This was definitely one of those times when I was thinking, "Is everyone else reading the same book that I was?," because this wasn't even close to a 4-star read for me.

I felt that the writing was pretty simplistic, with very little depth. And corny, with a side of flat out odd.
Just warning you, I’m slippery when wet.

---

Are you sucking up to me?
I’ll always suck you up,” he said, wiggling his eyebrows.

---

While the physical part of our relationship is mighty fine”—I grinned—“I know someday we will share more than just our bodies.

---

"You’re killing me so I can be born again."

---
There were also a couple of points that I truly didn't feel were that well-researched. Like the pure illegality of what police officer Colton did when trying to catch the bad guy.
I was able to put a wire on him and had been trailing him ever since. Biggs wasn’t happy to hear about my development, especially when the chief told me it was good work. I flipped him off behind the chief’s shoulder. Immature, but whatever. It felt good.
And the fact that Internal Affairs had hard evidence that another officer was but not only didn't make their move, they allowed Colt to

Then Brad owns a Santa Cruz beach-front cottage. At 21. When he's not even turned pro surfer yet, where he could have 'possibly' gotten high-dollar endorsement deals. Even for the smallest cottage possible, right *on* the beach in California, you're still talking millions, so I didn't see it as being realistic. If you're going to go there, at least explain how a non-professional surfer kid came into possession of the expensive property.

But fine, whatever, reality suspended.

One of my biggest complaints is that after their second date, the timeline is fast forwarded by *months*, so we don't get to see *any* of them actually becoming a couple. I find that extremely annoying when trying to feel a romance developing.

So yeah, not my cuppa and I wouldn't rate this one higher than around 2.5 stars.

I don't do it often but sometimes I read a blurb and well I did it with this book and I loved the idea of the plot. I went in knowing all to well this was a short read and the chances of it being" wow" was slim to none but being me, a kinda gal with her glass always half full and not half empty I started to read.....1st mistake the jumping oh man do I hate jumping in a book it takes away the getting to know the characters and like this one it took away the emotional feel to the book and it left me felling like a cross between the Roadrunner and Tiger from winnie the phoo

But what had me flat out all bonkers was the kidney scene WTF!!!

This book was so unbelievably beautiful. I was sucked into this quickly, had my heart broke and repaired along with Brad. Colton and his niece melted my heart. I seriously loved these two characters, they balance each other so well. Brad supports Colton in everything he does and sincerely cares for him. Colton, in turn, helps Brad heal and move on with his life. He knows he's had tragedy in his life and moves at his speed. I was doing so well until the ultimate happens.. I was crying so hard, I couldn't see the words on the page. It was a simple act of love. I started teary up while I wrote that part, my heart still is broken. I can't say enough about this, I absolutely adore everything about this book! Characters were relatable and had very supportive friends to help along. I want to read more from this author. Once I get some more free time, I'm reading this again for sure!

So I do not like to put spoilers or too much of the story line in my reviews but here we go. I have loved everything I have read by Gen Ryan but I was hesitant to read this because I do not typically read a lot of M/M romance. I am so glad I read this because I would have missed out on this Beautiful, sexy book! This is a wonderful story about two people falling in love and healing each other. I immediately fell in love with Brad and Colton and I was rooting for them from the beginning. The chemistry between these two characters was explosive. I felt like I was right there with them feeling all their emotions and I swear I was blushing at some of their interactions. I love when you feel connected to the characters and get lost in their world and this book accomplished that. I would highly recommend reading this and I was so glad it was a HEA!

I have debated on this review for what seems like forever so I am going to get the thing I didn't like out of the way because it really bugged me.

Not Everyone needs to be connected to each other in the story!
Like you don't have to have "Lead A" friends/acquaintances with "Lead B's" brother/sister/cousin/bestie and it be "Oh! you already know each other!". Seriously, it's not needed, it was so predictable it had me rolling my eyes.

Ok, now on to the story.

Semi Pro Surfer Brad heads to Rhode Island for a fresh start after a catastrophic accident that leaves him losing more than just a loved one, he loses part of himself.
Trading in his surfboard for tools, Brad buried himself in working as a mechanic and trying to forget everything in his past, that is until he meets with a therapist, Abby, and she helps get him back in the water.

Colten is a workaholic, so much so that it cost him his last relationship. Three years later, nothing has really changed especially since he is trying to get a promotion. One day picking up his niece from her swimming lesson, he meets Brad and instantly there is a connection.

Things hit off pretty fast with these two as they both work through demons of their past and try to move forward, knowing that together they can over come anything.

Loss, self-discovery and of course, finding true love when you least expect it.

Predictable? Hell yes! But it was a sweet read.
Does this story have an HEA? Yes. I would have like it a little longer, give us a little more of Brad and Colten, but hey, I'm a greedy #bookwhore like that :)

Losing You is a must read for those of you who not only love a M/M read, but for those of you who love a HEA after finding yourself and someone who accepts you for you. At first I thought the title referred to the events of how Brad and Colton lost a part of them and didn't want to risk losing what they were yearning for. Wrong! It was about accepting what they lost and how they couldn't imagine not getting the HEA they deserved. Losing You is a very touching story with some tragic events though that will make your heartache a little bit.
Brad was an aspiring-pro surfer until one tragic event changes this all for him. So sad! He moves to start over while trying to find himself again. Melanie you are rock let me say! He may be a mechanic, but not by choice. He is given a chance to help others and overcome his fear you can say.
Colton had it all. The job and the relationship with a new house. So he thought. Love wasn't enough for his ex-Ben though. While he buries himself further into his career, he meets Brad while helping out his sister. Livy you are hilarious and I think I would have blushed too if I was Colt and Brad with your comments. Too funny! Though the twist with Abby was another good one. Abby you sly one.
The chemistry between these two were instant. Though they had a past to hurdle over, never in my life did I expect the twist we got though. In the line of duty takes on a whole new meaning. Brad accepts Colton's work hours and Colton helps heal Brad for which his family is thankful for. That ending though had my heart beating. Now that is true love and acceptance!
Taylor and Livy were the healing factors and so much alike it was kinda scary that fate brought it together like this. The secondary characters really shined in this book as well. I cannot wait to read about Melanie cause yes, she deserves her own HEA after what she endured. Max/Jason, I like you, but I don't. haha. You won me over in the end though.
The moral of the story is you have to endure a loss sometimes to get the HEA you deserve. You may not see it at that time and may take years for some and not others, but without this tragedy you wouldn't have met that one person who was your soulmate.

I'm so glad we got Brad's story.
Brad's story made me cry. It was a sad story so be prepared.

Brad has had a good life. The surfer boy who loves his family. Never in a million years did he think some tragic would happen, until it does. It's changes Brad, an he moves to a different state to start over. But the past just won't leave him. He's having a hard time trying to move on. He has his job and his friends but nothing seems to be working. Then Colton walks into his life, and everything might be looking up.

Colton is a cop. He's been working his butt off for years to make his family better. He's hoping to make lieutenant soon so he can get a regular schedule. He's had heartbreak but it seems that his job has been coming before anything else. Colton realizes that he needs to change and meeting Brad just gives him the extra boost. Then out of nowhere a horrible crime might take everything away.

Reading about these two broke my heart and put it back together again. It was so worth all the tears. Such a great story. I can't wait to see what's next from this author.

'I craved a connection,someone to make me forget,and so far I'd come up empty.'(Brad)
'The Scars and pieces that are left behind from our past lead us to a future that can be whatever we want it to be.'(Colton-Brad)

This M/M story, another in the 'Trade Me' Collection was enjoyable, with the book blurb giving enough away to hook the reader,it is told in dual POV,which I love, both leads dealing with their own issues, one of tragic circumstances, there is an instant attraction when they both meet for the first time, the story moves along with some added drama/angst moments and I would have liked it to have been a bit longer,or with an Epilogue,as I did feel it a bit rushed towards the end, however,as I said I did enjoy it,and it is the second in this collection that I have had the privilege of reading and introduced to another new author to me.

Losing You is the sweet and hot story of Brad and Colton. Both of them have suffered in the past in various ways that can still have an effect, even if you think one way is worse than the other. They meet by chance, although there might be a hand of fate (sisters) involved. The sparks between these two are instantaneous, but they both have issues to deal with.

There is a little bit of everything in this book, which makes it a delight to read. There is love, danger, friendship, and betrayal, to name just a few. Losing You is well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and would love to read more by this author, and in the Trade Me series. Definitely recommended by me.

I liked Brad and Colton's story, their meeting each other was fate. The worst thing after finding your soulmate though? Is facing the possibility of losing them.

Wonderful emotional read!

After a tragic accident Brad heads off across the country to start over. Battling his demons and trying to move on he finally accepts help and starts to slowly heal.
Being so invested in his job caused A long term relationship end for Colton. Up for a big promotion he decides to put all his energy in making the promotion happen. That is until he picks his niece up from swim class and is face to face with a hot guy in board shorts.
We all wanted Brad to get his happy ever after and the author did not disappoint. These two are wonderful characters and the story although heart breaking was very well written. I totally adored this it.

Another fantastic read from this author! I loved her other book in this collection, Fix You. It was great to see how Maxwell and Jason were doing in this book. Brad's story is such a heartbreaking one. Losing his sister the way he did was unimaginable, especially when associated with something his life revolved around. When he meets Colton, sparks fly! Romance, heartache, a little humor, a little steaminess, combine together to make for a perfect read.

Sweet, so sweet.

Whilst cop Colton was focused on getting his man the house of his dreams, his man walked out the door, leaving him alone once again. Brad is avoiding living fully, leaving his family and his passion for the water behind. It is the water that brings Brad back to life and brings Colton into his life.

Whilst Colton has been focused on his career, Brad helps him realise he can have both love and a career.

These two men deserve someone who will cherish and love them for who they are: flaws and broken bits as well. They are perfect and awesome together encouraging and supporting each other which makes you feel part of their journey. I felt instantly connected to these characters, with my heart going out to them both. This was a beautiful and riveting story that you won't want to put down.

Loved this. I cried for Brad. He lost so much of himself that you just want to hold him and never let go. Seeing him flounder and in pain was hard but his journey to finding strength and his passion again was beautiful. As was Colton’s journey to seeing that there is more to life than work-like love and family. I hated to see him hurt by Ben but can understand why. He was a workaholic.

Brad starts to get his life going again and this is when Colton comes about. the attraction is so heartfelt and through the roof. I loved though that it didn’t begin to be sexual right away. they got to know one another. Find out about each other. See that they wanted to be there for each other. To love and support one another before they gave into their urges.

Colton was a workaholic who loved his family and job. He was driven but when Brad comes in his life he begins to question himself. He wonders is a job all he wants. Brad has him see that there is more to life. That he doesn’t want to be just a cop-although he loves his job-he wants more.

Brad is the lost one trying to find his way. He has so much guilt that he is drowning in it. Overall he is a great guy. Sweet and kind and in need of someone to help him find his way. Colton helps him. He is understanding, patient and supportive. His family helps Brad see that family is everything again. His love and kindness helps Brad want to move on and forgive himself.

We don’t just get a love story and journey of two people to find themselves and each other. We get a bit of danger as well. Colton is up for a promotion and it is tough competition but someone is a snitch at the precinct. As he is falling in love he is also watching his back. It is this that has Brad see what he wants because when he is faced with the possibility of losing someone he loves a choice must be made. A choice that is so beautiful and unselfish it tears at your heartstrings. These two are perfect for each other and their story is wonderful.

A wonderfully written of two men finding their way and falling in love with one another as they help each other become who they are meant to be. Of love and sacrifice, joy and family. The characters endear you to them and their story has you attached to them and hoping they find their way.

Brad Morris moves across the country at 21 after a tragic loss. Brad is working as a mechanic on the east coast with one of his friends from middle school back in California. She helps him realize he needs professional help to grieve his loss and tells him where to go. The therapist gets him to go back in the water by teaching kids how to swim. One man picking up a little girl from class catches his eye. Colton James is a cop trying to make his boyfriend happy by working a ton of overtime to buy him his dream house. What he doesn't see coming is when Ben packs his bags and leaves after Colton gets him the house. Colton helps out his sister with her daughter sometimes since she and her husband are very busy professionals. Can a cop and surfer have something special, or will they lose themselves? Find out in this awesome read!!!
