Myself (Selfish Series Book 2) Kindle Edition
Mistakes? We all make them. But when you get the chance to right them, you don't think twice. You take what you know, and you learn from it. I realized I had a chance at something better. He was willing to give me himself. And I wasn't willing to let anyone take that from me again..
Jaycent
I should have never walked away. He wasn't right for her; we all saw it. But I did as she asked and let her go. No matter how much it hurt me. But I've been given another chance. Now that she's back in my life, I'm gonna make sure no one comes between us. Some aren't going to agree. Others are going to downright hate it. But I don't care. I'm doing what's best for me, myself and I ... and she is the best!

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 April 2017After the first book ended on a cliff hanger I've been desperate to read the second book hoping it would start where the it left off but it didn't ... of course it didn't. We had to wait until a good 3\4 through until we got to that crucial scene regarding Ashlyn and Ryder.. I had a mixture of relief and despair.!
Myself is about Becca and Jaycent and I was so eager to find out what was going on between the two of them, after all we were well and truly teased, it was obvious to everyone that something was brewing except Ryder and this only added to all the drama.
I loved how the story came together past and present and hopefully we've heard the last of Conner. I loved the mention of Jet and the Seven Deadly Sins night club too.
While Becca and Jaycent seem to be happy and in a good place with their relationship... Becca is fully on board now thank goodness. However you have to laugh at Ashlyn and Ryder... they're still at it. I loved the teaser from Selfless. Ashlyn is certainly giving Ryder a run for his money... what's in store?? Can't wait.
I've read everything from this author and loved it all never an ounce of disappointment and as well as the Selfless we have Confession from Seven Deadly Sins to look forward to.. very excited.!
Thank you.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 August 2017I worried that I should of maybe re-read book one, Selfish. I needn't have, as for all it coincides with book one, it isn't really necessary, but advisable to actually read it first. Anyway, waffling over. This book was just as great as Selfish. I loved seeing Jaycent and Becca, develop. Lots of laughter, drama and sexy time, what's not to love?
Really looking forward to book three!

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 September 2017wow yet again i was not disappointed , this series is promising to be brilliant . I found myself feeling sorry for Becca , the things she later found out about people she thought she could trust were heart breaking but on the other hand I know she wanted to protect herself but she really put Jaycent through a lot (poor guy) . Another wonderful book I can't wait for the next one .
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 April 2017Loved it looking forward to the next book in the series hope we don't have to wait too long '
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 May 2017Great book loved this series.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 April 2017This story was beautiful and emotional.
Jaycent and Becca have shown up in selfish as they are best friends of the two lead character.
This book is set alongside the same timeline as selfish so you get to see that story from a different perspective too.
At the start of this book becca is with her ex boyfriend who treats her poorly. Then boom jaycent comes back into her life. This is her first love, a guy she has years of history with.
This book is full of drama and pain. It's filled with anger and angst. This book also brings you second chances and true love.
An alpha male proving his love for a sweetheart girl with all the amazing drama that Shantel writes.
Cannot wait for next book in the series.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 September 2017After the first book ended on a cliff hanger I was desperate to dive straight in to this one a find out what happened! It was nice to see the story from Becca and Jaycents point of view and we got to see how they both struggled to get where they are.
I am now very impatiently waiting for the next instalment to find out whether Ashlyn will forgive Ryder.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 September 2021I tried with this one just so I won't miss Nuthing from the next book . I tried so hard but 20% in, I have to stop. She's so pathetic, her train of thought completely unexplainable. Any sabe woman would not ever found herself in any of those situations. Her resoning- ridiculous. Her thought process- tedious. Complete water of time. Just skip this one to get to Ashley's story

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising Read
I’ll be honest, I was hoping this would be a continuation of where selfish left off; Ashlyn and Ryder captivated me from the start. It was very intriguing to read the story from Becca and Jaycents point of view and to gather insight into their stories. Very excited for the third book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK!!
When I started reading this book I went into it thinking it was the continuation of Ashlyn and Ryder's story from Selfish, because I didn't read the blurb I just bought the book because, well Shantel..
To say I was disappointed to find out it is Becca and Jaycent's story was a correct statement, but that didn't last long.
We got an emotional, sweet, and loving story of a second chance love between 2 people that never thought would end up together.
In Selfish we get the impression that they might have some sort of secret history but don't really know for sure. In Myself we read about that secret history and find out that Becca and Jaycent, despite the age difference and the fact that they grew up together really do have a deep love for one another.
Becca has to overcome guilt from the time that she shared with Jaycent, fear of what her brother would think of his best friend and his sister being together, and a horrible retched mother who did things that normal mothers would never do.
Jaycent shows and proves his love and loyalty to Becca in every way he can. He risks his lifelong relationship with his best friend who is more like a brother to him, to be with the girl that stole his heart years ago and never gave it back. He is patient and sweet and everything you didn't really expect him to be.
It is hard not to fall in love with these 2 characters and their story. I laughed..I cried..I got frustrated..I laughed some more..I cried some more and I fell absolutely in love with Becca and Jaycent as they found their happily ever after.
Once again Shantel did not disappoint. She delivered a 5 star read that I will read and re-read again and again.

4.0 out of 5 stars loved this!!
Book 2 was really good with it focusing on another couple from book 1. Emotional and had me yelling to just TELL THEM!!
I loved how the MMC loves so much, and how the FMC is trying to find her voice.
There could have been more detail in the intimate scenes. There was a lot of, and then the next morning moments. BUT I’m excited to go into book 3.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I felt I was reading a rehash of the first book that I absoutely loved. I would have preferred this book to be part of book 1 "Selfish" with the 2 romances incorporated instead of the padding of the second book
