4.5 out of 5 stars 5,256 ratings

FINAL BOOK IN THE TRILOGY!

Safe in the ivory tower...

Gabriel Miller swears he'll keep me safe. Enemies lurk outside, waiting to strike. An army held back by these walls.

Except some animal instinct warns me the danger is much closer. It's already here. Is Gabriel my protector or my enemy? Is this house a castle or a cage?

There's nowhere for me to go, no one left for me to trust.

No escape from a past determined to capture its prize.

THE CASTLE is book three in the Endgame series from New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren about revenge and seduction in the game of love. This is the final novel in the story of Gabriel and Avery.

I LOVE Skye Warren's books - read everyone. The three books of Endgame series, The Pawn, The Knight, The Castle are absolutely superb - they are so good they are addictive!

Whilst in some trilogies the main characters change and weaken - this is not the case here. Gabriel does not lose his cold, harsh edge, Avery maintains her softness and inner strength. As the story progresses the characters become more complex making for a far better read. It was also a treat that some characters from 'The Stripped' series appear, particularly Candy and Ivan.

Whilst being an unconventional love story, the three books have a well thought out plot that flows like silk. Boy does that plot twist, turn and darken particularly in The Castle.

This is Skye Warren at her very best. She can write complex dark erotica like no other. The reader's total attention is held from the first page of The Pawn till the last page of The Castle.

The Pawn, The Knight, The Castle - the pieces are assembled beautifully - now we await The King (27th June).

Goodness me what a fantastic ending to this excellent trilogy . I was hooked from the first page to the last there were so many twist and turns it seemed everyone close to Avery was keeping secrets from her , all except Gabriel he was the only one that didn't lie to her . The last secret that was revealed near to the end of the book really was an OMG !!! moment , I for one did not see that coming but I'm so glad that Avery finally got the answers to her questions . With all that she gone through and discovered about her family the last bombshell nearly tipped her over the edge . The ending in my opinion was perfect looking forward to reading the next one ,which is called King , it's already been pre ordered . Although Avery & Gabriel's story has been told I hope they get a mention in it .

I have love each book in this series, the dark secrets, the twists and turns that keep you hooked throughout and awake until the early hours because there was never a convenient place to stop and take a break.

The writing was easy to follow, descriptive, intense and had some seriously scorching hot sex scenes... This is the first series I have read by this author but I will definitely be reading her others and following her going forward.

Skye warren has created a dark and raw character in the shape of Gabriel Miller, he's a force to be reckoned with, you can feel his power and strength oozing off each page in spades. I absolutely fell in love with Gabriel.

Avery transforms from being a very naive girl to a women who embraces her inner strength to fight off her demons that she hasn't realised she's suppressed. She is a formidable character in her own right and is the ying to Gabriel's yang.

The references to chess moves and pieces as the story unfolds was a brilliant addition to this cleverly woven story of hidden secrets. I still have so many questions that I didn't felt were addressed or perhaps I missed them?? It did feel like it was incomplete, but without posting spoilers I can't elaborate. I have read that there will be a further book depicting Damon Scott's story so perhaps some will be answered there.

I would definitely recommend this series if you like families with dark and twisted secrets that have been buried in the past. This is a must read !!

Wow! There were so many twists and turns in this final installment, that I could hardly put it down. I felt like an addict, needing to read, rather than merely wanting to read.
The development of Avery since the first book, makes her almost unrecognisable. From an innocent and naive girl, to a strong and formidable young woman, willing to face her demons and fight for what she wants.
Together, Avery and Gabriel are a force to be reckoned with. Fighting ghosts from the past and unravelling secrets.
This is the perfect end to a brilliant trilogy.

Book 3 and it was an explosive end to Avery and Gabriel's story. The whole series has kept me hooked. I've enjoyed every minute of it, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I really look forward to reading about Damon and Penny next. If you like a darker, twisted read, then this is a series for you.

The third in the End Game series.... this was a great final installment in what has been a dark and fascinating erotic trilogy.....well written with a plot that hurtles at a fast pace to the conclusion...

There were so many twists and turns at times I felt I was developing whiplash ....the characters were intriguing and their roles in the plot were often unpredictable ...just when I thought I knew who I was rooting for everything would change and I had to reevaluate my allegiances....

The antagonists relationship most definitely reflected the nature of the book with unspoken secrets and hidden truths which at times elicited feelings of frustration from me....if only they were more up front and honest...but then again the resulting story would have been considerably shorter.... and wow there were plenty of steamy moments to make up for their failure to articulate ....

In summary this was a suitably satisfying series finale; I was completely caught up in the outcome of the story and invested in the lives of the participants and when the last page was turned and all was revealed ......checkmate...this book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads...

I liked this book less than the two previous. There is too much darkness physical and emotional, too much riddles and mysteries. One of them would be Jonathan hiding in the house and speaking to Avery or her mother many years ago. How wouldn't anyone see him? I understand that the book is fictional story but this supernatural thing is most unbelievable. Otherwise Avery and Gabriel love story is most sweet and moving

Series normally have some boring parts and with patience and hope, one reads on until the story gets better but this series was mind blowing from the very beginning. It truly deserves the five star rating I'm giving it because I got to the end of the book, hoping for more.
Great story line, great characters and excellent writing throughout, enrapturing the reader from start to finish.

Utterly enthralled by this trilogy and this final installment I am. Skye Warren took this plot and shredded it piece by piece in The Castle. So many loose ends are tied while new information surfaces about our beloved Gabriel and Avery. Skye Warren's writing hooks you so easily forcing your mind to these characters even when you're not reading. Her story telling unleashes twists and turns in her dark, erotic plot you never see coming leaving you breathless, reeling for more.

    "I need to be destroyed."

The plot is like a tree. We've been given the branches and the leaves, the trunk is solid but in The Castle we see how tangled the roots really are for these characters. This story is definitely dark and totally twisted. It'll captivate you entirely. Both Gabriel and Avery are characters who share passion and secrets. Figuring each other out, playing games are mainstays between the two. While you never quite know which way is up the intrigue never stops to learn even more.

    "Castles don't move."

I love all the chess references and rich history of mythology Skye Warren weaves into her dialogue, prose, and plot. There's foreshadowing and clues throughout the trilogy that gives you just a little more with each reveal but never fully showing the full deck. I loved the twists and turns. It's truly a game with more players than just Gabriel and Avery.

"My wings want to beat against a cage."

For me, this story was an evolution of Avery James. A chance at something she wants but doesn't understand fully. It's growth and maturation. It's breaking down at your core foundation. Her story is heart wrenching, full of angst and passion. I love her. The strength she draws from their games, from herself, and from Gabriel make her formidable even when she's crumbling. She's fighting for herself constantly. Fighting to understand and fighting to be a partner.

"The queen has freedom the king does not. She decides her own fate."

Gabriel Miller. He's the master. The protector. The unflinching shield in the face of danger. The captor. And the passionate, intelligent man that graces these pages. There's so much about Gabriel that's tragic. All that tragedy wrapped up in a tightly sealed, enigmatic package. This man will leave entranced. His devotion, his steadfast obsession with Avery is hot and deviously romantic. I love him and want him for myself!

"No one can ever take it away."

Entrenched in gnarly, layered vines of betrayal, deceit, sickness, pleasure, passion, and pain this trilogy will captivate you. The Castle perfectly ended a series of books I fell in love with. It has an amazing epilogue too which I adore. For those readers who love dark, twisted romances don't miss the Endgame Trilogy. Skye Warren's brilliant story telling will leave you beyond satisfied with her shadowy tale. I'm so excited to have this story.
