About this ebook

The girl next door is more than she seems…

Gabriel Walker is bored out of his mind. Spending the summer with his screwed up family has left him in dire need of a distraction.

Or an adventure.

He finds both closer than he expected—in his gorgeous new neighbor.

The spark between them is instant. Electric. Soon they’re spending every stolen minute together. It’s the perfect summer fling.

Lucy is keeping a secret. She isn’t the girl next door—she’s the help who’s been hired to house sit for the summer.

She’s a nobody.

If Gabe wants to believe she’s a spoiled rich girl looking for some fun, she can play along with this game. What’s the harm in it?

What they didn’t count on was running into each other at college.

Now Lucy must keep up the pretense of being a rich girl—and it’s exhausting. She knows she’s falling in love with Gabe and she’s terrified he feels the same. Will he stay with her when her secret comes into the light?

Though I prefer the 1st book better, but this is still a great read. I finished it in one sitting. The more I read the more I want to know about Tristan's story. I immediately pre-order the last book. Can't wait for it to come out!!!

4.5 stars! I'm not going to lie, this book really took me by surprise. I was expecting the tried and true struggle between people who are in financially opposite situations but Monica Murphy definitely did it differently. I wasn't surprised to see how much I enjoyed the book seeing as I read it in a handful of hours. Gabe is different when he's away from his friends. I liked this Gabe so much more than the one I met in Fair Game. He's still the bad boy, but he's different with Lucy. It's like he's growing up and wanting to be someone deserving of her. For once he's not just thinking about himself and his needs, but someone else's. I loved seeing him with Lucy. He's caring, considerate, and being a gentleman when everything in his instincts is telling him otherwise. I liked Lucy too. She's a good girl at heart. She's hard working and trying to reconcile being cautious the way her mother has always told her to be with her own desires and need to be independent. The pull between the two of them is amazing. I could almost feel the heat through my e-reader and I was so glad I had a glass of cold water near by to help. I liked seeing Gabe off his game when it came to Lucy. I think it made it easier for him to approach her and then follow along with her game plan as opposed to his. I really wondered what they were going to do once their summer fling ended and I didn't have to wonder too long. I will say I was shocked when they ran into each other again. I know it says it in the blurb but I didn't read the blurb before I started reading, so it was a good surprise. When it came to their financial situations I wasn't a huge fan of the secret Lucy was keeping from Gabe. I understand why she was so hesitant to tell him once their relationship got started, but it seemed like it should've been an issue to begin with. I got why she did it though, especially thinking their relationship was short term, but still they both could've avoided a lot of unnecessary heartache. I loved seeing Shep and Jade again. Even cranky Tristan made an appearance and I have a feeling he has some dark demons. That being said, this book wasn't as heavy on the emotions as I was expecting to be, but I still really had a great time reading it. Gabe doesn't disappoint and I'm sure you'll feel the same once you get to know him.
