47 Things Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 1,571 ratings

"What's your name, sweetheart?"....

That was the first thing. I wasn't his sweetheart, and he should have already known my name. But, that was the moment I became caught in Tyler Lohan's sight. He was wonderful and complicated, and I'd spent my life trying to hate him for being the golden boy who had everything so easy. However, as with all things, Tyler wasn’t the person he appeared to be from the outside, and once I saw him – the real him – I fell, and I don’t think I ever got back up.

There would be a total of forty-seven things that sucked me into Tyler's life then forced me away. Forty-seven things that ruined me forever.

Forty-seven was never going to be enough.

There was no number great enough...

47 Things. A non-traditional standalone romance that follows a couple as they come to terms with falling love in a world they can't control, and the certainty of the inevitable.

This is a book that touched my heart and soul for purely personal reasons that I won't say because that would give parts of the story away, but as the author says at the beginning prepare yourselves you will need tissues lots and lots of tissues. This is the story of Sarah amdTyler, two people from the same town who never spoke until they bump into each other in college, two people who seem so very different with little in common. However this is the start of a epic love that will make you laugh and cry, scream and shout, rejoice and despair and I loved every second that spent with these two young lovers. Tyler, what can I say about Tyler, he's deep and intense, sweet and loving, funny and adventurous, reading his thoughts at the end I fell in love with him all over again. Sarah may not seem it at the start but as you read you will realise that she is so damn strong, even when he try's to pull away she fights for him every step of the way. I can't recommend this book highly enough, if I could I would give it 10 stars.

An incredibly emotional love story. Unconventional but still beautiful. I was an emotional wreck by the end but the ending was just right. Perfectly written & has given me a wake up call to appreciate life.
Thank you Lilliana for writing this beautiful story.

The synopsis had me intrigued and I found from the first few pages I was desperate to know what it was with Tyler that had him backing off from Sarah. I loved these two characters; loved the way they met, loved them, loved them, loved them. They worked so well together and Tyler was beautifully written. The ending was both heart-wrenching and uplifting, too.

What knocked a star off this for me were the editing issues. There were too many mixes of tenses and typos which just stilted the otherwise beautiful writing. Also, I wanted more detail about Tyler's condition. I wanted to understand just a bit more about why he made the decision he did at the end of the book. Other than that, this was definitely a tearjerker to sit and read in one sitting.

This is a very emotional new adult romance story. You have been warned you may need tissues. I loved the story and even the heart breaking moments through the story just added more depth. I usually do not go for very deep romance books that drag you through the emotional ringer i cannot read them all the time, but this one just sneaked up on me when reading it and dragged me deep into the story i could not put it down. I loved the characters and the way they connected and got pushed apart as well. I cannot put into words really how good this book is, but the 5 stars should be enough to explain that it is a great read :)

From the beginning I was completely hooked, what an unbelievably touching story, so emotional. I could tell from the moment they met that it was obvious something was wrong with him, and he was pulling away so she didn't see him suffer, but a true love story is all about the love and the pain, staying together through the hard times as well as the good. I really felt their emotions, this is something many people go through everyday and this story was told in such a lovely way. From start to finish I loved every page, even the ones that made me want to cry.

This was such a shame of a book - the premise is good, and parts of it were well written. However, much of it was very...teenage angst, and all of it needed some basic proof reading.

What a lovely and heart breaking story. I really enjoyed the good and bad and I did have a few tears. Really thought Sarah was just amazing such an inspiration and the writer really bought this out in the story. Tyler was just brilliant, such a happy go lucky guy and loved how he pushed Sarah's buttons. Don't really want to write to much as I think I would just ruin the story, so I'll say this. As a romantic at heart with turbulence along the way I would really highly recommend this and you will need tissues that's a given. Am now downloading the next part of the journey.

I read a review that said you would need the tissues. I didn't take that advise, and I'm sorry now. As I sit here at just past midnight Trying to write a worthy review I have snot and big fat ugly tears all over my face and struggling to breath.

What a book, Tyler, oh god I'm crying again. I just loved him. And Sarah what a girl the story was amazingly written and the love these to had for each other was glaring from the pages. No review will do this book justice as it is that good. I can honestly say this will stay with me for a long time. But please take note get the tissues.

5.0 out of 5 stars love story. I love how it addresses a life ...
Reviewed in Canada on 26 September 2017
This was an incredible book to read. Seemed to start a little slow for me, but quickly became a page turning, tissue grabbing, couldn't read fast enough, love story. I love how it addresses a life altering issue/choice and keeps my interest through to the last page. Out of 700 plus books, this is the only one I have chosen to review, it's that good!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful love story not to be missed
Reviewed in Australia on 16 October 2019
I bought and read this book over four years ago and have reread on a few occasions as it is just one of those books that lingers. I read a lot of books but never feel compelled to write reviews but was scrolling through this authors' books and read another review that gave it a low rating because they thought it should be classed as drama. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but if you enjoy a well written romance that has a sad but poignant narrative then don't miss this. It still resonates with me, although I cried buckets and sill tear up when I think of this story, and I would definitely classify as romance. Well done to the author and don't miss this wonderful read.

5.0 out of 5 stars heartbreakingly beautiful, life affriming, breathtaking
Reviewed in the United States on 2 August 2015
I was lucky enough to beta read 47 Things for Lilliana Anderson, usually beta reading for me is very similar to writing a review in some ways, I give my thoughts and feedback on the story, the characters, the storyline, usually there's a good mix of things that worked and things that didn't, but 47 Things...wow... I was left speechless, because there was nothing I didn't love, the story of Sarah Kennedy and Tyler Lohan, two people who have known each other their entire lives and yet never really known each other at all, this is so much more than a frienemies story or a friends to lovers romance, this is a tale about two people who's connection transcends time, transcends space, 47 Things captured me heart and soul and left me reeling, I ran a gamut of emotions reading this, it was impossible to read this and not be moved by it, not be moved by Tyler and Sarah, impossible not to connect with them as individuals and as a couple, I defy any reader to experience this, this soulful, breathtakingly beautiful story and not to feel every single word.

There is a beautiful fragility to both Tyler and Sarah, for me 47 Things truly felt like I was living this journey with them, I forgot I was reading, as the story played through my mind like a movie roll, lighting me up from the inside and I experienced every emotion, from the joyous highs to the crushing lows, and every moment in between.

I want to go to great depths about every nuanced moment of this story, I want to let you in on every little secret and hold your hand through every second that had my heart swooning and breaking and healing, I want to tell you so much about Sarah and Tyler and yet I don't want to tell you anything at all, because going into this story blind only adds to it's appeal, to it's beauty, so instead of ruining that experience for you I'm going to tell you this, 47 Things was both one of the most heartbreaking and life affirming stories I've ever read, there's a quiet strength in Sarah that stole my breath, and fierce temerity in Tyler that inspired me, this book made me want to crawl into my husbands arms and just be held by him, I wanted to shout from the rooftops about this book and everything it made me feel, I wanted to talk to friends and reminisce on good times and memories of days gone by, I wanted hold on to the feelings this book evoked in my heart for just a few moments longer, over a week later, and I still can't get Sarah and Tyler out of my mind, I can't eradicate the feelings of longing for these characters still etched on my heart, I don't want to say goodbye to any part of 47 Things and I doubt I'll ever truly want to, this is a story I'll gladly wear like a badge of honour, as a testament to the scars left on my bruised and battered heart, as a testament to the talent and ability of Lilliana Anderson.
