    This was just awesome. It had me swooning as he two fell in love. Only to be torn apart by his love for her. A father looking out for his daughter and got it wrong. Once they saw each other again they knew they couldn’t be apart. Just loved it.

    Hot Stuff pulls on those heartstrings in the best way. So get ready for this sweet surprise with a whole lot of sexy and a little drama. Lucas and Gillian’s story is a whirlwind romance which turns into something so much more than either of them ever expected. And did I mention Lucas is the starting quarterback for an NFL team? Really, who doesn’t love reading about a hot, cocky jock who gets knocked on his ass by a love he can’t deny?

    Their instant attraction at training camp leads into a romance of convenience with an expiration date. The kicker though? Lucas And Gillian’s relationship has to remain a secret. He’s the star quarterback, she’s the coach’s daughter. It literally screams disaster but these two dive in deep and fast.

    Even with the flaws of continuous unnecessary reminders of how it all would end soon, how they couldn’t keep seeing each other, how they needed to keep feelings out of it. I still found myself swooning and smiling as I flipped those pages like nobody’s business. I soaked up every word, thoroughly loving the humour, the football lingo, the training camp antics and everything about Lucas Carrington, Thor, (how could I forget Thor) and of course our leading lady, Gillian Whitney. Miss Karr had me invested in so many characters in this book that I’m now keen AF for more stories from the Chicago Bears players.

    Hot Stuff was light and humorous but not lacking emotion or depth. It was steamy with a lot of sexy times so be prepared for the heat. Overall, I finished the story with a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. Solid 4 star read.

    It is always a good day when a new Kim Karr story turns up on your kindle.

    Now, I am not a football fan at all (soooo don't understand it!) but I dived right into this one.

    I am not sure if it was my state of mine (I had been sickish for days) or if it was just this one book, however I really struggled to get started with Hot Stuff. Once I got about 30% in I was fine, but I did put this one down a few times and it took me a few days to read it - but this is probably just all me!

    Once I got going, I really enjoyed Lucas and Gillian's story. Hot Stuff is funny, sexy, adorable with a bit of sadness thrown in too.

    It took me a while to connect with both Lucas and Gillian, again this could just be my mind set as I was reading.

    I adored the forbidden, taboo-ness of their relationship - it's nothing bad, but you can understand why it is frowned up. I just wanted them to decide if what they had was going to be enough for them.

    And to find out, you have to read for yourself.

    Whilst I did like Hot Stuff, I just didn't love it like I have with other books of Ms Karr. It was a case of it's not you, it's me with this one.

    I look forward to seeing what Ms Karr brings us next.

    I love a sports romance, I'm not sure what the dynamics are, but I'm quick to pick one up. It could be the fit bodies, or the dedication to their craft that keeps me hooked. One of the things that appealed to me about this novel was the in depth background on the NFL. I felt that made it more authentic and that I was a part of the team.

    This is told in dual POV and there isn't much in the way of secondary characters, what there is, I liked. This meant the main characters had the bulk to carry and at times I was bored. I got that the relationship was taboo, off limits, unauthorized, forbidden, disallowed, not approved - it got tiresome to keep being reminded and it just bogged down the tale by being repetitive. That being said, I did enjoy the overall story. I thought Lucas Carrington was a very lovable character and grew up fast once he was in camp. Football might have been his out from a bad childhood, but it was also his love and life. Until he meets Gillian Whitney, the intern and the coaches daughter. She lives and breathes football as well, has grown up following her dad around. What starts out as infatuation, quickly turns into something precious and it will take some understanding and forgiveness to get to their HEA.

    Kim Karr never fails to entertain her readers and this book is very entertaining.

    Lucas Carrington is a new football superstar to be..or so he hopes! Not wanting to stay in Chicago with the Bears he is disappointed when offered a position. Gillian is the head coaches daughter and nearly fully qualified athletic trainer. Completing her internship with the Chicago Bears, during their training camp, she meets Lucas..head on..literally!

    I enjoyed the way the lead characters, Gillian and Lucas, look at and spoke about themselves with honestly. This definitely gave the story a real life quality. I also learnt quite a bit about American football, the training and things associated with preparation for a full on footy season, boy is it tough going!

    The story I felt was a little bit slow in places but the pace picks up. Some good humour in both the banter between characters and with themselves. For example after Lucas misses what the head coach has said but agrees anyway..he thinks.."For all I knew I could have just told him I wore girl’s underwear out on the field." 😂

    Great chemistry between lead characters leads to a very sexy and hot relationship. Although the intimacy is through the roof it's a real romance at heart that leaves you feeling great.

    I loved this book. It's very well written, has great characters and is a beautiful love story.
    Lucas is a Quarter Back and hoping to make it big and move away. His plans go awry and he remains in Chicago. This brings him in contact with Gillian, an athletic intern. And coach's daughter, so forbidden territory. But somehow that doesn't seem to matter as their attraction to one another is so strong.
    This is a lovely story of trying to do the right thing and finding that the right thing isn't always the right thing!
    I don't know that much about American Football so I wasn't sure if this would be a difficult read, as it turns out my fears were groundless.

    Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly love another Kim Karr book more than all the others, well let’s just say, thought died.     Lucas Carrington’s dream of playing football in the pros is now upon him. Back to reality… football is his life and being the coach’s golden egg, he is focused to keep it that way…EAT, SLEEP, BREATH football. He has something to prove and it had to be done the moment he stepped foot at the NFL training camp. Focus on football…that is until Gillian, the sports trainer intern, walked on the field. There is not too much forbidden love. It is the perfect mix and is a beautiful love story about two people who belong together and desperately desire to make it work. It is a fun, funny, sexy, steamy, emotional (yes, you will shed some tears) and at times frustrating but it is so worth your time!!! In typical Kim Karr fashion, the story is flawlessly written with well- developed characters, as well as intriguing backstories. A FIVE STAR read for sure!!!

    Lucas Carrington’s life is all about football. Going all the way to the NFL has been his dream for a long time and what he’s been working for all along. Now he finds himself drafted into the one team he despised, in the city he wanted to leave behind and with the hots for the head coach’s daughter. This is definitely NOT the life he expected when reaching for the biggest goal of his life.
    Gillian Whitney is determined to enjoy her last summer as an athletic intern with her father’s team before she gets her doctorate and goes after the normal life he’s always wanted for her, but then she met the new quarterback by way of injury. He’s too full of himself, but so handsome it drives her to distraction and things will just go wrong.
    Lucas and Gillian are instantly attracted to each other, sparks are flying like a 4th of July firework display and, though they both know a relationship is off-limits and the cons are way more than the pros, there is no stopping the lust train and they are going for the ride of their lives!
    I really enjoyed this book. Despite the fact that I’m not football savvy, I could follow the way it’s written and all the references to the sport and I could understand how these couple lives and breathes the sport. Then, there’s their personalities, the relationship they develop and how their feelings grow and evolve.
    The story is well written and flows effortlessly. I liked the characters, their interaction and backstories, knowing how these two were shaped into the people they are and what drives them as well as the secondary characters who somehow affect the decisions they make.
    In my book, Lucas and a Gillian are a couple one should not miss.

    With all the controversy today in professional football it was a pure delight to read Hot Stuff by Kim Karr. This novel was a reminder of why fans love this sport. It showcased a young athlete's hopes and dreams of making it in the professional league. What made it even better was not only witnessing this young man make his professional dreams come true but also falling in love at the same time.

    Luca Carrington was a first round draft pick for the Chicago Bears. It was the one team he didn't want to be a part of. He wanted to get as far as possible from Chicago and the negative memories of his childhood. After being put in his place by the head coach he's had an attitude adjustment. Training camp is the real test, the make it or break it test that will determine whether he is cut out to become a professional football player. Lucas Carrington is all in, ready to prove his worth as a starter quarterback and a team player. Through Gillian we got to see how the athletes remain well oiled machines. Through Gillian's father readers got to see how a coach executes plays while dealing with the business side of professional sports. The best part was experiencing two people finding a love that was worth fighting for. Hot Stuff by Kim Karr is a winner!

    I didn't connect as well with these characters as I did with the ones in the previous books, but they weren't any less likable. I think because I'm not huge football fan, there was a disconnect...But it was my issue. Fav part was when Gillian finally convinced her Dad she was just like him. Swoon!!
