Secrets Between Friends: The Australian bestseller Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 382 ratings

Friendship is a million little moments, but can it survive this one? Three friends embark on a luxury cruise to celebrate their ten-year reunion in this heartfelt story of how long-held secrets can catch up with even the best of friends

Life was about living, experiencing and emotions. The good and the bad. You had to laugh to cry. You had to love to hurt. You had to jump to fall or fly.

Best friends
Abbie, Jess and Ricki are set to recreate a school trip they took ten years earlier to the historic port town of Albany, the oldest city on the stunning turquoise coastline of Western Australia.

Ricki, a dedicated nurse, harbours a dream she hasn't chased. Is she actually happy or stuck in a rut?

Jess, a school teacher and single mother to little Ollie, had a tough upbringing but found her way through with the help of her closest male friend, Peter. But Peter has bought an engagement ring and is ready to propose to Ricki . . .

Abbie had it all: a career, a loving boyfriend and a future, but a visit to the doctor bears scary news. Her world is tumbling down and she feels adrift at sea.

SECRETS BETWEEN FRIENDS is a poignant novel of romance, family dynamics and friendship. Through her highly relatable, sympathetic characters, beloved Australian storyteller Fiona Palmer writes about issues, experiences and emotions we have all faced while posing the ultimate question: What is really important in this life?

This is a wonderful story of friends walking along paths they thought were right for them. We all forget how to live the dreams we imagined as kids. We all think as adults it is too hard to make dreams a reality. But this story shows paths can change and futures are changeable. It was a beautiful story I couldn't put down. I do want a sequel, i always want to know what's next.

Well this is a slightly different novel to the ones I normally read. But I loved it and the individual but also entwined stories of friends. Heartbreakingly honest and heart felt pain and then the tears fell.

Fiona Palmer is a new to me author, and I have been on a bit of an Aussie author binge lately. It was also nice to jump into a contemporary romance for a change (not going to lie, a lot of my reading is a LOT more steamy than women's lit!)

We all have secrets (anyone who says they don't is a liar!), and I was curious to see how these secrets would play out amongst such a close knit group of friend.

It did take me a little while to get into the story (I put the book aside for a few days after I started it) however once I picked it up again I read it all in one night.

Our main characters are such different ladies, this might be the reason why I didn't connect with them all. I did connect with Jess and Abbie, but I struggled with Ricki. Not 100% sure why, but it was that way.

Secrets With Friends will take you on an emotional journey as secrets are revealed and our lovelies deal with the fall out.

This was my first Fiona Palmer read, and I am sure I will be reading more in the future.

This is the first book written by Fiona Palmer in the Rural Romance Genre. It’s Australian based, and follows the story of best friends Jess, Abbie and Ricki as well as Ricki’s boyfriend Peter, who go on a three day cruise down the coast of Western Australia. There are Secrets Between Friends and these secrets come out during the cruise. Will this cause problems with their friendships??? What happens when this all comes to ahead???? I love reading books that are based in Australia and this is a book that I’d recommend.
