When Maddy returns to her hometown for her brother’s wedding, she is forced to face both Trent and Gabe for the first time in two years. I really enjoyed this book, the love triangle wasn't what I was expecting, between two brothers.

I like that we met and grew up with them all, and admittedly thought that it was going to be Brian and Trent, not the hot bigger brother.

So Maddy came back home for her big brothers wedding, knowing that she would have to see both Gabe and Trent after keeping her distance while she was in New York.

I loved her BFF I thought she really showed Maddy how much she cared for her, while her own romance was blossoming between her and Brian.

Maddy had a tough time with her mom, whilst growing up, and took refuge at the brothers place, with their mom, being more of a mother than her real one, so I guess surprised is an understatement with her mom's behaviour when she returns home for the wedding. She brings her friend Ian back as her support, but the week leading up to the wedding isn't without drama, not to mention the jealous bridesmaids.

So we learn all about the times Trent leaves her, and to be honest I wanted to throttle him, then with Gabe always being there for Maddy, picking up the pieces, I wanted to throttle her! She couldn't see how sweet and caring Gabe was.

She had hard time dealing with the the sudden death of her father, that was very sad, and it was Gabe who came through for her not Trent, but she kept choosing Trent, always seeing the good in him, not the selfish man he was turning into.

She had to make a choice, but at the same time break her own heart, she didnt want the brothers fighting, seeing as she was the cause, she made the one choice she could, and let them both go! One brave lady.

The wedding goes extremely well, and must have been really hard for her to watch the two boys, but she did have Shawn who turned out to be her saviour, he was really funny.

Maddy also made it up with her mom, after finding out she had met another man, who had asked her to marry him, he turned out to be the boys Uncle, although four a bit Maddy thought it was Gabe, typical case of putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5!

Finally she gets her happy ending, with one off the boys for once being totally selfless after realising what he had been doing to her all along.

Loved the epilogue, really deserved, I hope we get to find out a little more about how they all ended up.

The main characters were great with very good strong supporting character Trent was self absorbed and Gabe constant and dependable, I was routing for Gabe. Although it would be nice to hear more about how things pan out for some the other characters. I would recommend this book if you like soppy and hot romances this book is for you

this love triangle is so loving and caring, I love how you get to read the characters lives from child hood to adult hood. I also love how you go throw all the raw emotions that they do and see how they all grow up to becoming who they are. I love the ending of this book because you can't believe what she ends, for what she thinks is the right path to go down. I wish there was a second to this storey or another similar to it (with the same characters)

A good light easy read. But, and yes there is a big but hence only the 3.5 stars, it's another one of those stories where if only the main characters talked to each other there wouldn't be much of a story at all.

    I did enjoy this book.
The story does flip flop between present and milestones back in Maddy's past, so for that the story does progress at a good pace.
Because the way the past stories are written I think it is sort of obvious that Maddy will end up with a Basso brother and shortly in, it became too obvious which brother it would be. The lack of involvement sort of gave it away for me and I found myself flipping through the pages to find the obvious "conflict" element and see if my earlier guess was right.
It was a bit disappointing that the storyline was obvious, as the concept of the storyline and the writing was good.
It's just a shame that the way it was delivered, ultimtely gave the story away.

I had no clue which way the story would go so by the time the ending rolled by I was shocked and over joyed. So much love for Maddy and the other characters.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves unusual love stories.

I enjoyed this book so much at the start. I loved the alternating chapters, one from the past, then one from the present. However the story began to drag a little. Love triangle stories can be tricky. It was obvious who Maddie was going to end up with. The 3 characters involved in the love triangle became very annoying. Was good but might have been better if the book was shorter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meet the Basso Brothers...
Reviewed in the United States on 10 August 2013
"You are more my girl than his girl."

"Love Me Back" is an angst-filled emotional roller coaster that hooked me from page one.
I can honestly say I fell in love with this book!! So okay...It basically takes us through one hell of a ride Maddy Jennings calls life. Life with the Basso brothers in it. Meet Trent and Gabe. Since they were little, Trent and Maddy had been best friends, but then they took things to the next level, becoming on and off boyfriend and girlfriend throughout the years. Where as Gabe is Trent's older brother.

"You are my brother's girl. If he can't be here, then I will take care of you."

Life caused Trent and Maddy's relationship to be FULL of ups and downs, not only relationship wise, but friendship wise as well. The important thing here is that during each and every one of those "downs," Gabe was somehow always there for Maddy. Granted he was there as a friend, but of course, things started to change... feelings started to bloom. FYI, there isn't any cheating in this book. :)

"When you were destroying me, he was picking me up." - Maddy

"Believe me, Mad, you are every guy's type." -Gabe

Sometimes I absolutely loved Trent and other times, I absolutely hated his guts. He could really be a jerk and yet, he could really make up for it. The way Michelle Lynn wrote and developed his character, made it very hard for me to actually stay mad at him. I guess you could say I had a love/hate relationship along the way. Where as with Gabe? I kind of always loved him!!!!

"I want to be the reason for your smiles and laughter. I want to make you happy and feel loved." - Gabe

I loved the fact that this book went back and forth in time. We had alternating chapters between the present day and several key moments during Maddy's life. You know how some authors publish prequels AFTER they release the actual novel and when you read that prequel everything you read in the novel has a deeper meaning or simply put, makes more sense? Well THAT'S what the flashbacks in this book were for me. They made everything in the "present day" chapters fall into place... they made me understand even more Maddy's actions and reactions.

Thank the Lord this book didn't have multiple POVs because that would've just KILLED me! To actually know what these boys were feeling and thinking would've broken my heart even more for them. So for once, I think I'm glad a book was solely in the heroine's point of view.

"I'm not willing to sacrifice you for him." - Trent

"I am sick of waiting for the time to be right. I want you to be mine." - Gabe

Maddy deep down always knew her choice...but things happened, life happened... And boy, did it. While reading this book I laughed, swooned, cried, and I definitely squirmed. I literally had a "WHAT!!! This canNOT be happening!!!!!" moment and a "Ohhh no....." heartbreaking moment. I really believe this book is a true page turner. I was very antsy while reading wanting to find out more and more.

The secondary characters were very well developed and simply amazing! They helped make the story line anything but boring. I really loved McKenna, Bryan, Jack, and Ian. They were so funny and had an amazing chemistry with each other.
The ending was... wonderful!!!! Two thumbs up!!! I finished reading with a huge grin!!
Okay, seriously... Go read this book! I loved it and I highly recommend it!
    Michelle Lynn, I'm a fan!

Provocative story of childhood romance, second chances, forgiveness, unconditional love and everlasting friendship.

When Maddy went home to attend her brother's wedding, she was dreading it. As the story starts to unfold, I get to know why. For the past two years, something from her past kept haunting her that she wished never to set her foot again on her hometown. She’s struggling to bury her past and coming over to that one place and seeing again the person who has left her heartbroken and devastated would just re-open up her wounds. But she just couldn’t say no to her brother, Jack, the only person she’s left with.

Maddy grew up in an unstable home and a neglectful mother and it’s with the Basso’s family where she found acceptance and love which her own family couldn’t give her. With Jack away for college, she was left alone to mend for herself. Along with the help of her friends (Ian, Mackenna, Bryan, Trent & Gabe) that she was able to overcome every hurdles that life throws at her. But choosing between the guy she’s been dreaming to be with since her childhood and the guy whom she least expected to fall in love with, left her more vulnerable and confused. To top it all, they’re not just regular guys. They’re the Basso Brothers – Trent & Gabe, the town’s most-sought after bachelors. Maddy has to make a choice. Who could it be? Is it Trent? The famous soccer ball player who has been her childhood sweetheart and best friend, the guy who’s been stringing her all along on their on-off relationship, who keeps on hurting her again and again yet she remained at his side. Or, is it Gabe? Responsible, selfless and enigmatic are just some of his positive qualities. The guy who’s been secretly in love with Madgirl for God knows when, yet willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of her younger brother. Her decision could break a friendship, brotherhood and family. Either way, she has to make that decision no matter what the consequences are.

Love Me Back is a powerful and emotional story about Maddy as she struggles to have a perfectly balanced life and her quest for love and happiness despite everything she has gone through. This story will let you experience life through the eyes of Maddy and will leave you in a myriad emotions. It will make you laugh, cry, swoon, sigh, sad, angry, mourn, hope and believe. This will make you fall in love with love and believe that there’s still hope after loss. As the story swings from past to present, you’ll fully understand the concept and characters of the story. For several times, I paused from reading. Why? Because I got so frustrated over Maddy’s indecisiveness. She kept on torturing herself and Gabe many times. Why can’t she just realize that Trent is not the one for her? That he just ends up hurting her more and more. That he’ll always be self-centered as always. Oh, sue me! Trent is the villain here and I’d never picture him as the good guy. Several times I want to scream at him. Then, there’s Gabe. My heart broke for him a lot times. He’s always at the hurting end. Though I don’t agree with some of his actions and decisions with all the “you’re my brother’s girl” crap, I still like him. I’m really glad that Maddy grew a backbone before the story ended. I have witnessed her transformation, on how she grew up more mature and went ahead with what she really wanted all along.

I loved the story. It started slow for me but as I read further, I found myself so immersed with the story and its characters. A great read as I may say. It has a perfect balance of angst, romance and steam with unforgettable characters. Love Gabe so much, he’s definitely a book boyfriend material.

    Highly recommended.

Wohoo I love all of these great reads I am finding!!!

I have so many books sitting there waiting to be read and as I was going through them I picked this one, not sure why in hopes it would get my heart fluttering and my pulse beating faster and that it did. If you want angst, well you got it, if you want a wicked love triangle, checkmate. If you want to be torn well this is for you.

You will be glued to your set anxiously flipping pages to know what happens next, trying to figure out exactly what happened to Madeline in her life, why her and Trent were constantly on and off again. You want them to be together but you want to kick him in the ball sack. You want her to be stronger but realize sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants no matter how much it may turn your world upside down. While you Re trying to figure it all out Gabe is there and he is somehow making his way into your heart as well even though you don't really realize it until he is there and then you are rooting for him. Then when Trent gets all possessive and claims that Madeline is his you gets all flustered. They have been in love and relationships for years, it's like they are woven into one another's lives but Trent is selfish and hurts her alot and why not have someone sweep in to pick up the pieces that he leaves shattered about? And who better than Gabe. Yes, he is his brother but Gabe is always there when Trent isn't. Boy, oh boy talk about some drama. It gets your heart beating so fast you feel it beat from your chest, your pulse races like you have been on a 5 mile run but when you come down your heart aches not only for one but for them all. Someone has to let to but no one wants to.

The author had me fooled for a bit I thought for sure that things were not gonna go in my favor and my heart once again was broken. But yes it was mended in the end. I was elated.

The author did an awesome job at sucking you in always wanting more heck I still want more. I think there should be another story with Madeline and ......., yeap you will have to read it to find out which Basso brother steals her heart and keeps it. It is so worth your time. I promise!

Reviewed in the United States on 16 February 2015
Ok let me first start with what I like....Maddie has a huge crush on Trent and has since she was a young (11 years old). He is a star soccer player. He comes from a line of older brothers that were regaled as hometown football heros for bringing home the championships year over year. The Basso brothers are the "it" boys that all the girls want in town. I loved the innocence of their love story. I loved how she crushed on him and it took him awhile to see what was in front of him. However, I enjoyed the past story much more than the present (her brother's wedding).

The book flip flops from past to present and you get a sense of how Maddie has been treated and how she has loved. I don't want to spoil anything....but this a love triangle book between two brothers. Maddie got on my nerves because she certainly couldn't read hints or signs. I faulted her in the demise of the relationship, because she clearly didn't communicate what she wanted. She allowed and forgave a lot, and her resentment compounded year over year until it exploded like a volcano. She just couldn't spit out the words and tell people what she wanted and how it would be. Her timid - got to make everyone happy - got on my nerves.

The way the book just wraps up - "no hard feelings" - we are all friends and everything is good" didn't work for me either. I don't know but it seemed the characters didn't remain consistent. It wasn't bad, but it didn't hit it out of the park for me. It was a slow read at times for me. I lost interest and didn't feel the tension or angst that the author seemed to be trying to convey.

"When you were destroying me, he was picking me up."

I'm not kidding when I tell you that there hasn't been a book by Michelle Lynn that I didn't absolutely love!! This is Michelle's debut book & you wouldn't know it. She is definitely a freaking rock star!! She could write anything and it would be a 100% for me. Michelle makes you feel everything the characters are feeling. This book was no different!!

This book revolves around Maddy and her relationship with the very fine Basso bothers Gabe & Trent. They all grew up together. Maddy & Trent are the same age and Gabe is 3 years older. It also revolves around her older brother Jack getting married. She also has a lot of unresolved issues with her mother that have been there her whole life.

Maddy never thought she'd ever go back to the place she grew up in. She also thought she'd never see Gabe or Trent again. But, her brother is getting married & set up a week long of events for everyone in the wedding party. We learn rather quickly that Maddy & Trent fell in love when they were 11yrs old.

The book bounced back and forth between past & present time frames. Which I absolutely loved!! Michelle did a fantastic job of filling in the gaps of their childhood.

Maddy & Trent are best friends. They are also each other 1st for just about everything. Maddy is Trent's rock. Maddy is the one person that is always there for Trent. Unfortunately, it's not like that the other way around.

"I want to be the reason for your smiles and laughter. I want to make you happy and feel loved."

When Trent & Maddy are getting ready to go off to college Trent breaks Maddy's heart. While Trent is at college living it up. Maddy is all mopping around until she gets a knock at the door from the person she least expected. Gabe. Gabe and Maddy soon become very close rather fast. It's nice because for once in her life, Maddy comes 1st. Gabe and Maddy are trying to fight the feelings that they are starting to have for the other one. When they all head home for the holiday Mrs. Basso sees what is happening & puts a stop to it rather quickly. Poor Maddy is left heartbroken again!!

Maddy and Trent try again. But, of course Trent is Trent and it doesn't work out. Gabe hates the way his brother treats Maddy. But, he also can't stand being number 2 all the time. None of them have spoke in years. Until now.

"You are my brother's girl. If he can't be here, then I will take care of you."

Trent wants to come back & win Maddy back because he says he has finally realizes how much he loves her. And, that he now knows how much he took her for granted. Gabe also wants Maddy. He is tired of listening to his mom. Tired of not wanting to hurt his brother. He's tired of his heart hurting without her. Maddy on the other hand. She wants to go to her brothers wedding. Stay as far away from her mother as possible. She wants Gabe & Trent to become brothers again. And, she wants to move on.

But, of course its not that easy!! There are a lot of secrets that have gotten out. People have changed. Now, Maddy must finally choose who or what will make her the happiest.

”I thought this time would be it but you just embarrassed me again. Make me look like a jackass, following you around begging you to be mine. I should have known you would always pick him.”

Everybody has at 1 time or another been torn between 2 guys. I personally could not imagine being in love with 2 fine, sexy brothers. They are both excellent guys. Both brothers were there for her at different times. Both picked her up at her lowest times. Now Maddy needs to decide to either finally pick a brother. Or walk away from them both. This is one decision I'd hate to make. Especially, between these brothers!!

There wasn't anything I disliked about this book! I loved the characters. I loved how it bounced back & forth between past and present times. There were times that I was yelling at either Maddy or between the brothers. Other times I was crying with them. It was written very well. And, I for one can not wait for what's next!!!

"I'm not willing to sacrifice you for him." ~Trent

"I am sick of waiting for the time to be right. I want you to be mine." ~Gabe
