Unmatchable

Rate this book
From USA Today bestselling author Sky Corgan comes a sexy new billionaire romance.

I've spent my entire adult life avoiding dating, which is funny because I work for a matchmaking service. My boss calls me "The Beast" because of my no B.S. attitude. My job is to scare away problem clients—the unmatchables.

In waltzes Mister Alfred Barnes. He's stuck up, brazen, and mouthwateringly gorgeous. Guys like him think they own the world, but in here I'm in charge. Kicking him out of my office is one of my greatest pleasures...until I find out that he totally lied about his identity.

Someone is going to get fired over this, and it might be me.

Now Mister Barnes is after me. After me in the most unexpected of ways. I've never dealt with anyone like him before, and years of therapy tell me that he's exactly not what I need.

What does my therapist know, though? She has her own secrets, and I'm beginning to think that everyone is out to destroy me. I'm beginning to think that I'm the one who is unmatchable.

This is a standalone novel. No cliffhangers.

The premise of this story seemed interesting, and the opening chapters set the tone for a light-hearted, humorous read. But don’t be mistaken, this isn’t a funny tale of a strong, audacious woman working for a dating service and an equally ballsy and deceptive suitor.

Ember Washington, 21, might appear bold and brass on the surface, but she’s also presented as a victim, a characterization I’m not fond of for women in literature. She’s weak; she has low self-esteem; she’s a doormat, continuing to engage in contact with people who are toxic to her emotional well-being. Without giving away some of the reveals, I will say that my patience with Ember simply wore out when she continued to seek help from someone who should have severed all ties to her once the obvious conflict of interest was discovered. While the “small world reveal” came as a surprise (I didn’t see that coming) and certainly added a deeper layer of complications, it also had a certain ick factor.

Meanwhile, Colton Larson, 29, though a bit crass at times and a little questionable in the beginning, actually turns out to be quite a catch. (*Swooning over the teddy bear!*) Once he knew all of Ember’s issues, Colton handled it well and emerged as a stand up guy. Ember was lucky to have him. Despite all their snarking and jibs at each other, they ironically should have been well suited. Personally, I’m not sure their banter was attractive, but it seemed to be a turn-on for them.

But ultimately I didn’t feel their chemistry. A lot of that falls on my dislike of Ember. When a heroine keeps outlining all the reasons why she feels she’s not worthy of the hero, it does nothing more than convince the reader that she really doesn’t deserve him which seems counter to the nature of a romance book. Add in Ember’s conflicted feelings for another man and the romance suffers. There’s honestly just a little too much angst here in the form of broken characters and troubled pasts to rate it higher as a romance novel. Ember’s issues with sex might make for a compelling drama story, but it takes away from the romantic aspect.

Furthermore, I don’t care for heavy issues interwoven into what’s initially presented as an upbeat plot and that’s exactly what happens to the point that the story is no longer light-hearted anymore. The mixed tones of the tale just didn’t work here. And while Colton’s back-story warmed him up as a character, Ember’s cold, distant, and sometimes rude attitude made it hard to like her, despite everything she’d been through in the past. At certain points I kept reading merely out of curiosity over the train wreck nature of her life, not because I was invested in the romance. I was tempted to DNF at several junctures.

All in all, I rated this 2 stars because of the unromantic OM/OW drama and the weak, wishy-washy heroine. The epilogue was a big eye roll for me because the whole story told us that Ember was a broken mess who needed a competent, unbiased therapist more than she needed that type of responsibility in her life. Colton could have found better though he was a better man simply for putting up with her.

This was new and refreshing from Sky Corgan. I really enjoyed this book. It's about two people one a successful business man buying out a company and a girl who ran away from very hard times. They have this crazy chemistry together but she fights it cause of her past. Amazing story. Love how he never gives up on her, even when she keeps pushing him away. I couldn't have asked for a better story to read than this. Can't wait to see what else this author brings to the table.

Notes:
Interesting story idea but a truly bad intro with shoddy characters and setting. The narration emphasized the negative elements. I'm definitely trying to get my money's worth from Audible Escape/Romance package but this one is not worth it.

What a great read/listen! I loved the characters and how they met and how their relationship flowed from there. I think Sky Corgan did a great job writing this story that had me laughing out loud in parts and capturing my heart in the next chapter. I found a couple fun little twists built in and just loved the development of the characters through the story and seeing them change and grow.

I listened to this book through my Audible account

I signed up Sky Corgan’s website and I was lucky to receive *free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
This is the first book that I have read by Sky and I absolutely loved it. The Book gives you both their pov’s full of attitude, sassy wit & filthy innuendos.
Ember Washington avoids dating like the plague because of past men issues. She works at Full Hearts Matchmaking Service her co-workers have given her the nickname ‘The Beast’ because she is feisty & takes no BS from anyone. She deals with all the problem clients that are a pain, given bad reviews or broken their contracts, so it’s her job to get rid of them.
MR Alfred Barnes is hot as sin, thinks the world revolves around him and his attitude sucks but he’s in her office for breaching the dating contract. Ember’s doing her job and it’s time to get him out of the office ASAP. But he’s not just a client he’s undercover he’s going to be her new boss. His name is Colton. Because of her past issues she’s seeing a therapist following her advice she’s just started dating through a free dating website. She contacts a guy by the name of ‘BoxPup’ with a cute profile picture a dog. Later shows a body shot. She works out that it’s Colton so decides to play along. He’s filthy mouthed and it turns her on like there’s no tomorrow but she has a no sex rule. Colton is not what she first assumed he’d be like.
Colton Larsen is a very rich owner of multi businesses his latest buyout being a dating service where he encounters Ember’s frosty tongue. She’s one of the one’s going to be losing her job because she’s a liability with her mouth. He joins a free dating site for research and comes across ‘BlazeGenie’ who is ‘The Beast’ herself so he decides to mess with her a bit. But he’s attracted to her and can’t stop thinking about her, even with her sex ban. He has trust issues and likes total honesty. Ember shocks him because she’s not what he expects either.

Can Ember & Colton overcome their pasts and have a happy life that she deserves?

Unmatchable by Sky Corgan surprised me in a good way. I had never read anything from Sky before and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this book. It was well written and flowed well from start to finish!!! Colton was a first glance an arrogant cocky dirty talker but he soon turned into a sweet and charming dirty talker. I loved the banter between Colton and Ember with their text messages being funny and hot!

The story starts off with Ember getting rid of Alfred an unmatchable member of the dating service she works for. She is no pushover when it comes to kicking them out either. She's known as “The Beast”. What she doesn't know is that the man she has been texting with is the same man she kicked out. He's wickedly crass and makes her blush but for some unknown reason she can't stop thinking about him. I hate to give too much away it's better for you to just jump right in and read this one. It's funny and sexy yet has some depth to it as well. Great characters and an awesome story line. I highly enjoyed Unmatchable and would totally recommend this onerous my friends!!! I was given this ARC for my honest opinion.

UnMatchable was a GREAT book to read. This is the first book I have read by Sky Corgan and I fell in love with it. I couldn't put my kindle down. The characters seemed so real and their stories could be related to.

Ember works for Full Heart Matchmaking Service. She has a past that she ran from. Now she is trying to move on and trying to trust others. Ember wants a relationship but something is holding her back.

Colton is a very successful business man. He buys out companies that are going under and turns them back to being successful. He's not a relationship type of guy but when he buys Full Heary Matchmaking Service a certain female catches his eye.

Ember and Colton play a cat and mouse game. Ember is holding onto some secerts that she doesn't want Colton to know. Unfortunately, secrets have a way of coming out.

I laughed,  got teary-eyed and yelled at the characters. UnMatchable is definitely worth reading. Thank you Sky Corgan for a great book and I am looking forward to reading more of your work.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I've read a lot of Sky Corgan's books and have really enjoyed all of them, but I absolutely loved Unmatchable. The beginning started off a little slow but then as I got into it, I couldn't put it down. The story-line is well thought out and flows smoothly, keeping you interested. The characters are intriguing and you can't help but care about them. Unmatchable has some angst, second chances, moving on, romance, and of course... love and a HEA.

I loved this book! I could not put it down. I felt for Ember and wanted her to be happy. I got mad at her at times for pushing Larson away but I could see where she was coming from. I loved the way Ember and Larson interacted and talked to each other. It gave them their own personality. I also liked how the two characters grew through the story. This a definitely a story I will read again. This was a ARC copy for an honest review.

Forget fireworks. Ember and Alfred set off enough sparks to steam up the coldest of rooms. Unmatchable is my introduction to author Sky Corgan and she did not disappoint. I had the pleasure of not only discovering a new author, but listening to the deliciously wicked vocal stylings of Meghan Kelly brought the characters to life. From every opinionated barb Ember delivered to every naughty thought Alfred had, Corgan and Kelly kept the ride wild and the presentation fun.

I received this for a honest review. If you have never read any of Sky Corgan’s books then you have truly missed out. She is one amazing author. This book was so touching. It was about two damaged souls that came together and found healing in love. It shows how love and time can heal wounds. The scars that Ember and Colton carried around were deep. They were truly perfect for each other. Though looking at the two you would see two people from two different worlds.

Ember works at Full Hearts Matchmaking Service. To me the position she had in the company when you first read the book was a dream job. If you ever have been associated with dating companies or online dating then you know some of the people you meet are not what as they seem at times. Ember’s job was to kick clients to the curb if there was something about that like they were married or were unmatchable. She was know as “The Beast”. She did her job well.

As I thinking of what I would put in this review I was trying to thinking about how much I would really tell you about Ember and Colton’s past. I think I will just leave that a mystery. Both have secrets. Both have a painful past and you might even shed a few tears for both of them. Though Colton’s past is truly hard I have to say that Ember’s were worse. Both have trust issues and do not let to many people get to close to them.

Colton is taking over the dating company that Ember works for. He finds himself at a rock and a hard place. He must chose whether to keep Ember and find a better position for her or fire her and get rid of the dead weight. This is something that is weighing heavily on his mind. He finds that he is attracted to her. He loves her spark, her feistiness, and her stubborn attitude but finds her to be cold and rude at times. What Colton does not know is this is all a front. She truly has a good heart and is working hard to heal her soul.

Ember is gong through therapy over her past. Her therapist which I would love to say right here that hated Doctor Spalding. Though at times Ember’s therapist gave her some good advise, I think there were times that her therapist was unethical and the doctor’s views were clouded.

Colton and Ember will start get very close. Ember has some serious dating issues and being with men. Colton has his work a head of him when it comes to tearing down her walls. The understanding, time, love, and compassion that Colton puts into the relationship I found so touching. He was there to give Ember anything she wanted and needed to heal.

There will be some trails and some road blocks that Colton and Ember must go through. Both will have to decide if love is truly worth fighting for. I truly found this to be a great story and so glad I got the chance and the opportunity to read it.

When a simple buy out leads to so much more than anyone could have guessed.

Ember has had a tough life so when her life finally seems to be going in the direction she needs and wants she never thought anything else could happen to bring her back to the hell that was her childhood. She gets to be “The Beast” at her job, and gets to be a recluse in her personal life. When her psychologist decides to up the ante by having Ember go on dates, neither women believed that the one person who would be great for Ember would be the one man willing and able to have Ember fired from her job of 3 years, or someone who is so dominant and forceful when it comes to what he wants.

Colton has turned buying up dying businesses into an art form. And buying up a barely scraping by matchmaking service should be a walk in the park. Until he meets Ember, and her feisty attitude. Colton may be rich but it doesn’t mean that he has been able to have everything that he desires. But now, through the help of a free online dating website, Colton is going to get the one thing he didn’t think he wanted. He’s going to get “The Beast”.

This was a really great romance novel that shows that not every heroine is perfect. And that life in romance books are not always sunshine and rainbows. This was a great read about how a relationship where the women has been abused (in her past) it takes compassion, understanding, and just a little bit of dominance (in some instances) to help the survivor take back control of their lives, and to thrive in their new world while also having a great relationship.

There were a lot of twist and turns but this book ends up as a HEA and there is no cliffhanger. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes survivor romance, and a great hot read.

P.S. There is sexual content in this book.

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of an online dating service? Then you may want to pick up this book to find out.
This story is about Ember and her quest to find the right one for her. Numerous attempts in dating men she's met on dating site have proven to be big failures. She's known as The Beast at the online dating service she works for, which fits well given her position is to deal with unmatchable clients.
The day Alfred Barns aka Colton Larsen enters her office is the day her dating life changes forever. Little does she know that he will be the one to break down the walls she put up so many years ago.
What starts out as a game for Colton ends up being something so much more. More than he could have ever expected.
Will the demons both are dealing with from their pasts proof too much of an obstacle for them to overcome? Will Ember's doubt in her self-worth threaten those walls Colton has fought so heard to break down be built up again?
I loved this story. I loved the characters. Ember is in no way a beast, quite to the contrary. She has a loving personality plagued by a disturbing past. Colton, as arrogant as he comes across hides behind his facade of the womanizer but really just wanting to find the one. As much as you find him unlikeable at first you will change your mind about him in no time.
This is a fun, delightful and sexy read with no lack of drama but also humour. Loved their email and text messaging. A definite recommend.

Unmatchable by Sky Corgan

4 stars

Ember Washington has spent her entire adult life avoiding dating, which is comical because for the last 3 years she has worked for an exclusive matchmaking service. Ember's no nonsense attitude is perfect for her custom job....to scare away problem clients...the unmatchables.

Enter problem client Alfred Barnes. He's gorgeous but overwhelmingly conceited and Ember takes great satisfaction in kicking him out of her office until....she finds out his name is really Colton Larsen. Oh and he's the new owner of Full Heart Matchmaking Service. AKA: Her new boss.

An online dating profile or two and a few snappy conversations create an interesting dynamic between the Boss and the Beast. A budding relationship gets complicated in a flash with the past coming back to haunt Ember and Colton.

This story had a more serious vibe than I was anticipating from the blurb. There was a definite attempt to balance the weighty nature of the storyline with some hot scenes and some sexy talk but accepting that there is a reason Ember needs a therapist (mentioned in the synopsis) is the best way to go. It also got pretty serious fairly quickly. After just a few chapters of "perverted" banter and text messaging the conversations took on a vibe that one would expect further into a relationship.

Overall I enjoyed Unmatchable. It seemed pretty fast paced but well thought out. Sky Corgan handled a delicate subject matter quite well.

Disappointed!

I'm sorry but this wasn't for me. It started out great, I loved the way the two MCs met, and their first interaction. It showed a strong, feisty, very confident, and well put together h, and a very arrogant but attractive H. But that didn't last long. Right when they go on their first date, the author completely switched her personality, to an incredibly insecure, woman devoid of any charm or spark. It also set a new tone for the book going from a fun, light read, to a dreary, sad, angsty story, about a profoundly damaged woman who believes she's so worthless that she can't accept that the H could want her.
I was disappointed, because while the story could have been good, it was poorly written. There are loose ends that were included in the plot to add drama and then just forgotten. The way the h was portrayed was truly sad. She really had nothing going for her. She felt like a wet blanket throughout the story just feeling sorry for herself, and pushing the H away, who turned out to be an incredibly sweet and caring albeit crass and crude man. But he puts up with all of her BS. Honestly I didn't understand why was he so attracted to her. By the 70% mark I honestly didn't much care if they didn't end up together.

This review is being made from a book received as an ARC. Unmatchable is the spicy romance of Colton and Ember. Colton is a rich businessman who purchased the company Ember works at. She is known as the beast because she is the person who tells people that are they are undatable at a matchmaker service. Colton researches the company by setting himself up as a member but when he doesn't show up and is rude, He gets sent to Ember.

This story has it all. Hot billionaire, emotionally unstable characters, blasts from the past, and happily ever afters. It was a great story with a roller coaster of emotions that kept me so engaged I didn't want to put it down.

An irascible billionaire "flunks out" of a dating service because he's too unreliable and arrogant to keep his dates or to stop flirting with other women when he actually shows up for a date. A "beast" of a woman, the feisty manager of Full Hearts Matchmaking Service, is the one who lets him know that their services are no longer available to him. "Alfred" is actually Colton Larsen is actually a billionaire undercover, posing as a client of the company he intends to buy and he's not averse to making Ember sweat. Ember Washington is a competent, take no prisoners spark plug of a woman and she may be tiny, but she's a match to anyone who tries to unsettle her. When he buys the company, he's going to have to fire her but, to keep her, he creates a new position just so she'll be near him. Ironically, they unknowingly and anonymously find each other on another dating site, that is until Colton recognizes her photo and starts flirting with her. Ember has no idea who she's dealing with but it soon becomes clear and, to say the very least, she's shocked! Taking a chance, he convinces her to give him a shot and she reluctantly agrees to a date. Unsurprisingly, they click and nights get steamy. Ember has a terrible past that is rife with parental neglect, addiction and a brother who traded his sister for drugs. She can't look at another man and imagine that sex would be a good thing. Colton is patient, but there is a limit and they do have their problems. I became upset with Ember because she thought nothing of her own worth and kept pushing Colton away because she wasn't good enough. Over and over again, until Colton finally believed that she didn't want him anymore and he walked away. They were both miserable until a person from her past sets Colton straight. It was a difficult path to a happy ending, but they finally found it. The narration is beautifully done by Meghan Kelly. She has an expressive voice that pulls you right into the story with characters that are sharp, clear and individual.

Ember Washington ran away to Houston and never looked back, she started her life over, working for a match making company, she's know as 'the Beast' around the office taking no prisoners letting go of difficult clients who break the rules of their contracts.

Colton Larsen is a client summoned to Ember's office to be let go, she's rude and blunt and has him escorted from the building when letting him go.... little does Ember realise Colton has just purchased the match making company and is trying out their services to know first hand what it's like to be one of their clients.

After being unceremoniously kicked out of Ember's office he joins a dating website and as a stroke of luck Ember is on there and they begin a dialogue, unbeknownst to each other they both quickly figure out who the other person is but don't let on. In a modern tale they banter and flirt online, and eventually reveal they know who the other was on the dating site.

But all is not what it seems, Ember has deep emotional scars that threaten to unhinge her new relationship especially when her past comes back to haunt her, and undo all that she's overcome with years of therapy. Can they make it to their HEA?!

I liked this book, but wasn't drawn into it, Ember starts out strong, it's a facade obviously, as she's hiding a lot under the tough exterior. Colton is charming and sweet, he's dirty and it's hot! Separately these two are good characters, but I just wasn't getting the chemistry, there seemed to be more chemistry with Alex, the friend from her past. The beginning of the story centres around her job, by the ending the job is well in the background... anyway it was an ok read, 3 middle of the road stars

When I first started this story it seemed interesting, and the start of the book made me think it would be a light-hearted, humorous read. But that wasn't at all what I got with this book! I feel like very early in the book it just switched to something totally different than what the blurb indicated the book would be. To be honest, I wish it would have stayed on the path that it started on because I feel like it was 2 totally different books.
Ember (I really hate this name!!) might appear strong and confident in the beginning, but very soon in the book she is also presented as a victim, which isn't my favorite thing to read about. She just always seemed to be this whiney, wimpy woman. She has low self-esteem, and she continues to bring up all the negative things that happened in her life. Colton, who you think you won't like at all in the beginning, turns out to be a really great guy. He stuck by Ember even though I think he should have bolted early on! They had this weird banter, and it was presented to be a turn-on for them, but it came across as very odd to me. They didn't even really seem to like each other the way they talked to each other so it just was weird, in my opinion. I didn't like it. I didn’t feel their chemistry. I didn't care for the heavy issues that are thrown in from left field in what I thought was going to be a fun rom-com from the blurb. I rated this 2 stars because of Ember - she annoyed me throughout most of the book. I was glad when I finally finished the book.

Unmatchable is emotional, sexy and well written. Colton and Ember make a great couple. He's sexy, charming and cocky. She's strong, sharp but more than a little insecure. They meet when she has to tell him that his contract at the dating service she works for has been terminated because he violated some of the provisions of the contract. Her coworkers call her The Beast because she's so brutal when she terminates customers' contracts. What she doesn't realize when she meets him is that he isn't who he says he is. When she finds out who he really is, and he's unaware of her knowledge of his real identity, a funny, witty game of cat and mouse ensues.

When they enter into a relationship, though, Colton realizes how much baggage she has and how badly this baggage has affected her. But, he's nothing but kind and compassionate and loving after his realization. She, though, drives me nuts with how wishy washy she is with him and how much she lets her insecurities affect her decisions and thinking. But, considering why she has the emotional issues she has, I guess it's understandable why she behaves the way she does.

My favorite part of Unmatchable is Colton. He's so sweet and loving, honestly he's probably too good for her, just as she believes. Not because she's trash, like she thinks, but because she's unintentionally emotionally cruel to him and is constantly thinking of running away. Too much drama for anyone to put up with, at least for my tastes.

Ember is known as ‘the Beast’ at the match making firm where she works...it’s her job to get rid of difficult clients...and she’s freaking awesome at it!!! One of her recent clients is a rude, self absorbed guy named Alfred and she quickly puts him in his place...out the door. Unbeknownst to Ember, her company has been sold to a venture capitalist named Colton Larson. Here’s where things get interesting...Colton IS Alfred! And Colton really liked the beautiful snarky Beast. He starts stalking her on a dating site and playful banter ensues. Ember started using the dating site to ‘get in the game’. We learn that something happened in her past that caused her to be skittish about dating. She is intrigued by one particular person on the site. Imagine her surprise when she discovers that her rude ex-client, the new owner of her company & the interesting guy on the site are the same person!! Colton asks her out and the pair begin dating. They open up to each other about their pasts and they feel comfortable with each other. But just when things seem to be going well, their pasts come back to muddy the waters. Will Ember give in to her insecurities and end the best thing that’s happened to her? Will Colton get tired of fighting for her love?
Great story of overcoming drug addiction, sexual abuse and forgiveness. Love the ending! Great narration...suited the characters.
I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

Unmatchable is the perfect romance for modern times. Online dating services are popular, but do they truly help find perfect matches. Dating services are more personal, yet helpful for the busy person. But what happens to those who are difficult to match, those who do not follow the rules, or those who have nothing in common with most? They meet Ember, better known as "the Beast". Colton finds himself on the wrong side of Ember's desk. But he is intrigued enough to find a way to her good graces. Colton and Ember start out on completely opposite ends. But you know how they say opposites attract? Read this story and find out if that statement holds true! Ember is a strong, independent woman, who enjoys her job and does it well. Colton is a self absorbed man who gets what he wants. Will he get Ember to be his? Will he be able to contain her fire? This is one book you will not be able to put down.

Meghan Kelly's narration enhanced the experience of the story. Her ability to keep the characters seperated by different and consistent tones made the narration very easy to follow. Meghan's voice is easy to listen to and helps you get lost in the story. Thanks to Meghan's narration, this story became a movie in my mind.

This book is much different from the normal Sky Corgan books that I am used to, and I loved it. The story starts out light with Ember and Colton with their flirty banter on a dating app, but there is a definite underlying seriousness that gives it some bite and keeps it interesting. Ember has had a rough life, and when her past catches up to her, her vulnerable and insecure side is evident. While I am not fond of weak women, I could easily feel for Ember and found her character very true to life. Seeing her change due to the encouragement and love from Colton is truly beautiful. Colton has some extreme trust issues that will take a lot ot overcome, but he is easy to love with his crude language. Once Ember breaks through his arrogance I found him to be a rock for her to lean on..the question is would she use his strength to find her way to happiness? Corgan has truly written a wonderful story and I enjoyed listening to it.

With her distinguishable voices, Meghan Kelly narrates this book with such emotion and wit that it was easy to immerse myself in the story. She provides a wonderful performance as always.

While I absolutely loved the first part of the book, but the second part seemed to slow right down.
Ember was like two different people. On the outside—to strangers—she was straightforward with a no-nonsense attitude. On the inside, she was a nervous wreck with low-self esteem, especially when it came to her personal life. I completely understand this. Who would want others to see their broken self? Nobody. People put up barriers to keep people from finding out the truth; that they're not as strong as they would have you believe.
Colton was a good character. He wanted to stand by Ember and her self-destructive view of herself. He was kind and all the way through, though I thought the way he was'pervy' to her was a little inappropriate, considering what she'd been through. He was also quick to try to get her into a sexual situation, even though she said she wasn't ready.
What I found odd, was that Ember wasn't put off, and instead played along as though she liked it.

Overall, I felt the blurb didn't quite match the story, but I thought it was a decent read. Slow after the halfway point, but good.

I received an audiobook version for an honest review.

I enjoyed how this started out Ember is one tough cookie and has to be in her job. Anyone who has to deal with customers knows what this woman goes through. Unlike her we have to be nice, kind, and pleasant where as she can really lay it out, do a little there’s the door don’t let it hit you on the way out. She isn’t called “The Beast” for nothing. With one customer not being who he said he is, she finds her self in one big mess that seems to be getting messier as time goes by. It is a cute hot story that is enjoyable and at times funny.

The narrator did a wonderful job really making you feel the emotion of each character as they go through some very hot times. The character voices are wonderful, you always know who is talking and what they are feeling. Her male and female voices are given with strength and character. I really liked how she showed emotions why they were bating back and forward. There are no repeating of words, no background noise, no volume changes. If breaks were taken I could not tell. This is one narrator I know I will enjoy listening to each time I pick up one of her new audios. I really look forward to listening to her voice.

I really enjoyed the beginning of the story, it started with a bang and Ember came across as strong, confident, and in control. That impression doesn't last long, she's gone through some serious crap and it's having a big impact on her life at the moment. Outside of her job it's like she's a totally different person.

Colton is a surprisingly good match for her, at first it doesn't seem like it should work and yet it does.

The story is both sad and inspiring, it's a story of overcoming trauma and choosing your life's path rather than letting your past dictate your future. Well written this was an enjoyable read.

The narration is well done, the character voices are clear and distinct, the separate POV's work well and the delivery is smooth and consistent.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Taming the beast

5 Star Kindle Unlimited Read
As the story begins, I absolutely love the crude back and forth cheeky banter. The line between love and hate is often to thin to know the difference. As their relationship progresses (both good and bad), the tale takes a devastating turn. We learn that Ember was violated repeatedly as a young girl at the hands of her brother using her as payment. Because of this Ember has issues with trust, understandably. She pushes everyone away. It a knee jerk reaction. As her walls come down, love builds her back up. Her life take an amazing turn, even though she struggles with her past. Finally, Ember gets her HEA and a future she never dreamed of.

Loved loved this listen. If I can give it more than 5 stars I would. Loved how Sky thought of a story for an industry that is hot these days. And how disappointing it is for a dating person to get misled by a profile . Loved how the main character was in the process of buying a business and he went undercover to uncover who will stay and who will go . Just when the male character was ready to axe the main female lady he starts chatting with her under a different name on another dating site.
The female lady doesn’t trust males period . That’s why she screans her potinial dates . She also likes saying wise talking sentences.

Love how Meghan Kelly did the characters . When she did the male ones she had a deeper voice . Loved how she was able to do different voices

A heart warming future from a heartbreaking past

At the beginning you think you know which way this story will go , & then BAM, it takes a complete U turn . I love that the story could surprise me .
Ember is the ' Beast ' , she is a ball buster. Colten is a very rich businessman who is very happy to play the field .
Colten goes undercover at a dating agency before he decided to buy it. He wants to see why it's losing money ,& he wants to see who he can fire. The Beast is definitely one he wants to get rid of. Then things change , & as time goes on you find out about something sad that happens in his past, & something horrific that happened in Embers past .
This story is heartbreaking & heart warming.
Great read
