    Lorali Bennett is a reporter for a Denver paper in the Lifestyle section after a move up from the obituary section. The lifestyle social reporter goes to all the charity events and high society things. So starts her social whirl. She is a beautiful woman who had a rough time after her boyfriend got arrested for selling drugs. She dumped him and is not looing for a man even years after high school and college. Ian Hale is is a billionaire that is too good too good lookig for his own good. He never sleeps with a woman more than once and is tired and bored with women who only want him for his social standing or his bank ballance. He is an all around good guy but doesn't spend time with many women or let them get to know him.
    This storylin is lke a lot of stories, but that is where the similarities end. This book is happy, and funny with Lorali not wanting to give Ian the time of day, and him having to really work at getting Lorali to notice him. Something that has never happened to him in his life, which makes him all the more interested in her. There were some really funny laugh out loud moments in this book, not to mention lots of really hot sex after Lorali and Ian got to know each other a little bit.
    This book was well written and the characters were well defined and had lots of back ground with each other. I was surprised when I learned this was the authors first book. I've read books of authors with alot more books under their belts that weren't near as detailed, or the storyline near as put together, that really takes a lot of thought to get the characters and the story to flow so smoothly! This book was just a joy to sit down and read and immerse yourself into the story. The characters talked to each other like friends do and you could really see them having all the laughs and all the things going on in their lives that went on in this book. I have already bought the next book in the series and can't wait to dig into it. I believe this author is one to keep your eye on and that she is going to write many good books.

    I haven't read a book from this author yet and it was recommended to me. Well, I liked reading it. Great loving story with a good background. Still felt like something was missing, so gave it 4 stars but I liked the characters. It's definitely worth the read and I will read the next one in this series :-)

    This book had me hooked from the beginning! James has created a host of lovable, complex characters that you can't help but love. I fell hard and fast for the dirty talking yet romantic Ian.
    When Ian and Loreli literally ran into each other I knew their story would be good. What I didn't expect was it to grab ahold of me and not let go until the end. I read this book in sitting and was sad to see it end. I will be reading the next in this series immediately! I am absolutely hooked!!

    After seeing a lot of positive feedback for this debut novel, I couldn’t help but one-click this bad boy. There were some really great scenes in this book that gave me confidence that Marie James is coming into her own as a writer and I will definitely be looking out for her in the future. One scene in particular was fabulously done and very well imagined and still has me hot and bothered weeks after reading it (see the seduction in the art gallery…holy smokes!).

    There were some things that needed improvement to make the story stand out from the rest. The formality of the writing really hampered the flow of the story making it clunky at times. There were a handful of editing issues where words were missing and wrong words were used in inappropriate contexts, which always puts a wrench in my enjoyment because they make me stop and want to whip out a red pen to make corrections.

    The characters’ personalities and development needed some work. I found Lorali’s strong opinions on the stereotypical behaviors of a billionaire were off putting. She doesn’t even give him a chance and her lack of self esteem in his presence is never backed up by past experiences. With a little more backstory to explain her opinions and attitude, she would have been a more likable character. The plot also sadly fell a little flat for me. It was pretty anticlimactic and Lorali’s behavior was very cringe worthy in my opinion.

    The thing that the author really nailed, however, was the chemistry between Ian and Lorali. Their attraction was electric and their sex was “fan yourself while reading” hot. Though I could have done without the use of the word c*nt, who am I to say what Lorali’s character finds as appropriate dirty talk verbiage.

    Overall I’d say this book wasn’t bad. There is definitely room for improvement, but the bones of the story were there. I definitely found myself quickly turning pages to find out what happens next, which is always a great sign when reading a book let alone a debut novel.

    This was a great billionaire romance! Ian and Lorali had such good chemistry. There needs to be more men like Ian. He fell head over heels for Lorali, and spoiled her in multiple ways. The only thing I would have changed would have been more background stories. I'm not saying there was too much Ian / Lorali time, I just think there could have been more involvement of other characters, like how Lorali was a reporter. I thought there would have been more involvement of that. Maybe some drama long with it. There were a lot of steamy scenes, and they were written really well! Definitely didn't leave out any of the dirty details! This was the start of what I'm sure is a great series that I look forward to reading more of!
