Not many can say they were burned by fate. I'm the exception.
Scalded figuratively, emotionally, and physically... I have the scars running down my arm, ribs, and side to prove it.
The doctors have done what they can to heal me by smoothing the abraded skin using other parts of my body. But they can only do so much. Sometimes, what can't be seen can't be healed.
The fire that night took more than a pound of flesh. It obliterated my talent, beauty, and most importantly, seared the connection I had with the man I loved. Sure, it was me who pushed him away, but I had my reasons. I did what any woman would do in my situation. I gave up everything so that one day he'd find happiness and peace.
Now I've healed a bit on the outside, and on the inside, but I still crave the one I let go. To this day he looks at me with fire in his eyes, a heat so bright in his being he glows with it. I fear the light, the flames that could consume me whole. The problem now is, he's not mine anymore. I just may have waited too long to fight for him, for us, for a future together.
There's only one thing I can do. Let fate decide.

Geez I just keep picking up crap books.

Hero not celibate during the 3 year separation, he slept with a woman while trying to win back the heroine 2 years ago resulting in that woman getting pregnant and yes the baby is 99.9% His
Heroine remained a nun.

Do I consider this hero a cheating bastard? Yes because he's in love with her and he did it while trying to win her over.

What a catch

Fate by Audrey Carlan ~ 4.5 Stars

Wohooo!!! Just finished Fate, the last of the Trinity series and I have to say this is my favorite of all five (all can be read as standalones). Audrey Carlan really did the final book justice. An emotional, heartfelt second chance romance – believe in fate and all your dreams will come true.

This last novel is about Kat and Carson. Three years prior, Kat was injured in a fire. She was scared physically but the emotional damage was far deeper. It’s what destroyed her love for life, families, friendships, and Carson - the only man she ever loved. Kat struggles to live a normal life but one year after the fire she said her final goodbye to Carson and set him free. Carson was heartbroken – he moved on with his life the best he could, bedding his way to women but his heart never settled with anyone. The moment Kat and Carson came face to face for the first time since the breakup, all the familiar flames and emotions came rushing back. The hunger and love Carson had for Kat never ceased after all those years. Kat also realized her feelings for Carson were as strong as ever but is it too late?

One intimate dinner and several drinks later, Carson ends up in Kat’s apartment. They spend one sizzling night together making up for lost time. The next morning, everything went to hell. Carson’s recklessness came back to bite him in the butt and he now has a much bigger problem to deal with in a form of “fake tits insane baby mama.” Can he win back the love of his life? Will Kat able to accept Carson’s mistake or will she once again give Carson up?

In Fate, a love story between Kat and Carson is a central plot but there is also a surprise twist, drama, and suspense. Just when Carson thought he won Kat back, Carson found out some news that changed his life forever. Carson always felt like he was taking one step forward and two steps back with Kat. It has taken a long time for Kat to come to terms with her accident and finally embrace the new Kat. The last thing Carson wants is to hurt Kat again. I have to say, I was expecting Kat to respond way different to the news, but I am admiring the way she dealt with Carson – she was very sweet, understanding and supportive of her man. I like Kat and Carson’s relationship development. They are passionate for sure but they have grown leaps and bounds into a more mature, trusting partnership - that’s amazing to witness.

I was excited to see a bit more of the other soul sisters and their husbands. I especially love Chase – what a swoony hero. This book promised a little bit of everything – humor, love, angst, drama, and action. The epilogue was bittersweet – everything is as it should be. A perfect ending to a fabulous series.

Do you love second chance romance? Do you love novels with flawed characters that have to go on their paths of self discovery to learn how to love themselves? Do you love Audrey Carlan? Then one click Fate now!

There aren’t words for how epic this book is, I couldn’t put it down! Kat thinks she’s broken. She’s at a point where she’s surviving, a day at a time, but she’s not really living. She’s existing. The trauma to her body and mind from the fire that nearly killed her weighs on her daily. I’m in awe of how Audrey Carlan conveys PTSD and depression in this book. She ticks off so many warning signs for these illnesses but in a subtle, eloquently written way with that personal touch that’s all Audrey. And it broke my heart completely. Seeing how much pain Kat has already lived through, and how much pain she still carries, made me wish I could take that pain away. That I could carry that burden for her because she’s one of those characters that you just love and want to care for. I adore the sibling relationship she has with Chase, I can’t describe how much it made my heart sing for them to have that closeness and support system.

Then we have Carson. Three years ago he lost the best thing that ever happened to him. His soulmate may not have died in that fire but that doesn’t mean he didn’t lose her to it. My heart aches for all that Carson has lost in his life just as much as it aches for how Kat sees herself and her scars. I loved how Audrey portrays Carson, it seems like every rich, successful businessman in romance novels is a total man hoe, (not judging and honestly have no issue with that, but) it is refreshing to meet a character that isn’t like that. Carson hasn’t been living like a monk, but he hasn’t been sleeping with anything that moves either. I think that shows the love he has for Kat and the grief he’s trapped in since she pushed him away.

Then the way he is with his daughter Cora, made my heart so happy, as was the way Kat was with Cora. This sweet little family. Unfortunately there’s the crazy, deluded b**** (a.k.a. Cora’s mother) that just keeps being a drama llama and messing up the happy ending I crave for Carson and Kathleen and daaamn there are not words for how much I wanted to sucker punch Misty.

While there is a slight Romantic Suspense aspect to this novel, mostly towards the end, it’s more a second chance romance with a twist. And there aren’t words for how much I recommend this book! While you could read this as a standalone, I will warn you there will be slight spoilers and it could confuse you slightly so it may be worth buying the whole series. Trust me you won’t regret following Kat and her soul sisters on another spellbinding journey.

Fate is so much more than an entertaining novel. It is a wild ride full of so many things like sorrow, laughter, love, lust, heart-in-the-throat shock, fear, joy, rage, gratitude, wild grins, wicked HOTness, and unbelievable beauty. I have never had a story reach so far into my heart and soul that I’m forever changed.

In my opinion, this is Ms. Carlan’s best work to date! This was the conclusion that Trinity fans needed and the wild ride that many fans and readers enjoy!

This is a story of a woman burned by terror, life, fate, and herself, and the effect it all had on her family and the man she loves. Often, we hear about how the decisions we make affect those around us. Kat and Carson’s story is a perfect example. There’s so much to this story and I don’t want to spoil it, so here is what I felt and learned:

We can try our best to control our lives and what happens in it, but Fate will always have its way. When it comes to love, denying what your heart wants won’t just hurt you. It hurts the person you love and everyone else that loves you, too. Sometimes, we hold our fears and sorrows deep inside and think that no one can see it. The problem is, that’s when those that love us get hurt because we’re not relying on that bond and trusting them to be the people that we love. If you have already read Fate, you know exactly what I mean in this instance.

One more thing that I learned from Fate is that we need to love ourselves and see ourselves through others’ eyes and hearts. That’s when we see the truth.

Thank you Audrey for such an epic experience!

When Audrey Carlan said she poured her heart and soul into the final novel in the Trinity Series she did not lie. This is Audrey's best work to date. I have read all of her books but this one is my all time favorite. I never thought my favorite could be topped but it has been now. This book concludes all of these couples and families story. Although I am very sad it is over this was the perfect ending to every character in this series. Audrey's descriptive breathtaking words captured me as always and allowed me to feel all the feels that I love so much when reading a novel. 5 star rating for Mrs. Carlan on Fate! #iloveac#iloveac Hands down best book of 2017!!

Fate is by far the best work that Audrey Carlan has written.- Lana- White Hot Reads

This book is about accepting yourself no matter what and to always think you are worthy no matter what.

Kathleen(Kat) and Carson are perfect for each other but an unexpected tragedy breaks Kat's spirit and she pushes Carson away. It's a long journey for Kat to realize that she can be loved and wanted by a man who doesn't see her flaws but wants them and accepts them.

As this book ends the Trinity series, I was so excited how it turned out. True Love does exist!!!.

Was mir in diesem Teil wirklich gut gefiel,

Every book in this series has captured my heart, and taken me on an emotional roller coaster ride. Watching Kat push away the one person she loves more than anything, only to have him self-destruct is a painfully, beautiful journey...one that only the lovely Audrey Carlan can take you on. I loved this story, and couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it, whether you've read any of the Trinity series or not!

Almost three years after the start of the Trinity series, Audrey Carlan brings it to a close with Kathleens' story, Fate. The series in itself is a about a group of women who call themselves and each other BESOS (look it up in the book) and it couldn't have ended in a more entertaining wrap up. Kathleen 's life was completely disrupted by the entrance of the Davis men, Chase and Carson. While Chase belongs to Gigi, Carson could only hope to belong to Kathleen. She's pushed him out of her life, and thus the heart of this tale is all around Kat and Carson making amends.

True to Audrey's style, she devises a plot that will challenge Kathleen and Carsons path toward happiness. When the story opens we are dropped into present time where Kathleen and Carson have been apart since shortly after the accident that scared her body. There's the possibility of a reconciliation but the timing couldn't be worse. Just as Kathleen begins to let Carson in he faces a repercussion for a poor decision he made a few years ago and the story takes flight.

Carson. Carson. Carson. I'm not sure what to make of him. He makes some utterly ridiculous choices that creates a TON of angst and backlash. The situation is a train wreck in the making and although his intentions are noble, he's just too gullible. There are so many other steps he could have taken and he risks' not just his own happiness, but Kathleens' as well. She's already emotionally and physically vulnerable and my heart ached for her. Couple that with his poor communication skills, I found myself wanting to see Chase kick Carsons' behind. I know, sounds like I'm a bashing on Carson and I don't mean to. He has his good points, he clearly loves Kathleen and cherishes family, I just question his instincts. But it makes for great drama.

The story is fast paced and told in both the present and in reflections on the past, and there's a ton of action to accompany the emotional upheaval. There's also some bright and shiny happy moments. My absolute favorite character is Claire Davis - that little munchkin slayed me. The few lines she's utters to Auntie Kitty brings levity to the story and a few teary eyed moments as well. All in all it's a great wrap up of the series. It's nice to see the BESOS; Gillian, Becca, Ria, and Kathleen, all settled. Chase remains a superman and one of my favorite Billionaire Alpha's and Trinity a series that I will never forget and will always recommend.
4 Stars and recommendation.

Emotional...that's the main word I would use to describe this book. It's an emotional roller coaster that will, at once, break your heart and light you up. It will bleed you and stitch you up with love.

Full of surprises. Full of family. Full of healing. Full of so much love. From rage and rocks in your throat sorrow to peace and contentment. It's all in here. Fabulously written book about acceptance, healing, determination, and patience. Throw in there a bit of fear and anxiety and hold your breath moments.

But, one resounding emotion through the whole story? LOVE! Love for self and love for others...it's the love for self that must be relearned...and it is NOT an easy road to travel. But, Kat, she has love is spades! So much support all around her...all she needs to do is accept it!

You will hate this author and you will love this author. I believe this was my favorite book of the series. Faith and trust, that's what you'll need to get through this book, lol! Trust the journey!

Full review coming, but just know this book is EVERYTHING! Four reads of it later and I'll finally be ready to dive into a review!!
**UPDATED WITH REVIEW**

“FIVE SWEETCHEEKS IS ALL I NEED EVER-LOVING STARS”

If you’ve followed the Trinity Trilogy by Audrey Carlan, you’ve certainly been craving the story of our Soul Sister Kathleen, and Fate delivers it! A true second chance romance, and you can FEEL all the heart & soul Audrey poured into it. When the novel opens, Kat & Carson’s relationship is non-existent. The fire that burned her caused her extreme emotional damage, physical scars, and unparalleled heartache, which led her to push Carson away once and for all. One morning over breakfast, that all changes, and they magnetism that exists between them zaps back to life.

They both “attempt” to live their lives, Kat getting back into the work she so desperately loves, and Carson, trying to fill the void shes caused in his life. During their time apart, events happen, and life gets turned upside down. Can they manage to get through these events together? Is love enough? Will threats and outside forces keep them apart? The novel is a true page turner, as you try to figure out if it is fate, or if it really just is too late…

I'm not even sure where to begin! The Trinity Trilogy is my all time favorite series written by Audrey. After reading Fate it has made me love it even more. The love and understanding between friends, the way a man shows a women he loves her, ughh it really sets the bar high for a real life relarionshipng. Carson and Kat's stories is one of a kind and Audrey defiantly poured her everything into this book. This is a must read and should be added to the top of your list!!

Es ist vorbei! Endlich? Vielleicht.

Even from the very moment a reader takes in the title of this newest Audrey Carlan release, their expectations are set up for a love story that defies boundaries--and this reading experience brings that and SO much more. Though the back story for this couple has been provided in other books of the series (and I heartily recommend taking in those books, as well!), one can totally read this story, of Carson Davis and Kathleen Bennett, and enjoy it as a stand-alone book.

AND WHAT A BOOK.

The themes of the story--learning to accept that the past is the past, and is to be celebrated for the strength it brings you instead of the hardships--is soul-deep and sincerely expressed by Ms. Carlan, especially when she throws some heavy-hitting plot twists at this pair of fated lovers. They once had the fairy tale, but are struggling to find their passion and trust again even after her horrific scarring and a fumble from his past that has haunting ramifications. It is in these conflicts, that literally wrench a reader's heart apart, where Carlan always excels--and she pulls no punches on the ka-pow factor of the plot points in this story. That, paired with characters who will make you cheer, sigh, and swoon in equal measure, is the stuff that made this book a true page-turner for me.

I truly couldn't put this story down. It moved me, captivated me, and most of all, reaffirmed my belief in the abundant power of true and lasting love between a pair of fated souls. Absolutely stunning.

This is the way to end a series!! You can tell Audrey pours all the love and emotion into Fate. I found myself constantly wanting to yell, cry, laugh and love throughout all the pages.

In this 5th book, the story of Kat and Carson continues; what their lives have been the last few years and what the future holds for them. I'm in awe of Kathleen's strength throughout the book, as you read you can relate to her feelings and what she is going through after the fire. At the same time, you want her to break down the walls she has built. For Carson, the heart wants what it wants, and he knows what he wants, Kat. He just needs to figure out how to make that happen with the new journey his life is about to take.

As with all the other Trinity books, the bond of the Soul Sisters and the pillar that is Chase Davis will play into this story. A story you won't want to put down, until the last page.

Wow Audrey Carlan really knows how to write a book with some great twists and turns!

I've read a few of the books in this series and it just seems like each book keeps getting better and better. But you can't deny that you fall in love more with each character as you read each story.

I absolutely love a really good second chance romance book and this definitely proved to be one of them. You get angst, drama, some swoon worthy love and total action that makes you want to keep flipping those pages so quick.

This definitely was a great series!!

5 Major Stars!!
