BLURB:
A biker torn between loyalty to his club and love for his woman.

I let Evie Bishop go once. I won’t make that mistake again.
I’ve loved Evie since we were kids, before I found the Storm MC.
Long before I sold my soul to the devil.
I never wanted to bring her into this world, but a man can only go so long without the woman he loves by his side. I need her like I fucking need air and I won’t stop until she’s mine again.
I knew she’d battle me.
I knew I’d have to fight hard for her.
But I never thought I’d be in this predicament—torn between her and my club.
The thing about me, though, is that I’ll do anything for those I love. Even if it could cost me everything.
This story contains all the panty-melting sexiness and alpha goodness that Nina Levine books are known for.

Honestly this book was only okay for me and I don't have much to say about it. Kick and Evie weren't bad characters but neither of them really gave me much to rave about. I felt like they both had their own lives going on and this book focused more on them individually than it did of them together. Overall, it wasn't a bad book and I enjoyed it, but it just didn't leave me much to go crazy over.

This book just didn't do anything for me. I am very disappointed, and I am trying to put my finger on exactly why. I just felt like everything was forced...or maybe more like rushed between the hero and heroine. They do have a past together, and then they move on...All of a sudden they are back in one another's life and it doesn't take long to express their undying love for each other..and then they fall into bed with one another and the rest is history...
Of course, there is more to it than just that, but the relationship just felt rushed to me, and also surfaced.

Kick, who is our hero; is a member of the Sydney Storm MC, and he has a very dark and violent side. He has even killed. He tries to hide that part of his life from Evie, but when the reconciliate; her conditions are that he has to show her ALL of him. The good and the bad. Kick also puts himself and his club in a very dangerous situation because of a debt that Evie's dad has. The crap hits the fan, and chaos begins.

I had high hopes for this series, as I really enjoyed the other Storm MC books. Even though I am let down with Kick and Evie's book, I am impatiently waiting for King's book. He is the president of this club, and he has demons that I am dying to find out about. My fingers are crossed that this series will get better the more it continues. As far as this one goes...I am just going to move on!

I haven’t read an M/C book in a very long time, but I really enjoyed this one. Even though it is a spinoff series from Storm M/C, I wasn’t confused at all was able to follow along just fine.

Evie Bishop and Kick Hanson have known each other most of their lives. After not seeing each other for a while, they reconnected after a death of a close friend. Evie tries to fight her usual attraction to Kick, but it’s no use. It’s like they were destined to be together.

Kick Hanson has been in the MC for a very long time. He is supposed to be a bad ass biker, but he has a heart of gold, especially when it comes to Evie. He wants her by his side, but what happens to his loyalty to the club?

The story was MC light, not a lot of club action/business. It was more about Evie and Kick, and their push/pull relationship with lots of hot sex.

I may continue with the series at some point because I am a little curious about a few other members of the club, especially Nitro.

I'm torn between a 3 and 4 star rating. I didn't really see the chemistry between them for most of it. There was lots of angst and hot sex. There was a hole left. It wasn't a big one, but still a hole. And they never did get to play with his toys. Just a big tease for the reader.

There are a lot of other hot members (Nitro what's causing the sadness, King what's made him like that, Hyde why does he so easily switch between Jekyll and Hyde, Diesel....) of the MC to get stories. I won't be reading them until their e-book prices drop. Y'all know I have e-book pricing issues.

"Find the good in your life and put the bad behind you"

I was so excited to get my hands on Relent; there can never be too much Storm MC, Sydney or otherwise, we clear? I really enjoyed the 'flashbacks' in this story that showed me how Kick & Evie's relationship began as kids. They truly had been through so much together, to not be together...

It drove me crazy waiting to find out why they weren't. I wanted to know the details NOW, but the author knows best and she decided to gradually unravel a beautiful story that would keep me invested in the outcome. She made me fall in love with the young couple as they struggled through painful events that drew them even closer together, forcing them to depend on each other when others failed them. With such a strong foundation, why couldn't they make it work? What would cause Kick to walk away from Evie? How could Evie move on without knowing the answer to that question? How could she trust him with her heart again, even though he still held it? Her head told her that they had tried to make it work and it just wasn't meant to be, but her heart had been his since she was 10 yrs old. "He'd left soul prints on me". Kick stayed away from her for as long as he could.

But then another tragic event occurred in their lives and they were forced to see each other again. Yup, it was like an electrical force field, they felt it immediately, and so did I. "Well, okay then!" He tried to hide his activities from Evie, choosing not to share his club life with her. "She was the lightness to my darkness". He thought he was protecting her; she thought he wasn't letting her in. There were so many things standing in the way of them being together, but their chemistry wasn't one of them. It was explosive. It was intense. It was HOT! And did I mention that they were both dirty-talkers? He told her, "Promise me that you'll never lose that f*@cking dirty mouth of yours" and she responded that he's the one that taught her. Their banter was sweet and funny and I could feel their emotions. He was so scarred, and hard, and badass all the time, except when he was with her. She brought out the gentle side of him; her presence calmed him. How could he convince her to give THEM another chance? "Life might be hard, but you and I can do everything possible to make US easy".

I must say, I was a very enthusiastic cheerleader for Kick, verbally encouraging him and putting in a good word for him every time I talked to Evie. What, you don't talk to your characters? I really enjoyed Sydney Storm MC and I can't wait for the next one. There are a few more sexy, badass bikers that I want to talk to. (wink-wink)

Relent: let up...

Nina Levine takes you down a redeeming road that not only recaptures but restores an endless love.

"I still love him. With every fibre of my being. With every scar he’d left on my heart. I still want a life with him."

Evie and Kick have loved each other since forever. Growing up as friends and eventually becoming lovers, these two have always been there for one another. A heart breaking tragedy and a family scandal threaten to tear them a part, but the love they have for each other keeps them together. That is until Kick's demons and Evie's self doubt, puts a rift in their relationship. Years pass with them not speaking until tragedy once again strikes, throwing them back into each other's lives.

"I could never deny the pull his heart had to mine."

I loved their story, their journey, and their roller coaster rides of inner turmoil. For me, Relent had just enough of everything that I look for in a book which in return made me fall in love with it. Yes, this is an MC book but it doesn't have to be murky waters and blood shed all the time. I love that Nina gave us a little of that but still managed to stay true to the concept of Relent, her vision of this story and it's story line.

This isn't a story about violence or what your perception of an MC should be. This is a story about a girl and boy who fell in love. About a man and a woman restoring what they lost. About loving yourself and seeing that you are worthy, that you are enough.

This book tackles a tough topic, one that I can relate to. I hope that this book reaches multitudes. No, I know it will. This book will touch everyone who battles daily or has battled with self doubt and let them know that it's okay to get help. That it's okay that you needed help. So, I thank you Nina...I thank you for writing this beautiful story. Add in the sexy times, Evie's rather vulgar language and KING...and let's just say this book was more than memorable.

I patiently wait for the next installment while my heart impatiently waits for King's story. #HeCrownedMe #HisRoyalty #KingMe

Final thoughts: Get Kicked ;)

Why do I do this to myself?? Spoilers below

I hate MC books. So why did I read this? I thought it said they loved each other for years, that they were it for each other and blah blah blah. What that meant is we had s*x with other people but we didn't love them like we loved each other. Spare me the deep romance riffs please. This book just made me sick . The s*x was crude and there was violence, murder, and mayhem. All this did was confirm to me to never read a MC story again. As a side note, we are in a little town in the mountains and we were walking down the street and there was a biker bar and it was packed with bikers here for some festival. And I want to just say this; there was not a good looking, muscular, clean one in the place. Those are the real bikers right there. grimy, bearded, and dressed in leathers. Some of them even had teeth. I hate when reality bursts my bubble. MC books will no longer be tolerated in this establishment. I need to bleach my eyes.

I had to add a note that even though I was not a big fan of this book I did like the writing and I want to know what happens to the other members and the storyline. I am trying to read them but I may just have to make up my own ending and call it good. I am trying though.

4-4.5 'I Want You Forever' Stars

"I've always loved you and you've always been good enough."

Evie and Kick are currently my favorite biker couple out there! If a love is meant to be then it always finds its way back to its soul mate - fighting it is useless because the heart wants what the heart wants. Kick want Evie and vice versa, but their relationship encountered some serious bumps, which broke them apart and left them hurting.

"Love had packed up and walked out of my life a long time ago."

Kick and Evie have been friends since they were young teens and out of their friendship developed a deep love. A love that had no boundaries, no limits, and ran deeper then any ocean.

Let's just say Kick messed up big times - no, don't worry he didn't cheat - he thought he's doing the right thing but in the end he only hurt himself and the love of his life, Evie. He lost it all and what was left was an empty hole were once his heart beat for Evie; a love that kept him going and made him a better person. But now.....all was gone...only emptiness.

"...unless you've changed your idea of what being a couple is," I said softly. He leant his face close to mine. So close I could almost taste him. "Let me in, baby. Let me show you how I've changed."

The first book in Nina's Sydney Storm series hooked me and I can honestly say her writing was intriguing, the reading pace flawless and the characters lovable. I'll definitely continue reading this series to get to know the rest of this MC crew.

Kick was a great hero: strong, alpha, dominant with a big heart - oh yeah and he had a dirty mouth! What else can a girl wish for ;) If you loved her previous books or are in general a biker book fan then this is another book to add to your tbr!!

"My mind had no choice because my heart had already made it."

Relent is the first book in the Sydney Storm series and it is KICK A@@ Amazing! Relent gives us two amazing main characters. Kick who is a very Easy- to-Love Alpha that would do anything for those that he cares about and Evie who even with having emotional setbacks is an honest sweet strong willed independent woman. Kick and Evie have been friends since childhood and despite having life changing situations have always been there for one another and as the story unfolds we get to witness their undeniable passionate love for each other. Relent also introduces us to some of the other Sydney Storm Boys, and I officially want them all! This book has opened up a MC world that I can’t wait to get lost in with each new book! Relent is emotional intriguing sexy and just amazing! A beautifully written captivation story! I devoured it!

+++ 3 KICKIN' STARS!!! +++

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Relent was the first Nina Levine book I've ever read. So, you can say my Levine cherry has been officially popped lol. This was a good read with a great story line and concept behind it.

Together, Kick and Evie faced a lot of obstacles and after so many years of being apart, Evie took a chance again and allowed Kick in. Kick lives with a lot of darkness that at times consumes him. Scared that his world might taint Evie, he selflessly lets her go. What Kick never understood was that Evie loves him unconditionally and she would have endured every bit of his darkness just to have him by her side.

The saving grace of this book had to be Evie and Kick’s childhood love. Add in Kick's knowledge in the pleasure department and you'll definitely be in for a treat.

Now, I did have a couple issues. The fact that I was left questioning a lot of things, the lack of detail in certain scenes as well as me not being able to completely connect emotionally with the characters is what ultimately dropped my rating down. They had a beautiful love story but I needed more than that. I wanted to experience every emotion from angst to misery and everything in between during their journey and sadly I did not.

One thing I will make clear is, I won’t allow the things I disliked in this book to deter me from reading any of Nina’s other books. So, please don’t allow my review to put you off from reading Kick and Evie's story. Just because it wasn't sweetened the way I like my cup of tea, doesn't mean you wouldn't love it <3.

This book was the start to something new and AMAZING from Nina. I think this book showed more emotions than her others and there is no complaints here. It was still raw and exciting but I felt more with Evie and Kicks story than I have with the other bad ass bikers and chicks I've read about from this writer. Well Slay comes close but this is about RELENT! Hee hee

Kick is a man of loyalties. He is someone I would love to have in my life and my bed ;). But seriously, he has the biggest heart even if he doesn't see it and he's a great addition to the Storm MC world. Always there when you need him and not afraid of anything. The love he has for Evie and what he's willing to do to keep her, had my heart melting. *SWOON* From his bad ass biker side, King's lucky to have him!

Evie takes no shit. Seriously, she makes Kick work his way back into her life and her heart. I could understand her reluctance and loved every minute she made him sweat haha. Even with all the self doubt in her mind, she's still a strong woman to be proud of and exactly what Kick needs in his life and by his side. Men like him always think they're alone and think that what they are willing to do to protect what's there's makes them bad. FAR FROM IT! They need good woman in their life like Evie to show them that's straight bs. I think they need each other more than they thought. They are each other's light....

The ending made me happy as hell. They overcame the obstacles, survived the danger that lurked, and came up on top to be the strongest they've ever been. I need the next book in this series like TOMORROW! The way Evie described Nitro when she met him...ugh that man is gonna break my heart, melt it, than put it back together. I KNOW IT!

Who's girl do I wanna be now??? It will always be UNDECIDED as long as Nina keeps writing these amazing guys, ugh. ;)

3.5So, I was sooooo excited to get more Storm and Nina, but literally the first 50% you could take it or leave it, it was just meh. So much so I went and read like 4 books before finishing it. And
 photo tumblr_m44xsssojp1qjgyuwo1_500.gif
it also didn't help that so many books are just recycling names. Really makes it hard to keep series separate. Literally I just read a MC series with over 10 books where Evie and King were major players. So this with Evie and Kick and his Prez being King lead to a mindfuck, but whatever.
The second half of the story picked up but still seemed weak compared to the other Storm MC series. Kick was too sweet to be the enforcer.
Hopefully with all the trouble promised the boys will become true BADASSES in Nitro's book.

I took me a while to read the whole Relent, not because it was a bad story but because my new puppy Jupiter is that demanding. *snort, snort*
This spin-off series had started more grittier than the original one. Only black smudge on it was now-very-repetitive way how they dealt with the big, bad villain.

There is something about how Nina Levine writes her hot biker guys and witty heroines that make it so easy and addicting to read! Relent is just another proof on how the she (the author) tells magic through her stories.

"We'd always be those kids who loved each other. Underneath all the shit that was me today, I still loved her."

Childhood friends, Kick, Jeremy and Evie, they used to always have each other's backs, attached to each other's hips, always there for each other for support and love. Until an accident happened and another scandal followed and their lives changed. It was incredibly enthralling how Nina Levine went from present to flashbacks. There were hints of the past where I kept on thinking "What the heck happened before?" and then the next, there's a flashback explaining everything to me. No, it's not an annoying kind of flashback where it keeps going back and forth in every chapter. No. For me, it worked so well that the flashbacks only happened when needed. It was not dragging. Those flashback were actually pretty emotional and so straightforward and relevant to what's really happening in the present.

"What do you want, Kick?"
"You."

When another tragic accident happened, Evie and Kick were led in each other's path and this time, Kick is not going anywhere. I freaking loved how Kick was still so in love with Evie, he was determined to get her back and in his bad ass biker ways, he was protective of her. I also freaking loved that he didn't make any excuses about the past, he straight-up told Evie the reason he left and he owned it. Kick kicks serious ass!!!

"Evie would be mind forever. I'd make damn sure of it."

Relent is a pretty quick read but don't be fooled because like how much I admire Nina Levine's talent in writing different storylines with each book and characters but still being able to stick to that one overall plot that connects each stories, you know like with the Storm series, Evie and Kick's story is a complete treat that might even bring tears to your eyes. I may have shed a tear... or three. Friendship, love, family, Relent has the mix of an enjoyable hot reading treat!

Stars: 4.5 Stars
Recommended to: If you're a fan of the Storm series, this spin-off will leave you as satisfied and craving for more. If this is your first Nina Levine, MC book, what are you waiting for?
Series: Yes. Standalone series.
POV: First person. Dual POV.
Extra Comment: I would love to read King's story but I guess I'll have to wait a little bit longer because Nitro is up next and Nitro is pretty intriguing, too!

I am officially in a Kick Hanson hangover! Nina Levine has once again taken the MC romance world by Storm (haha… see what I did there?) with her newest novel, Relent! Relent is the first book in the Sydney Storm MC series, a spin-off of her Storm MC series and I could not be more excited for this new adventure. Nina continues to blow me away with her beautifully complex characters, thrilling storylines, and ability to set the pages on fire with the chemistry she creates. We’ve already gotten a taste of the overarching story that will run throughout the whole series, connecting each book to the next, and I can tell its going to be an intense and exciting ride.

Evie Bishop is my favorite kind of feisty female lead. Besides her obvious beauty, she is intelligent, loyal, and loves fiercely. She also happens to have a smart mouth that can be absolutely filthy, holding her own with the big bad alpha male in her life. Nina Levine made sure this was a woman you could relate to and adore, securing an undeniable connection with the reader. Kick Hanson is everything a delicious alpha male BBF should be. He’s hot as hell, unwavering in his allegiance, and ferociously protective. He also happens to say all the right sexy things to get a girl melting at his feet. I fell harder for Kick with every growl that left his mouth. Between their scorching chemistry, fevered discussions, and the extensive and complicated history tying them together, Nina Levine has created something simply combustible with this couple.

Nina Levine conjured up plenty of feelings from me with Relent. She had me feeling devastated, giddy, furious, and captivated by her words, unable to walk away until it was over. Not only was this Evie and Kick’s love story, but Relent was about finding family wherever it may be and fighting to protect it. The juxtaposition of Kick’s family with Evie’s and the Storm MC family painted a highly emotional picture of what it means to stick together. Nina had me on the edge of my seat as their bonds were tested and I’m so anxious to see where she is planning on taking the Sydney Storm MC. I’m already addicted to this crew and curious to hear their stories. Nina Levine has once again managed to pull me in and get me hooked on her fantastic and crazy MC world.

Nina you are an evil genius! I want more of The Sydney Boys and I might cheat on Griff with Devil. Lol Just kidding, but I have to say, The Sydney Boys got my attention! I'll be anxiously waiting for the next book!

Evie Bishop has loved and been best friends with Kick Hanson all their lives. Although they tried making a relationship work between them, Kick thought it best to not drag Evie into his "world" when he joined The Storm MC. Tragedy of their close friend brings them together and Kick soon realizes his mistake of ever letting Evie go.
He was her rock. Her champion. Her biggest supporter, growing up.

"you're always looking out for me and I've never done anything to deserve it" ~ Evie

Evie is amazing! She's a beautiful smart mouth sassy person, but like most women, she has insecurities she struggles with.

Kick is a dirty mouthed, loyal, sexy as hell biker! A total freakin alpha and he'll stop at nothing to get Evie back into his life. Evie and kick together are intense. Loved everything about them, from their banter to their little arguments. Ahhhh and not only do we have to deal with kicks filthy mouth, but Evie's as well. Boy, did they have me all hot and bothered. Lord and their chemistry is of the charts. They are so right for each other it's crazy and it's amazing how through so many obstacles keeping them spectated those years back, they seem to find their way back to each other.

" I thought you didn't love me enough to fight for me, but now I can see you loved me so much that you walked away with unselfish motives. You such a good man, kick, and you don't even realize it." ~Evie

Nina love, you've done it again. Crated a story with real life struggles that most of us can relate to. Stories about loss, pain, and survival. About trying to survive all the challenges life throws at you. That the actions of a parent can deeply affect their child. Your characters inspire me. Flawed like the rest of us and struggling in their darkest moments, they always come out fighting for their love. Their happiness.

If this was a drink ide call it sweet hot and kickin cocktail

I love a childhood to adult romance, well as romantic as you can get with an mc read.

Kick had loved protected and cared for Evie since childhood although events separated them their tethers pulled them back together.

Although Kick is part of an mc it doesn't go into much detail of club business but more of whats going on in the hearts, minds and lives of the characters and I liked that. There was no unnecessary violence shared or dribble.

An mc read with hotness, sweetness, tenderness, drama, great characters and beautiful ending.

Nina has done it again this is by far a KICK @SS read, I was hooked from the very beginning!!

Relent is the first book in Nina's new biker series. This is a new standalone series so you do not have to read the Storm MC series to read this.
Relent follows Kick and Evie. It's a steamy biker book with many heated scenes, bloodshed and passion that is off the charts. Evie and Kick have been through so much together, ups and downs, arguments, relationships, break ups, pain and passion that spans over a lifetime of knowing each other.

This isn't your "typical MC Book", it's a romance story that really has you routing for both Kick and Evie, certainly the smoking hot sex scenes help with that but, overall it's just a story of forgiveness, finding love all over again and having the confidence to believe in it.

One of the things I love about Nina's books is the females she writes. She always gives us real women who have something in them that everyone can relate to. Evie was no different! She has an amazing way of empowering women, their beauty, strength and ability to be the rock behind their strong men. With Evie she was just the epitome of how appearances can be deceptive - beautiful on the outside to everyone around her, but gravely insecure on the inside after years of being chipped away at by classroom bullies and a broken family that had been left shattered after a family tragedy. I loved how she flourished with Kick and came into herself and it has to be said that she had a mouth that can give the dirtiest of men a run for their money.

It starts with a little background on Kick and Evie as teenagers, we get to see what both had been through and then we get to see what they are like today. Evie is in love with Kick and has been since she was little, but doesn't think they would ever amount to anything other than friends. Kick is the person that likes to solve all his friends' problems and has no issues in defending Evie when others get her down. "He was my best friend and that was all it would ever be. And I'd made my peace with that a long time ago."

We skip forward many years later to when Kick and Evie are reunited after a year of no contact. Evie has to see Kick again on what is already a hard day for her without the added stress of him turning up. Evie knows that if she spends time with him, she will give in and all she will get in the end is more heartbreak. Until Kick gave himself fully to her, she doesn't want to let him in her heart again. But Kick has over ideas, he wants her, he loves her, he never stopped and he won't give up until she in his arms, bed and he's back in her heart. "I see you, Evie. I've always seen you, and I know you're struggling. Let me in."

Kick's other commitments and loyalties cause issues as he won't let Evie in, he doesn't want her in the world of Storm, but is she willing to join his world regardless? When lives are threatened by people looking for revenge, will Evie be safe? Will Kick and Evie get the ending they deserve and have to work for? Will Kick finally let her in? "Her touch was magic. Her words were healing. And I knew her love was everything I needed in this shitty world."

To quote Nina "To anyone who struggles with self-doubt. You are enough. Never doubt that" Never a truer word said!

Absolutely amazing read, definitely one to one click!!

Relent (Sydney Storm MC, #1) by Nina Levine

Relent (Sydney Storm MC #1)
Nina Levine

"I raised my brows. “Is that an ‘okay’ type statement or a ‘we clear’ type statement?” I couldn't resist, and waited to see what he’d do next. My body kinda hoped he’d attack it."
―Nina Levine, Relent

Relent is the first book in the Sydney Storm MC series, which is a spin off series to the Storm MC series. Once again Nina Levine has given us an awesome story. In Relent we meet Kick Hanson and Evie Bishop. Best friends and lovers, but are they soul mates? After spending a while apart they are brought back together due to a mutual tragedy. Despite trying to convince themselves that they didn't want the other, that familiar spark of desire is lit immediately between them. There's no deny that the connection and bond they had growing up was still there and just as strong. But can they work out the problems that kept them apart?

I fell in love with Kick immediately. Him and his dirty mouth and alpha male personality busted it's way right into my heart. Aside from being the sexy as sin biker that he is, Kick is also a sweetheart deep down. His attitude is rough due to issues he experienced growing up. Family life isn't always the best. The one person who knows what he went through and knows the real him is Evie Bishop. They grew up together and she went through the same problems with family that he did. Only the aftermath was harder on her.

Evie is Kick's mirror reflection. She's a smart ass with an equally dirty
mouth. One that's only rival is Kick. I loved the banter between the two. You could feel how much they loved each other. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of these two is "the first, the worst and the last." They were each others first love, worst love (with all the trials and tribulations) and ultimately the last love too. Seeing the heartbreak they both experienced from being apart and the passion and love that brought them back together was beautiful. They belonged together and I was cheering for them the entire time.

Nina Levine has done an awesome job taking us through first love, young love, heartbreak, loss and in the end realization, clarity and back to a forever love. She has a way with drawing you into the story and making you truly feel what the characters themselves are experiencing. She is an author you wont regret having on your reading list with Relent at the top of it.

ABSOLUTELY A MUST READ!!

~*~ arc given in exchange for an honest review ~*~

"It had been a long, hard journey for us, but we'd eventually made it to where we were meant to be. And I was so damn glad he'd made me relent."

This is not just a MC novel, this is a book with real emotion and characters that take your breath away. Evie and Kick are damaged by their childhood. Raised together as friends, brought together by loss and pain their friendship bloomed into something more but their conflicting lifestyles pushed them apart. Evie has turned her life experiences to her advantage and become a counselor for kids, helping those who need it. Kick has harnessed his anger and found a way to use it as the right hand man for the Storm MC, Sydney Chapter.

Kick is torn between his loyalty to his club and his love for his woman. Believing it was better to leave her than drag her into his world the loss of their mutal best friend Jeremy in a drunk driving accident makes Kick re think his decisions. We read as he fights his internal battle to come to terms with what he has become and who he is to Evie. He feels after his childhood and his past he is somehow too damaged to be loved.

"A childhood of abandonment, an adolescence of hurt and grief, a life of regret."

I loved his relentless pursuit of Evie, not backing down, never taking no for an answer. They slowly break down the walls they have each built up around themselves to protect their fragile hearts from any more damage. Evie is a strong woman, taking most things in her stride with the right blend of vulnerability and sass. Her life has been filled with loss and yet she has emerged stronger. The emotional connection between them was palatable in their charged scenes and the sex...so hot I feared my kindle was going to turn into mush!

Can they overcome the obstacles...a large gambling debt, a ruthless gangster, blood vendettas, and old family wounds to be together? Are the odds insurmountable?

The supporting cast of their families, blood and brothers on steel horses, add warmth and more emotional layers to this story. We are introduced to many sexy and hot bikers, a gorgeous brother and I cannot wait to read more in this series. I loved every word and could not put this down until I was done.

Five #lickedbykick stars.

A savage start to a brilliant new storm series
Nina has done it again. I was hooked from the 1st page. I absolutely loved Relent the 1st book in here new series Storm Sydney. I love kick and Evie story how true love will always find its way no matter the obstacles that stand in the way even if that obstacle is self doubt in what you deserve. For years Kick and Evie have been in love with each other but because of self doubt and lack of communication they never worked out. Evie is every man's wet dream with curves to die for and a dirty mouth that would give any man a run for his money. Evie has some self esteem issues which has stend from bullying in high school. Even do she had her two bestfriends who always stood in and protected her the name calling had done it's damage. Kick always had Evie's back along with there friend Jeremy. But for Kick it was more than friendship he wanted with Evie and finally he got her when she was 18 they tried a relationship but it didn't work out. Later on down the line they tried again and failed.Kick is a member of Storm mc and the life he lived was dangerous and he was afraid to drag evie into his world so he let her go. It took for a death of someone close to them both for Kick to realise he never should have let Evie go. He wanted Evie not only back in his bed but back in his life for good she was it for him but would he be able to convince her he had changed and get her to give them another chance. Kick wasn't one to give up easily so once he put his mind to something he wouldn't give up. Evie has always loved kick but she needed more than he was willing to give her at the time. So she tried to convince her self she didn't need or want kick anymore.
Will Kick and Evie give each other another chance?
Can Evie except Kick for the man he is and the life he lives?
All will be revealed in this brilliant story.

Favorite Quotes:

“Some people don’t know how to do better, Kick. For some, their best is our worst, and it’s not always their fault,”

“Life might be hard, but you and I can do everything possible to make us easy.”

“I want you more than anything else in this world baby,”

“I loved my man, but I really loved how he let me think I had some control when we both knew neither of us had any control.”

“I want you to love me, and hate me, and fight with me, and make up with me, and do it over and over. I want you forever.”

“You made me work for it, but I knew you still loved me, and that I’d eventually get you to relent.”

My Review:

I was a late comer to the MC genre, but I am now a certifiable Nina Levine fan girl. I read and fell in love with her Storm MC series, and am now an ardent follower of her inked cult. The Sydney branch of Storm is considerably edgier, and are while they are more wild, hot tempered, violent, and bad-boy, they still have tenderness in their hearts for their families, pet projects (an abuse shelter), and will of course love their women hard. As with all the previous Storm books, Relent is fell of hot sexy alpha males, complicated loved lives, troubled childhoods, family drama, epic love, and off the charts sensuality. Ms. Levine definitely has skills, I know when reading her books, I can skip the gym yet still manage to get a gasping and heart pounding cardio workout.

After reading the Storm series with Blade and Scott, I didn't think I could love another Storm man! However, Kick just comes in knocks my socks off!

Evie Bishop and Kick Henson have basically grown up together, were best friends and grew to become lovers. Kick protects Evie from everything and everyone including himself. After trying to keep his Storm life from interfering with his life with Evie they call it quits. However, fate has different plans for these to lovers and brings them back together. Kick is now determined to keep Evie, even if it means showing her the side of himself he doesn't believe she can love.
Evie has loved Kick for what seems her entire life. Even when they were best friends she loved him from afar. When they separated Evie didn't believe Kick loved her enough allow her to love all of him, and old insecurities from years of bullying have reared their head. After fate brought them together again Evie is done with Kick splitting himself in two and trying to protect her from his life.

There are so many reason to love Evie and Kick, but their love is a true and honest "fairytale" (as much as one can be in a MC =D)
Kick has a dirty mouth and has found a woman to match his dirty. He doesn't believe he is a good man, but Evie brings out the good in him, even if it is just for those he loves.

Kick he gets kick out of pi**ing off his woman, "I couldn't hide it, I grinned. And that pi**ed her oiff even more. Story of my effing life. "What the eff, Kick?" she snapped." He's proud of the qualities he has as well as he should be, "she's right, but I do make sure my woman is satisfied in other ways on Valentine's Day," he said, eyes still on me, a promise held deep inside them." When a man knows he has something good and not to mess with it, means he's a keeper, "to have Evie back in my life made me the happiest effer on the planet. I wasn't going to eff this up again." Obviously Evie needs to keep her man situated in not just the bedroom, "well, you could try not feeding me, but I doubt you'll get much out of me. My woman drained most of my energy last night." He likes his woman wearing certain things just for him and not other men, "I let her lead me, my eyes never leaving her a**. "Sweetheart, I don't want you going out in those shorts. They hardly cover your a**, and I don't need to be dealing with mothereffers checking you out, 'cause that s*** could lead to me ending up in jail." I think this is going to be another series Nina does great in.
