily become one of my top book boyfriends. He's such a rounded character, with so many contradictions and issues. There's something absolutely endearing about him and the way he approaches problems. There's nothing more than Brandon Sterling wishes more than a family and unconditional love. So we see him fighting against his past, PTDS, and all the while trying to understand what he really wants out of life.

But one thing he knows for sure. That he needs his Red by his side. In Legally Ours she's his rock and I loved it. I mean, she's younger than him, a new lawyer, compared to his tycoon status and law firm owner. And yet she's his strength.

So this book is the culmination of their love story and the ending was simply... parfait! I couldn't had envisioned a better ending for the two of them.

Last, but absolutely not least, the writing style. It has gotten better and better with every book and I have no doubt whatsoever that it won't take long before Nicole French goes head to head with the big names in the industry. I won't be waxing any more poetics about her because she knows how much I adore her and her novels. Her books talk by themselves and if you haven't read this series, I'm telling you, you are missing out on an epic romance.

"I was made for one thing, Red," he sad as he pulled me close. "To love you."

It's my book, so, yeah, I'm kind of attached to it. But I particularly enjoyed writing this one because I FINALLY got to bring this story to a close in the best possible way. Skylar and Brandon have been living in my head for years now, and it was incredibly satisfying to tie up the pieces of their complicated story in a way I felt was right for the characters.

Look, in my mind, this trilogy is as much about the personal growth that real love can produce as it is about chemistry or suspense. As so many of you have noted in your reviews of the first two books, Skylar and Brandon are really complicated, passionate, and at times frustrating characters. Many of you wanted to hurl your kindles across the room; some people didn't even get past the first few chapters of Book I. But to those of you who did, who made it all the way through their story to see if they could learn enough to love each other: this book is for you.

I finished all 3 books in less than a week. This is the kind of book that if you start reading it you'll finish it. I feel like this book was good but not that good. I would rate it 3 starts. I did enjoyed reading it though.

A five star series from start to finish!

I have been looking forward to reading Skylar & Brandon’s story for a while now, and I’m so happy to say that this series did not disappoint. The Spitfire series has had me hooked from the very start and it has ticked every single one of my boxes. It was both swoon worthy and steamy and contained enough drama and suspense to keep me turning those pages. This is the third series that I’ve read from Nicole French that I’ve loved. If you are looking for a passionate love story, I highly recommend starting a series by this author. I did read these series’s a little out of order, but that hasn’t caused me any major spoilers. The only thing is that reading this series gave me more of an insight into Jane & Eric’s beginning, so I am now left wanting to reread their story all over again. I might just have to purchase the audiobook.

I just realized I somehow never reviewed this. So the capsule summary is that this is bad. The first book was trashy but admittedly engrossing. The second book was 100% unnecessary, nothing happens that could not have been covered in one chapter in book one. This book, well at least things actually occur, so better than book two. But to say this series was stretched out beyond reason is a spectacular understatement. Basically, the whole of this three book series could have easily be one book --one book with fewer pages than this third volume alone. Trashy porny romances, especially when they feature lawyers, are my jam, but for goodness sake cut to the damn chase woman. If any editor ever doubts the value of her work she should read this. Editors -- I thank you for your service.

I have been highly anticipating the conclusion to the Spitfire Series. Although I am upset that it is over, I am thrilled with the outcome. This is such an intense and overwhelming story that will take your emotions on a wild roller coaster ride. Brandon and Skylar's journey has been physically and emotionally draining but also an engaging and thrilling adventure. There were times I was laughing, crying and screaming with frustration at the turns in the their journey to each other and happiness.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from Nicole but she exceeded my expectations. In Legally Ours, I felt so connected to Brandon and Skylar as they traversed the obstacles in their relationship to become who they needed to be. When Brandon's past comes back to haunt him, can Skylar step up and be the woman he needs her to be? Can Brandon forgive Skylar for keeping things from him? Will they be able to heal the scars of the past and make it back to each other? Their story is full of guilt, sacrifice, pain, lust, laughter, trust and acceptance. Once they finally find what matters they come together and make it work.

Although it seemed like a long wait for the conclusion, Legally Ours was definitely worth the wait. Get ready for a massive book hangover that will leave you reeling for days. Brava Nicole!

Overall, I really enjoyed each book in this series. The writing continued to be better with each installment. Two strong main characters who definitely pushed and pulled to each other's limits. The storyline was interesting with the "mob" influence, along with two characters who had suffered both loss and hard upbringings -- but a little less Fifty Shades sexual content and a lot more devotion to the protagonists' story building content would have pleased me. Honestly, I don't know how these two were so successful in their careers -- how they ever had time for anything other than sex was mindboggling! Sometimes less is more and in some instances makes the romance even more meaningful. Page-filler sex just doesn't do it for this reader. And for what it's worth, my opinion is half could have been cut and their cup still would have runneth over. In fact, this story would have made a perfect duet.

Nice wrap-up and I still enjoyed the read, but I admit to skimming the pages of rote sexual content.

5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!

Emotional doesn't even come close to describing this book. Intense doesn't even come close either. I could come with every synonym for both of these words and will still come up short.
I had to go back and read the last couple of chapters of Legally Mine as refresher and ended just reading the whole book again so I got a later start on this than I wanted. I'm glad I did though because I needed that refresher.
My heart is still all kinds of wrenched from all of it. Skylar and Brandon had me all kinds of twisted up. At one point, I was so frustrated with Brandon that I threw my kindle. I made sure to throw at a pile of pillows on the couch. I didn't want it to break. I had to see how their story played out.
With this series, Nicole French has landed on my Crazy Ass Stalking list. I will definitely be on the lookout for more from her.

Let me just start by saying HOLY SMOKES YALL! This trilogy is everything and more than I ever expected when I started the first book. It was so engrossing and I couldn't put it down. Needless to say that didn't get any better the more I read and the further I got into the series!

When I wasn't reading on my iPad mini I was reading on my phone. I refused to stop reading, and it only got better with each book.  I am so sad that this is the end of the trilogy! I enjoyed these three books so much!!! If you haven't read these then get on over to Amazon and get all three! You will not be disappointed!

Fantastic ending to a spectacular series - this love story has it all: the intense emotions, smokin' hot sexytimes, and a happily ever after we all dream of. A must-read series for fans of Lauren Blakely and Corinne Michaels.

What an awesome life tale.... Nicole French is an amazing author... I'm captivated by Brandon and Skylar's story.... It's so much of what happens in real life... so many unexpected twists and turns.... so much baggage.... but in the end, LOVE really does conquer all. you'll be totally wrapped up in this trilogy!

At the start of Legally Ours we pick up with Skylar being kidnapped by Messina and Brandon trying to get to her before Victor caused her any harm. This is all coming off of Brandon finding out about Skylar having an abortion.

Brandon has started his campaign for mayor and doesn't need any more drama in his life. He is suffering from a type of PTSD and/or anxiety disorder. Against Skylar and everyone's wishes he decides to handle it in his own ways.

Can Brandon and Skylar ever get back to the way they were? Can they overcome the opinions and judgments of those around them? There are so many obstacles in their way as the trial for Victor Messina looms.

Legally Ours is written from Skylar's point of view. Nicole French is a very detail oriented writer and likes us to have all of the tools we need to develop that mental picture while reading. I could have used a bit more resolution in dealing with Brandon's issues throughout the book. I also found myself feeling sympathetic towards Skylar and all of the stress and humiliation she was put through, but had no way of fighting back against those people. I absolutely hated Corey, I also hate politics, so maybe that's why.

I really enjoyed reading Legally Ours and found myself consumed with it. I just was missing a bit of answers where I needed them, but that is just the way my brain works.

4.5 stars for Legally Ours!

Just how many abused, foster kid turned billionaires are out there? Who are ridiculously handsome, 20s-30s year olds? Some authors would have us believe they are everywhere, just looking for a recently graduated girlfriend. Who wants to fix all their emotional issues.

Be sure to throw in a kidnapping, because you know they will pay that ransom. Solid plot device. Sigh. I was sucked into this story from the first book. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, unless you want some beachy fluff for vacation time.

This book had my head spinning and my emotions a wreck from start to finish in the most glorious way!! Brandon and Skylar's problems picked right back up from where they left off in Legally Mine. No matter how much they cared and loved each other Brandon and Skylar were their own worst enemies when it came to their relationship. Old habits die hard when trying to please the one you love and for Brandon and Skylar's old habits is what got them in trouble in the first place, always doing things or bending the truth to please the other out of obligation or guilt. They were constantly going in circles. Not to mention Brandon's run for mayor, Skylar's new job and the crazy mobster Messina. Trying to rebuild their relationship under the umbrella of things happening in their lives was intense, challenging and emotionally and physically draining. There was a point about half way through the book I wanted to chuck my kindle across the room or climb through so i could strangle certain characters trying to manipulate and change who Brandon and Skylar truly were. I got even more mad when Brandon and Skylar caved. It wasn't who we came to know them to be in the previous books, but at the same time they were still walking on egg shells with each other so they would bend and do anything they thought the other would appreciate and want especially Skylar. Again it came down to guilt. While Skylar desperately tried to do what she could to please Brandon, he was reliving parts of his past, another thing to add to their crazy list of obstacles. Skylar learned a new side of Brandon and with the help of his best friend Kieran learned how to embrace and deal with this new side. She discovered what truly mattered to Brandon and what he wanted more than anything in the world. With this new information Skylar found her inner strength and started fighting for herself and Brandon. Some things they had little control over but the things they did they took head on once they started really communicating with each other. They faced their demons head on and eliminated those who tried to take them down. This book is intense and emotionally draining at times, but overall it's filled with laughter, love and hot steamy scenes. I loved how this book progressed and the outcome! By the end I loved how connected I felt to Brandon and Skylar. All the chaos from the beginning of book one to the end of book three shaped Brandon and Skylar into the people they were supposed to become, individually and as a couple and I absolutely love them!! Great series!!

What a perfect conclusion to a perfect little series about two people just trying to get it together so that they can be together. Skylar and Brandon’s story is messy and sad and dangerous and that is why we love them! There may be a couple spoilers in this review if you haven’t read books 1 & 2 yet, it is the conclusion to an ongoing story. For anyone caught up on the Spitfire Series to this point should be ok to read without getting spoiled. Anyone else: Read ahead at your own risk.

At the beginning Skylar is obviously facing hard times as the second book left us at yet another cliff hanger. We all know it’s going to get resolved but HOW?! What will happen with Messina?? And can Brandon forgive Skylar for her decision making in book 2?? The amount of betrayal and strife in book 2 was palpable, this book is a little more on the up and up, but still with it’s fair share of drama. It is fascinating to read how well this author is able to weave such an enjoyable and captivating story for us.

Brandon’s run for mayor is explored further in this book as well some possible underlying emotional distress that he so heroically refuses to dwell on. His campaign and the image that his team pressures him to take on continue to take it’s toll on Skylar internally. At times it is a marvel what their delicate relationship can endure.

I love these characters so much, they are so real to me. Each character (even our secondary characters) maintains their own character arc throughout all three books, and to me they are so enjoyable because of their relatable situations. Yes they may be millionaire lawyers in New York City but their struggles are human ones, love, abandonment, lying, forgiveness, and the meaning of commitment, just to name a few.

There was one moment between them that made me set the book aside and cry for a few minutes, it hit so close to home.

“What if—” I hiccupped over my words— “what if we don’t—don’t know—how to do anything but hurt each other.
Hurt ourselves.”

In the end, Skylar and Brandon have to finally be honest with each other about who they really are and what they really want. It seems to simple when you are on the outside looking in, but for some people the willingness to make the other person happy can outweigh their willingness to tell the truth. With these two especially, this bottom line is one that these two characters struggle with consistently.

The author tied up all the loose ends of the story is such a perfect way, as a reader I really couldn’t have asked for a better book to end on. I would encourage anyone who enjoys not only a romance but a sensational twisting plot that doesn’t stall for even a moment.

What a way to go! I’m so upset this book trilogy is done but damn it was a totally wicked ride. I honestly can’t wait to read all three books again.

So I just finished reading Legally Ours, Spitfire Book 3, and I’m still experiencing all the feels. I have to admit, when I started Book1, Legally Yours, I downloaded it because it was on Kindle Unlimited and I didn’t expect much since it was a new author to me. I didn’t sleep that night because I couldn’t put it down. It was seriously addictive. I immediately started book 2, Legally Mine, and some parts made me wanted to scream and cry and I didn’t know where the author was taking us, but I couldn’t stop reading. The wait for book 3, Legally Ours, was torturous, but damn, it was worth the wait.

Throughout the whole series, the author, Nicole French, kept up a fast pace story with drama and a bit of action. But I thought the best part of the series was watching the characters develop into more well-rounded people and grow together. Skylar and Brandon are perfectly imperfect characters. They were real. They hurt. They made mistakes. They had some very hot sex. And they learned so much about each other as they feel in love. It was not a quick and easy journey for them, but it was damn interesting. During their journey, I laughed, cried, screamed at my kindle and I fell in love with Skylar and Brandon. I’m positive you will too.

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure where Nicole French was going to take us in this final story, but she did a great job at not just tying up the story lines, but keeping me in suspense on where the story was going. Legally Ours is another Can’t-Sleep-Til-I-Finish book! And best of all, we got a great epilogue to help me with my book/series hangover.

I totally recommend this series. It not a sweet and easy fairy tale, but instead, an engaging tale of ‘real,’ complicated characters who fall in love and have to work hard to ‘live happily ever after’.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this novel. I am voluntarily and freely providing an honest review.

This is the final book in the series and the books need to be read in order.

Skylar Crosby has just found herself in an awful predicament due to her father's involvement with mobster Victor Messina. But with everything that happened previously will Brandon come to Skylar's rescue this time?

Brandon Sterling is running for the DNC candidacy to become mayor of Boston but his personal life is in a bit of a shambles. Brandon is in love with Skylar but is tired of her running when things get tough. Now he is getting nightmares and the stress is getting to him with everything that is happening.

As Skylar tries to prove to Brandon how much she loves him will the pressure of becoming mayor be too much for her with all the negative press she is getting?

When someone from their past is hell bent on revenge will they make it?

This is such a great conclusion!

There were still so many ups and downs in this book with what Skylar and Brandon were faced with but I loved how everything gradually came together.

For Skylar she had to deal with her past and figure out that she couldn't keep running from her problems. I think with what she had to go through at the beginning of this book it was a huge awakening for her and she really realized how much Brandon cared about her.

Brandon also had so much to deal with as we learn more about his own past and how both Skylar and his best friend Kieran had to work together to get Brandon to see that he truly needed help with his nightmares.

I loved the extent that Skylar was willing to go to for Brandon in order to be seen in the press in a better light. I hated that she had to go through all that stuff and the names she was called. I definitely had wished that Brandon had some press release about when he actually got separated in the first place so that Skylar didn't have to go through all that crap.

I loved the end and Brandon's decision but then definitely knew what was coming at the end with the revenge.

Such a great series and I look forward to more from this author.

The third and final book in Spitfire series is here and I can't believe it. How can the story be over? I'm truly truly sad - I will miss Brandon!

Spoilers from Book 1 & 2 might appear in this review!

Legally Ours picks up where Legally Mine ended. Skylar is kidnapped after having a huge fight with Brandon. I don't want to spoil anything, but let just say that it could all end up worse.

Brandon and Skylar have good times and, unfortunately, also bad times through out the course of their relationship. Brandon is still a candidate for the mayor and often shifts his priorities in order to accommodate Cory and the campaign. Skylar just finished her law school.

Brandon is...Brandon. Overbearing, dominating alpha male in the bloom! He has everything - love of his life by his side, successful company and yet, he is broken, but doesn't need to be fixed. But doesn't he? I really enjoyed how he was portrayed in this book, where he moved compared to book 1 and even two. But we have to face the fact that he is still just a guy and they tend to be childish sometimes and stubborn. You will all love Brandon nevertheless, despite his flaws!

Skylar wasn't all innocent in their problems and played a huge part of course. But what I really loved was that she also worked hard to make everything all right between them once again! She was smart, cheerful, loving and hopeful through out their ordeal. She loved Brandon enough to sacrifice some of her dreams even.

Guys, it's truly difficult to write a spoiler free review in this one, so I think I'll leave it be here.

Just know one thing - you'll love this book and the whole series when you decide to pick it up! There will be no disappointment as the book makes you curious and leaves you wanting more!

5 stars (sad ones as this means no more Brandon)!

One almighty conclusion to a series that has gripped me from the beginning

LEGALLY OURS, the third and final instalment in the Spitfire Trilog, is one almighty conclusion to a story that has kept me gripped since the very first chapter of LEGALLY YOURS. Skylar Crosby and Brandon Sterling's story has drained me both physically and emotionally, and has left me with one huge book hangover.

The storyline is brilliant, it's not one of those usual boy meets girl romances. This one has substance, grit, power, darkness and is believeable. Nicole's attention to detail is meticulous, not even the smallest of details are overlooked. This is an enthralling journey that will have you continually on the edge of your seat. You will laugh, cry, scream, rant, rave, become frustrated, but most of all, you will fall in love with Skylar and Brandon and their family (well Skylar's anyway) and friends (Jane and Eric - well you'll just have to read the books).

LEGALLY OURS is Skylar and Brandon trying to rebuild their steadily stumbling relationship. Their's is a love so strong and powerful, yet they must cross many bridges and jump many hurdles in order to find what works for them. Kidnappings, mayoral races, guilt, anxiety and the past, all test this couple in their pursuit of happiness. The ability to find their inner strength and chase the one thing that they both fully desire - love - is what makes this book so special.

An epic conclusion to a wonderful series about people who must learn to heal from the inside out, prior to being the person and with the person that they are truly destined to be and be with. Honesty was the best policy and it took time for them to both realise that. The Epilogue of this book was superb - knowing what happened to these amazing characters rounded everything off perfectly.

Highly recommended book and series.

Legally Ours is the third book and final novel to the amazing Spitfire Trilogy. Books should be read in order to understand the story.

The story begins where Legally Mine left off with Skylar kidnapped and held for ransom. After Brandon manages to rescue a physically broken Skylar, it's also evident that their relationship is broken as well because of Skylar withholding the truth. Can their relationship be rescued and healed or will this be the end for them?

Throughout the books Skylar is great female lead. She's strong and not afraid to set Brandon straight. Where so many female characters tend to bend to the will of the hero in the book. She's poised, confident, and although she wants love and romance she doesn't compromise who she is for it. Brandon is your sexy, wealthy lawyer who is also incredible smart. They both are such strong characters that it leads them to bump heads and fight. Despite this, their differences, and all the hurdles they've gone through they always find their way back to each other and their love for one another. Together they are just simply better and that fact spills out each book.

Legally Ours is just so, so good! From the great, strong characters to the fantastic writing by Nicole French, and especially because of the wonderful, epic love story at the center of it all. This series will take you for a great ride and you'll be sorry once it's over. Five glowing stars!

I cannot believe I went from skimming over pages to devouring every single word on my path. Legally Ours is by far my favorite from the entire series.

Legally Ours picks up exactly where book two left us hanging (again!). Skylar gets kidnapped by a very dangerous person that’s been haunting her family for a while now. Brandon saves Skylar from that danger but their relationship is still on the line. He’s still not able to forgive Skylar for hiding what she did from him and he doesn’t know if he ever will.

I really enjoyed reading the third book. It is not as drama filled as the two previous ones but I think it had the perfect amount after all the drama I had to go though to get to this book. It is also more romantic, definitely swoon worthy! And it had a bit of action towards the end. I say it has a little bit of everything, fun, romance, sadness, action, drama.

Reading the Spitfire trilogy was definitely like riding a roller coaster ride for me. I went from thinking the story had potential to being disappointed to it surpassing my expectations. All in all, these books kicked me in the butt but it was definitely worth it because Nicole’s writing is impeccable through and through and she is definitely someone you need to keep on your radar.

Five Thrilling Stars! This is the third book in the Spitfire Series and should be read in order to fully understand the story. We pick up where we left off in the second book Legally Mine when Skylar was kidnapped, beaten, and held for ransom. When Brandon eventually manages to rescue Skylar their relationship is damaged. Skylar did it to herself by not coming forward with the truth. Will Brandon ever be able to forgive Skyler? Ms. French did an amazing job with this book and the entire series! I was engrossed from the first pages of the book and could not put it down! The author wrote the book in a beautiful, well written, way that I felt every emotion the characters were feeling. I loved the chemistry between Brandon and Skylar! This is a true romance story having all the intense emotions, hot sexy times, and a happily ever after any female can only dream of! This is the first book that I have read by this author and I am looking forward to reading more of her books! I highly recommend book and the entire series!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. This book was read and reviewed by Annamaria for Alpha Book Club.

Legally Ours picks up where Legally Mine leaves off so you know if you've read book 2, that right out of the gate you're getting intense action. Throughout the series Brandon and Skylar have had an up and down, push and pull relationship. Both of them stubborn and strong-willed, both of them fighting their own demons but their love and passion is just as strong in book 3 as it is in book 4. Over the course of the trilogy, I've grown to love these two characters, rooting for them, scolding them when they just can't seem to get it together. These two have been through so much together, all the bad decisions, all of the stress of a political campaign, family complications, tortured pasts, but in the end, they always manage to find their way back to each other and come out stronger for it.
This was a journey that I was so engrossed in that the characters felt like I knew them. I laughed, cried, got frustrated, and absolutely got hot and bothered with all the sexytime hotness! Nicole French has a wonderful way of telling a story and developing characters. She doesn't even let the side characters down and makes sure that their stories evolve right along with the main characters.
You won't be disappointed with this series; I highly recommend

Nicole French just brings it with her Spitfire series. I was long awaiting for the day to come when I would be able to read Legally Ours. I fell for Brandon since book one. He had my heart and I wanted to protect his. Don't get me wrong, I love Skylar too. She is one fiery redhead that does not know when to let her guard down. She can definitely trust Brandon, but with all that happened in the last two books, I knew Brandon was just done with the drama and emotional roller coaster.

Legally Ours had me change teams. I was on team Skylar and wanted to punch Brandon in the gut for being so cold. I was as confused as Skylar emotionally when Brandon was hot one moment and cold the next. The drama of the story captures you. Legally Ours shows how love is not perfect. You have to work on it from both sides. I had a few characters (like Victor) I would cuss out like a sailor. My heart pounded so hard, I barely could think straight.

This book kept me stuck in one spot. I felt like I could not breathe or sleep easily until I knew how this book ends. I love Nicole's words and her characters. They are far from perfect, but they are perfect for me. Brandon will always have a special place in my heart. I loved this series! This is a MUST READ from beginning to the end!

Let me just start by saying that I hardly ever leave a review as I don't think that I am eloquent with the words to describe the books that I love.

This time, however, I had to make an exception.

This series started out as extremely intriguing and I must say that the angst that was brought out in all 3 books was mind-blowing. I was at the edge of my seat always wondering what was going to happen next. Even though Nicole had promised a happy ending, reading through I just wasn't sure. These books have been written so very well and with so much emotion that it makes one feel that you are in the book feeling all of the emotions of the characters.

I want a Bubbe of my own, lol! Brandon is amazing and probably the pinnacle for the man that most women look for in their significant others. At the same time, Skylar is equally if not stronger than even the main hero. All of the characters had their own amazing quirks and made you laugh out loud hilariously sometimes. The relationship between Eric and Jane kept me curious and anxious about it working out for them.

All in all, a superbly written book and can't wait to read your next one!

Hope I did justice to this review!

Skylar and Brandon return to complete their story. Skylar is gone and Brandon is frantic to find her before she past saving. Anger and revenge have put Skylar in a position she may not walk away from. Even if Brandon makes it in time to save her, will she be able to live with herself? Brandon has aspirations that may end everything for Skylar and him when the secrets come out. Wow! What a powerful ending to this series. I hated saying goodbye to Skylar and Brandon as they had become so real. Nicole French has the ability to make her characters jump off the page and never want to leave. Such a great story and I loved how Nicole gave her readers closure at the end. I have to hope this isn't the last we will see of Brandon and Skylar as I loved them so much. HIGHLY Recommend this series.

The final book in the series... I really enjoyed the first 2 and the last one is no different.

After the explosive cliffhanger from book 2, I was waiting anxiously for book 3 and it did not disappoint. In the last book, Brandon found out but the abortion that Skylar had hide from him and he was beyond distraught due to her dishonesty. She leaves the event and ends up getting kidnapped.

The question of this book - will Skylar and Brandon sort thru all their issues and come out victorious together? From hospital life-threatening stays to absentee family members and a political campaign - the duo has to find their groove and to recover from the lost, pain and betrayal that has plagued their relationship from the beginning.

It is great to see Skylar and Brandon grow and learn how to approach and keep their relationship. A fitting ending to this series and I will re-read it again soon.
