Chelsea (The Club Girl Diaries Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 1,649 ratings

Chelsea spent most of her life running.

She was young when her parents were killed, and she was thrown into the system as just another statistic. One foster home after another, hell after hell. When things got too hard, her first instinct was to get out and fast.

She didn’t mind being a club girl. Who wouldn't want a group of possessive alpha males on your side and in your bed? The freedom and the lifestyle allowed her to spread her wings while the rules and bylaws kept everyone in line. It was comfortable – safe.

But while her head told her she was happy, her heart reminded her constantly of what she really wanted – Brothers by Blood President, Optimus. He was a brooding asshole who was sexy, loyal and pushed the boundaries of both her body and her mind. He never let her all the way in, but she still couldn't stay away from him – he was addictive.

Optimus had only one rule – family comes first.

He knew that sometimes sacrifices needed to be made in order to keep the ones he loved safe. He'd done it before and he would do it again.

Being President of the Brothers by Blood MC meant he couldn't show any weakness. His feelings for Chelsea were off the charts, but so far he'd managed to hide them and keep her at an arm’s length thinking he was protecting her. Beautiful, athletic and sassy, she wasn't just another club girl, she was HIS girl.

Danger is fast approaching and Chelsea is in its direct sight. Will it be too late for Optimus to show Chelsea how he really feels? And when secrets are revealed will Chelsea stay and stand beside the man she wants or will the urge to run just be too strong?

Addison is the author of the Club Girl Diaries series.

Elizabeth Hart has been a multifaceted performer her entire life. Her interest in audible arts began with her grandfather, a member of the Choctaw tribe who liked to tell her passed-down stories from his heritage. She began performing on television and stage when she was a child and has carried her passion for entertaining into adulthood. Elizabeth lives on the West Coast with her family.

Troy Duran's journey to audiobook narration started with radio in 1983. For the first thirty years of his career, Troy was either on the air hosting morning and afternoon drive programs, or behind the scenes producing station promos and commercials. By 2005, his moonlighting gigs recording commercials for advertising agencies locally and nationally allowed him to become a full-time voice for hire out of his home studio. Then came the opportunity to record audiobooks. Troy has more than thirty titles under his belt so far, from historical fiction and horror to thrillers and romance novels. He lives in St. Charles, Missouri, with his beautiful girlfriend, Sheila; her seventeen-year-old daughter, who tolerates him; his precocious eleven-year-old son; one overweight black Lab, a Corgi with a Napoleon Complex, and the world's cutest cat. He has two beautiful adult children who already pursue respectable careers in teaching and fine cuisine.

Addison Jane is a born and bred kiwi girl with a passion for romance and writing.

When she gets the chance, she enjoys the little things in life such as reading, dancing, music, and travel, but her world really revolves around the teenager who calls her Mum. It's an interesting balance between alpha males and dance classes but it works.

Growing up on a small farm next to the beach will always make her a country girl at heart. But since moving away to a small town close to the city she's discovered a dangerous love for shopping.

Writing stories has been something that’s come naturally since she was young, and with the massive support of her friends and family, she finally decided to step out of her comfort zone and share them with the world.

She enjoys bringing her books to life with strong female leads, sexy passionate men and a rollercoaster of twists and turns that lead to the happily ever after that her readers desire.

While this could probably be read as a stand-alone, I don’t personally consider it as such and HIGHLY recommend it be read in series order. There are multiple reoccurring characters, consecutive timelines, background pertinent to the world building, characters, storyline that cannot be adequately detailed within this story (i.e. Target, the DePalma Cartel, human trafficking), and overarching themes.

** If you have not read the previous story, the following may contain spoilers **

⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, multiple / shared partners, spanking for pleasure and/or punishment, restraints, etc.; violence stereotypical of the genre such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, blackmail, coercion, threats, human trafficking, drug use, drug distribution, gun running, betrayal, subterfuge, etc.

There are grammatical issues throughout, but not as many as previous stories by Addison Jane that I have read and nothing that was difficult to interpret. There are incorrect word choice / tense (woman vs women), incorrect / missing punctuation, missing words and extra inserted words. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

I was a little disappointed in that there was only a couple of intimate scenes with Optimus and Chelsea in what is a fairly lengthy story. Fortunately there was enough detail (i.e. stolen glances, chemistry, etc.) in this one and the previous that their feelings came through. This one had a lot more subterfuge, mystery and action and less focus on romance.

This story begins after the end of the previous story. Chelsea finds out that Optimus has cancelled her classes and she is not happy. She confronts him, but he reminds her of “her place” and tells her there is more going on and it is not safe for her to leave the compound.

Chelsea turns the tables in that if the club is not paying for her classes, then she is not a “Club girl” and therefore doesn’t need to “take” care of the men (even though it has only been Optimus for a long time), and she will just leave so she can get a job to pay for college.

The conversation makes Optimus angry, but he is convinced he is doing the right thing in trying to push her away. He gets her to calm down and wants to enjoy what time he can, because he is afraid things are not going to go well when they get there.

The next morning, Chelsea wakes up and Optimus has already left. She goes out to get some breakfast, then before she knows it there is someone at the gate for Optimus and a stunning woman comes in and walks right up to him. They embrace and touch foreheads. Chelsea is stunned and not sure what is going on … Then before she can figure it out a little girl bounds toward Optimus calling out “Daddy” … She can hear her mother telling her to run … No way is she sticking around for this

I enjoyed this story. It was well written and fill of action and a deep intricate plot line. I liked the possessiveness of Op... when I read about him. My one complaint/issue with this story is that there was not enough Chelsea and Optimus time. They were apart of a good portion of this story as that is what the plot dictated, but I wanted more of their relationship. I felt that I get a better view and more interesting romance from their relationship in Harmony's story. This one felt more plot and action directed rather then MC romance. Still a great story and I am moving on to the next in the series.

Wow!! Addition Jane is quickly topping my favorite author lists. Just like the her book Harmony, this is enthralling and full of surprises. This is not your run of the mill MC book. There is substance and meat to the story. Character development is great. I felt like I knew every character personally, especially Ham - LOVED Ham (short for Hamlet - lol)!!

Chelsea is not just any club girl, in more than one level. Falling in love with Op is the cherry on top as this girl's life is so much more than you would originally expect from a club girl who grew up in foster care. I love the fact that there is Mafia, DEA and MC involved. After reading Harmony's story, you expect the Mafia to rain down on the MC because of Target and his death but there was so much more intriguing Chelsea's story even more.

The supporting characters are full of life. The ending isn't really a cliffhanger but it is an introduction to the next book. Can't wait for Blizzards's story. Don't know how Rose will redeam herself but it's going to be a tough one. Looking forwrad to that book.

Loved the book - not the cover so much?!? That is NOT how I pictured Chelsea from the previous book - just saying...

Wow, what an emotional roller coaster! Author Addison Jane has continued this series with yet another Grand Slam story for me:) I literally read this with tears in my eyes the entire book, a huge lump in my throat and oh yeah, and a whole lot of feelings of wanting to punch Op in the head a few times, lol!!!!! I LOVED Chelsea, I mean, I loved this girl...she was beautiful and smart and sassy and feisty and her back story was crushing and I just wanted for her to get exactly what she wanted and that was OP. Ya, I get he thought what he was doing was the right thing but NOOOOOOOOO it was all WRONG!!!!!!! Wrong for BOTH of them, hehehe!

This story was an emotional roller coaster of so many damn emotions from start until finish. When I say until finish, OMG, I am dying here, I NEED to know WTH is going to happen with my beautiful Blizzard, lol!!!!

I don't want to give anything away BUT if you haven't started this series, please do, it's fantastic!!!!!! This story was everything and more than I expected!!!!!

Congrats Addison Jane, you hit another one out of the park for me and I can't wait for what's next:) A very big fan!!!!!

Wow a lot of twist and turns in this story and even some surprises; especially Optimus's daughter Harlyn. Chelsea is one of the club girls, but her and Optimus had a strong bond and they fell in love with each other, but he kept pushing her away thinking he was keeping her safe, but sadly the Italian mafia had other ideas. Chelsea was hurt badly and lost oxygen to her brain, but with lots of therapy she's doing better. She thought she had a good friend in Rose, but she was actually a hidden illegitimate family member of one of the son's of the mafia, and her worthless piece of crap dad abused her and used her to get at Chelsea. Optimus thought he lost her forever, but she's stronger than I think she even knew. Yay for Sugar moving back with Harlyn to be closer to her dad. Happy reading.

I really wanted to give 5⭐️ for this book but unfortunately I don’t like Op. this author is new to me and I found this series through audiobooks. After listening to Harmony I went for the rest in the series. I was intrigued to see how this author will make me like the club girls which are usually presented badly in all MC books. I would say a really liked Harmony. With this one I really struggled. Optimus has sad history with his mom and dad and I can understand a bit his reasoning. But the brotherhood is supposed to be something you can rely on, and there is no history of bad relationships between his mom and dad so I don’t understand his decision of pushing Chelsea away. Not only that but in this and the next few books there were decision made which I thought were quite stupid and almost made me stop reading. Another thing I didn’t like in the whole MC are those rules where they are all protecting the woman and helping but if a woman is in need of protection her choice is strip or club girl. They say we treat the woman right but including Op called Chelsea a club girl in a bad way or to put her down. So unlike Kit he couldn’t prove to me he is all for Chelsea.
I must say I continued the series and writing and story improve in book 6 and 7.
