~ ~ ~
If I met Alexandra DeLuca for the first time today, I would only need one word to describe her: MINE.

She's everything she was when we said goodbye. Beautiful, stubborn, sweet...and off-limits.

After two years leading separate lives, our worlds have collided. Now that she's back home working and taking classes beside me, she's bound to make me lose my mind.

She's all I've ever wanted, all I've ever dreamed of, and the one thing I can never have.

Not because she's my best friend's sister.
Not because all four DeLuca brothers would come at me with fists swinging if I hurt her.
Not even because she's way better than I will ever deserve.

I keep my distance because we didn't meet for the first time today. We met five years ago when I was a different person. When my demons ruled me. Even though I've changed--even though I've gotten my life together and become a better man—I can't change the past. And the secrets that haunt me would destroy her.

But I'm not the only one with secrets, and when the truth comes out, I don't know where to turn. What do you do when your world washes away beneath your feet and you feel like you're drowning? What do you do when the woman you promised yourself you'd never touch is the only thing that can keep you from going under?

This is such an addictive series, yes Going Under can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading book 1 & 2... I couldn't imagine missing out, you need to be familiar with all the characters for the full impact.
I've said this before, Lexi Ryan doesn't do simple her stories have lots of layers and are very intense, your imagination runs wild.
As the story opens up its obvious that there is some sort of history with Alex and Sebastian add into the mix a dreadful tragedy that's taken place resulting in Alex's twin Martina loosing her life you can only wonder what impact that has had and still having on those involved coupled with secrets and lies that are yet to be revealed but nobody really knows for sure until the very end.
Sebastian is carry all the guilt... guilt about Martina... guilt about Alex and just about everything else, then we start to find out more about Martina through her diaries and you had to wonder why was she so troubled and intent on going down that destructive path and all the while you think about Alex and Sebastian.
Throughout this storyline there are so many unanswered questions that you are desperate to get answers to but they keep stacking up along the way and there is more trouble and worry for Sebastian too, courtesy of his father.
Finding out through Martina's diaries about her involvement with Sebastian is one thing but when she moves on to Mr Bedroom Eyes (BDM) that is when you start the finger pointing. At first I wondered if it was the man who owned the big house that Alex was looking after, after all it was someone with money and married then I had this awful feeling that it could be Sebastian's father... one because someone made a comment about him still being handsome and then there were the drug involvement and the fact he was being a little evasive still, so we knew something wasn't right... he to me seemed the obvious!
By this time you feel so concerned for Sebastian, he's trying to do the right thing... damed if he does damed if he doesn't and if that's not enough you have the situation going on between Olivia and Keegan and Bailey and Mason, I have to say I found myself thinking back to both Arrow and Christopher's stories more than once looking for answers.
Logan featured from quite early on and continued to throughout and apart for him chasing after Alex which in turn cased more drama between Alex and Sebastian he seemed like a nice guy but I was always team Sebastian.
By this time I almost believed that (MBD) could be Sebastian's father... almost!
One things for sure.. I didn't see this coming there were no alarm bells ringing for me when it came to Logan other than he was a bit of a threat to Sebastian as they were both fighting for Alex.
There's a twist at the end I wasn't prepared for it defiantly comes as a shock honestly it's so good thanks to Lexi Ryan and her brilliant story telling skills she never disappoints and keeps delivering us what we love to read.!
I especially loved the message about Kintsukuroi, very well thought out and incredibly important to the issues concening Alex and even Sebastian to some extent.
I can't wait to read Falling Hard (Keegan's Story)
    Thank you Lexi Ryan.

Although this is book 3 in the Blackhawk Boys series, this can be read as a stand alone. (But I highly recommend the other books in the series too).

Oh my! I was only a short way into this book and I was feeling warm and fuzzy inside from the beautiful writing, and smiling knowing I was reading another fabulous story by Lexi Ryan. The characters are just so well written - Sebastian beating himself up over his past, Alex, insecure about her looks - she carries scars both physically and mentally. Both are shaped by events from their past. I smiled and cried - it's always so easy to connect with Lexi Ryan's characters. And there's a beautiful message in this story about Kintsukuroi.

I liked this story a lot when I started reading and I fell in love with Sebastian not despite his flaws and past but because. And even though he was walking on the wrong path once, he found his way back on the right road.
The thing with this book was that it couldn't always hold my attention and I had to sit myself down to read it especially around the middle part was it hard for me to not skip a few chapters though all in all the book was still well written and had a steady pace. I liked both perspectives and also that we got to read some journal entries. They were so important for the story and I think without them it wouldn't have worked.

    The Story:
Sebastian has been in love with Alex for years though he could never be with her because of his past. He is bad for her and she deserves someone better. Though when Alex starts working in his father's shop, enrolls at the same college and hangs out with his friends it's harder than ever for Sebastian to keep his hands to himself. When his past catches up with Sebastian, he and Alex have to decide how to deal with it. Can they overcome what's happened?

    Thoughts:
It's not that I didn't like the story but there was a lot revealed throughout the book that was heavy stuff and I anticipated a fun and light romance. I really enjoyed the second book in this series but this one was a tad bit much for my liking. Don’t get me wrong, it was well written and there was a lot happening and even though I was captured by the story at first I struggled a few times - especially in the middle - because the romance part constantly moved one step forward and three steps back. It was annoying after a while even though I understood the reasons of the characters' struggles and problems to give in to their love. I can't tell you if I liked the characters because I loved the beginning of the book and was hooked but as the story progresses the characters got more and more complex and a lot of their past was revealed that made me unsure if I liked them. I liked Sebastian more than I liked Alex that’s for sure.

Even though this wasn't the best book in this series I will definitely read the next one because I can't wait to know how Keegan's story will turn out.

If there's one thing I'm certain of in life, it's this ---> Lexi Ryan knows how to write a hot guy and Sebastian Crowe did not disappoint!

Going Under was gritty, full of heartbreak and overflowing with sexual tension, all at the same time.

Sebastian and Alexandra's story was not an easy one to read. Their shared history was a painful one, full of secrets and regrets. Lexi Ryan did an amazing job of guiding them through everything, just like I knew she would when I sat down to read Going Under and learned what their story was about.

If you've never read one of Lexi Ryan's stories, you're missing out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Going Under is my favorite book in the series
Reviewed in the United States on 6 December 2016
The Blackhawk Boys are back! Going Under by Lexi Ryan is the third release in this dynamic new adult series. This series is a combination of new adult romance loaded with emotional angst and sports romance featuring the college gridiron heroes. The dynamic cast of characters is diverse in personalities and life circumstances. The one thing they have in common is their deep abiding friendships with one another.

Going Under is my favorite book in the series. This book was a complex and very emotional story from beginning to end. My heart broke for both of these characters.

Sebastian Crowe has loved Alexandra Deluca for years. She is the one girl that is off limits because she is his best friend's sister. Not only is she off limits, she's too good for him. His past history is not a good one. He could of easily ended up on the wrong side of the law. Instead he has spent the past few years changing his ways after a tragedy happened. That night forever changed both him and Alexandra.

Alexandra is back in town after being away for years. She has been living in her dead twin sister's shadow. She's filled with guilt and remorse. She has returned home to start her own life and let go of the past. It's time to start learning to love herself. One of the things she has to let go of is her attraction to Sebastian Crowe.

Alexandra is working in Sebastian's family garage as well as going to the same school. They are thrown together at work and school. Both are trying to resist their attraction to one another for very different reasons.

As the truths come out and the layers are peeled away, these two people deserve happiness together. Sebastian will have to overcome his self loathing and embrace the goodness in his soul. Alexandra will have to learn to accept and love herself before she can truly love Sebastian.

I loved the emotional growth in both the characters. They both had to get past their painful pasts and learn how to move on. They both had to accept their pain as well as their personal victories.

Lexi Ryan delivered a truly emotional story.

Une lecture agréable comme toujours avec Lexi Ryan. J'aime bien cette série qui reprend tour à tour chacun des personnages. Il y a pas mal de suspense dans ce tome ci. J'ai passé un bon moment de lecture

5.0 out of 5 stars This series just keeps surprising me...
Reviewed in the United States on 6 December 2016
Going Under is the third book in the Blackhawk Boys series and like with the others it can be read as a stand alone. The books in this series just keep getting better and better as we learn about more of the characters and their many secrets and lies. Sebastian has been very intriguing from the start, but like all the other characters in this series you just knew he was hiding something big.
Alexandra DeLuca left town two years ago, but she is back to attend college at BHU. The night she left town Alex had a brief yet intense moment with Sebastian that left her more confused than ever. Now that she is back she wants to address all the awkwardness that lingers between the two of them once and for all, but that proves to be easier said than done. One minute he's hot the next he's an iceberg and Alex has decided moving on is the only answer to Sebastian's mood swings.
Sebastian Crowe has been in love with his best friend's sister for years, but he has it in his head that he doesn't deserve someone as good as Alexandra. When she unexpectedly arrives back in town he has to come to the realization that the two years she was gone only made his feelings for her stronger. Sebastian is fighting every minute of every day to NOT give into his feelings for her, but crazy circumstances keep putting them together. A man can be strong for only so long...
This is my new favorite of the series for so many reasons with character development and angst just being a few. Steamy romance that lights the pages on fire made this one a page turner for sure. Can't wait for the next in the series :)
