Billionaire Hunter Knox comes straight up – with a side of trouble.
Heir to a bourbon fortune, he’s hired my ad agency to save his family business. It’s my chance to win a star client and prove I can play with the big boys, until my one-night stand comes back to haunt me like the ultimate hangover.
Now I have to think up a killer campaign, and keep from falling into bed with Hunter again. Which is easier said than done when he’s the most handsome, arrogant, downright sexiest man
I’ve ever met.
I’m going to need another drink.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2015I seriously enjoyed reading this series! There was just enough angst to keep it interesting...the romantic interludes didn't hurt either. I went through the three books without stopping. ..who needs sleep when they work 12 hour days? Well written, great character development, fast paced storyline...I now have another favorite author. - Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2016I picked this one up after reading the blurb, but I didn’t pay attention to the cover where it says Part One… so it turns out that it’s part of a serial… oh well, I gave it a try anyway. It turned out to be a pretty good read for my first Lila Monroe read.
It began with Allison (Ally) tasting bourbon in a bar, as part of research for the ad campaign she is working on. A handsome stranger comes over and before she knows it, she’s taking a chance and they are heading back to her room. I could see this encounter was going to bite her in the butt… but it was amusing none-the-less! Soon she’s working with this stranger and fighting her attraction because she wants to succeed with this campaign and make a name for herself.
I liked how Ally was driven and didn’t allow her feelings to intrude on her professional life. You can see that she is very attracted to Knox, but feeling like a nobody in the past has made her determined to make this campaign a success. She’s treated poorly in her workplace, and there are a lot of jerks on the sidelines just waiting for her to fail. There were a few moments between Ally and Knox where she would let her guard down, and I could see the heat rising between them, but she was quick to back away.
The ending though, kind of broke both Ally and myself, and reminded me why serials annoy me at times! The story was great, but nowhere near long enough, and they end abruptly leaving you hanging for more. It was an addictive beginning to the series, and I felt that the author did a great job building the world and hooked to the characters. If you are looking for a short read, with plenty of flirting and fun, definitely try this one!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2015You know when you start to check the percentage or page number. Then beg the Universe that by some off chance there's more left than what you actually have left. And finally you've resigned to thinking "I'll be okay. I'll get through this". But it ends...and you are not okay, you will not get through this, and why does 17 days sound like an eternity all of a sudden.
This book is packed with refreshing humor and sexual tension so thick Emeril Lagasse wouldn't be able to cut through it.
Allison Bartlett is giving herself one last chance to prove that she can fit into the "old boys" club. Determined, she sets out to make her pitch unique and more importantly one that won't be brushed aside simply because she's a woman. But, for a task as original as the one Ally has in mind the research has to be just as innovative. She was supposed to be focused on the task at hand, but that's hard to do when the sexy stranger from the bar is suddenly standing at her table.
Hunter Knox; proud CEO, heir to the Knox family business, guarded, oh and he's Ally's mystery man from the bar...who she somewhat slept with.
Working together shouldn't be hard. Right? With so much on the line for them both the decision should be easy: focus on the job. But the best laid plans.....
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2017Be prepared to pay a whopping $5.98 to read this entire book on Kindle. For that price i'd rather buy the paperback. I really despise when people put forth a book in "parts" so that they can make more money on the Kindle sale. So you read the first "free" part, you get hooked on the book and then have to pay not one additional fee but two additional fees since the rest of the novel is divided into two parts. That being said, this book is awesome reading. Captivating with several twists which keep it interesting. A pleasure to read. I give it 3 stars only due to the way they scam additional funds by making two parts to finish the book. Just tell us right up front that we need to pay the $6 bucks so that we can decide if we really even want to start reading. Also, since each part is a book, I now have three additional books to sort through instead of one when looking through my kindle library. Bleah....
- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2015I'm still reeling from a total book hangover!! Lila Monroe has stunned me yet again!! Billionaire with a Twist is an amazing beginning to this new series! Hunter Knox is not your typical billionaire! He's hot, charming, will sweep you off your feet, and is a southern gent to boot! However, his life isn't going so well at the moment. Then there's Allison. She is headstrong and not willing to mix business with pleasure but when these two are together, you can feel the electricity! Will her decision to not submit to her feelings cost her?
Absolutely loved this book and can't wait for more!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2019I'm usually not a big fan of cliffhanger style books - they often seem contrived and gimmicky, so I'm surprised I enjoyed this one so much. While I didn't love that element of Billionaire with a Twist, I did find myself charmed by the beginning of Ali and Hunter story. Lila Monroe has the ability to create laugh out loud characters that make you root for them. And I will probably end up finishing this series. I did get a little tired of all the similies and metaphors, but they were well thought of and fitting to the characters personalities. I also got a little confused when I realized the story was supposed to be in Virginia - I honestly thought it was much more deep south. I'm a born and bred Virginian and know that people have their antiquated Southern ideals even here in Virginia, but it seemed out of place. And while I know that Virginia can take 4-6 hours to travel throughout, and Hunter might very well have his own private jet, I felt it a little odd that he 'flew in to DC...It's not that far of a commute from most places in Virginia.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice
I read the first chapter of this book when it was advertised at the end of another novel I was reading on my Kindle. It sparked my interest and I really don't know why because I am ttotal and a book about booze would not be my thing! There was absolutely no indication that it was a trilogy. So imagine my frustration when I got to the end and it wasn't the end. Well I couldn't put the first book down so I was almost hyperventilating searching Amazon for book two and there I found book three as well (phew!) I don't like hot and cold she loves me he doesn't love me romances, I'm not interested in in booze but this trilogy gripped me from the start and I really couldn't put them down. I do like an author who is talented enough to make you feel all the emotions even the deeper ones. So this author has the talent. There is just one thing.... in the first novel the main male character reveals he has a secret stash of food and explains it makes him feel safe because there was a time when he had no food at all! That was never explained why in any of the books and I want to know why? Why did a man who came from a wealthy background , for a short period of time not have any food at all to eat?????

4.0 out of 5 stars A good fun read
I enjoyed reading this book, it was a good fun read. Good characters in Ally and Hunter. Far too short though and with a big cliff hanger ending. I would recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great book. Would have been 5 stars but for cliff hanger.
Excellent book. Interesting story and plot. Only just over a 100 pages so very annoyed about the cliff hanger and it being a Trilogy. Each book only just only over a 100 pages so could actually just have been one book. Also not available on Kindle unlimited. Cost not commensurate with pages.
