About the author

USA Today Bestselling Author Ella Fox has learned a bunch of stuff along the way but the most important of all those things is that anything is possible when you try. In 2012 she took a big leap of faith and published her first book, Broken Hart. Since then she's written fifteen more full-length books and several novellas-- and every one is a reminder that you can live your dream as long as you work for it.
Ella's favorite things are music, movies, traveling, The Foo Fighters and, of course, reading. This isn't a surprise considering the fact that her mom is USA Today Bestselling Author Suzanne Halliday.

- Reviewed in Australia on 10 April 2017Verified PurchaseAnother fantastic read from Ella Fox! Beautifully written with characters that are easy to fall in love with (as well as ones you may want to harm!).
Can not wait for the next book.
- Reviewed in Australia on 5 April 2017Verified PurchaseI am late to the Ella Fox train, but I Don't was a great way to pop my Fox cherry.
I didn't know what to expect when I started reading, but Ava and Mateo's story, but I was pleasantly surprised, and read this book in one evening.
Mateo is seemingly all brusque and alpha and kind of a douche when we first meet him, but as the story progressed he really was kind of swoonworthy.
There is something from Ava's past that is stopping her from moving forward with her sexy Spaniard, and I am not going to lie, for a while there I thought I had come in halfway through the story. I did even double check that this was the first book in the series for a while there.
But this could just be me, and as the story continued it all made sense (I was probably just too impatient!)
There is a bit of intrigue playing out through the story, which is told in the past and present. I enjoyed seeing our lovelies in the past, as it gave great insight into the people they are today.
I laughed, I got frustrated, I smiled so hard as I read I Don't, and couldn't help but become Mateo's biggest cheerleader.
Now to see where Ms Fox takes us with the next books in this series.

- Reviewed in Australia on 1 October 2017Verified PurchaseI found this a bit slow to start with. While the attraction was there between Mateo and Aveline, there wasn't a lot of love. It wasn't until nearly half way that you really got a sense that the love was still there and they just had to find the missing pieces. Looking forward to the other brothers stories now.
- Reviewed in Australia on 2 December 2018Verified PurchaseIf you like sweet romances with a swoon worthy hero and a gorgeous heroine then this one's for you. Standalone in series.
- Reviewed in Australia on 28 August 2017So not what I expected. Ava and Mateo almost feel star-crossed in their love but Ava has left Mateo and wants space. She is angry with him and feels betrayed. I love how Ella Fox took us back in time and allowed us to experience this first love and passion that Ava and Mateo felt. We also learn about how unbelievably nasty Ava’s mother truly is, she is the definition of gold digger. Ava is blessed with an amazing father that loves her to the ends of the earth and back. As Ava and Mateo prepare to get married, the unthinkable happens and Ava’s father dies which sends her into a tailspin. But then other forces intervene resulting in an accident where Ava loses part of her memory. What she remembers is a betrayal by Mateo. Mateo struggles to see Ava suffer so he gives her the space she needs until he can’t any longer. The struggle is real as Ava tries to reconcile what she knows of Mateo with a warped memory that she really doesn’t want to remember. All she knows is that it will cause her intense pain. Can Mateo help her break through the walls she’s built? Will Ava allow herself to embrace love no matter how painful? Truly an incredible journey told in past and present giving all the depth of emotion that these two lovers feel.
- Reviewed in Australia on 14 April 2017I love this author's work, and this first book in a new series didn't disappoint.
This book starts off in the present, and as it progresses, it switches between the past and the present. I enjoyed this as it set the background for Ava and Mateo's story.
Great read with heat, love, sadness, anger, and a HEA. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars good
Verified PurchaseVery good read...loved the writing and the storyline...start of a new series so looking forward to reading the upcoming books in the series...initially I was a bit hesitant to read further because Mateo came on too strong (for me personally) but then i realised he is just a alpha hero who was very concerned and worried, and the story was unfolded in the initial chapters in first person narrative by Ava only...but there are few chapters narrated by Mateo too...overall this is a good contemporary HEA read...my first read from author, and I will definitely read other books too....via KU

5.0 out of 5 stars If you don't...I will! More Mateo Please!
Verified PurchaseNo cliffhanger
Standalone though the first book in a larger family series
Told from both POVs
No major editing issues
I have loved every book I read by this author and this book is no exception. Similar to her Hart series this one revolves around a wealthy family, this one filled with a bunch of hot men. The first book is about the oldest son Mateo. The author did a great job of developing the characters and telling a story that jumps from past to present quite a few times. She also gives little tastes of some of the other brothers to set up future books. This book was a great mix of drama, love and super steamy intimate moments.
Mateo is the oldest Cruz son. Avelina is the daughter of his fathers best friend. Though they have known each other most of their lives, they didn't develop feelings for each other until Avelina was about to graduate high school. Mateo is older, so he wants to wait until she is of age to pursue anything, but once she turns 18, all bets are off.
Mix in a crazy mother, a brothers psycho ex girlfriend and a ton of money and things get real pretty quickly. An accident tears Mateo and Avelina apart. She believes he wronged her but her memory of the accident is keeping her from remembering what really happened. The question is, when she remembers, will she be able to live with the truth?
Great book, couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next one. Based on the little snippet of time Alejandro was in the book I am guessing it will be hysterical. (Think finding jubs of lube in a girls apartment)

4.0 out of 5 stars Adult Romance, standalone

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely read
Verified PurchaseI'm a massive fan of Ella Fox's books anyway so was more than thrilled when a new series came out. This is the first book of 5 (currently books 1-3 are available) and will all feature a different Cruz brother. As with any of Ella's family series, we see plenty of all the other characters too so I'm already impatient for each following book, and I'm sure I'll see plenty of this books characters in the future too (one of the many reasons I enjoy her series).
This first book features Mateo and Ava. It does go from past to present, but not in a way that you get lost, but more to give a full picture of their lives together- it certainly doesn't deter from the storyline, only adds more depth to it. And these two have such a beautiful love story that you get pulled in right from the first page.
Happily moving to book 2 now. Would recommend.
