Dust to Dust is a story about two friends, about two lovers, about how strong love sometimes is.

Camryn Hamilton and Holden Patrick had been best friends since childhood. She comes from a loving family while he'd been in foster care the first years of his life. He had suffered abuse and the demons from the past make it hard for him to really trust people. Camryn seems to be the only one who can reach him. They spend almost every moment together which makes it almost unavoidable for them to take the relationship one step further when they're all grown up. But one year, in high school, something happens to Camryn and she shuts everyone out. Including Holden.

The relationship falters and eventually they break up even though they're so much in love with each other.

Holden goes away to pursue his career as a lawyer when his adoptive parents pass away and Camryn finds someone else.

Years go by and now Camryn is married and a mother of two wonderful girls. She still keeps a secret and has never forgotten her best friend even if they're barely talking to each other.

Everything seems to be fine until one Christmas Eve, when Camryn's perfectly built life comes crashing down on her.

The man she thought she knew doesn't want her anymore and that is only the beginning of her problems.

To make things even more complicated, Holden is back in town and he is determined to stay and to win her trust and her affection again.

Let me tell you that I've never seen a person more unlucky than Camryn. She gets one blow after the other all the time, trying to make the right thing for her daughters. Especially now, when they need her to be stable and show them she's okay more than ever.

I really liked Holden. Yes, he made mistakes and left when he should have stayed but he's there when Camryn needs him and he's great with her girls.

It's nice to see how their friendship survived through the years, even if life hasn't been kind. More important, Holden will be there when someone from the past threatens Camryn's and her family's life.

It is a good book but I think the author stretched it too much in certain places with useless details. The writing style is good.

It is the first book I've read written by S.P. Cervantes but I'll pick up more.

Definitely worth reading!

This is the first book in S.P. Cervantes Broken Fairy Tale series, and without a doubt it completely encompasses what happens when you believe you've found your fairy tale happily ever after and then without warning everything goes horribly wrong! Camryn and Holden were childhood friends who's love for one another grew from friendship to romance. They were the perfect couple, always bringing out the best in one another while only ever having eyes for each other. These two always knew in their hearts they would spend their entire lives together. But one night something unimaginable happens to Camryn, something which rattles her to the core, so much so it changes everything about her. Lost and withdrawn while trying to deal with new demons she inadvertently pushes Holden further and further away. Before they know what's happened their lives take on two new, two very different directions.

Years later their paths once again cross and it's clear their feelings for one another are just as intense as ever before, but with a husband, children, a crumbling marriage and the same demons still lurking will Camryn and Holden be able to find their way back to one another and claim that perfect happily ever after or will they always just remain life long friends?

I loved the journey of watching two people who were so clearly meant to be together handle life, make the most of life, live as best as they could when life handed them lemons. These two should have never given up one another, but they lost themselves and in turn lost each other, so I have to say I loved how S.P. Cervantes gave them each a new reality, a new norm to make the best of while still providing very real opportunities and obstacles to lead them back down the road to one another. It was a beautiful, emotional journey filled with courage, strength and true character. These two were respectful of their current situations, they acted with integrity, it wasn't all just action based on emotion. It was so much more.

What I found myself frustrated with at times however was Camryn. While I understood her inner struggles and demons it's as though she could never find her confidence, as though she didn't have any motivation to fight for herself. I understood where the self depreciation was coming from but I had a hard time that it continued throughout most of the book, it took pretty much the entire journey for her to find herself, and choose to be herself, to fight for her HEA much less think she even deserved one. Sometimes she would take two steps forward and then three steps back, but at the end when she finally took those 5 steps forward I rejoiced and loved every minute of the ending!

What surprised me most with this story was the element of mystery surrounding the details and events of the unexpected night which changed both their lives. Ever so often new details would be revealed but only enough to keep me hanging on until the next piece was revealed. I have to say when the tangles were all unraveled I never saw all the details coming. It truly caught me by surprise, and I always love when this happens! For only $1.99 Dust to Dust is a great deal and I recommend you dive into this story and fall in love with Camryn and Holden.

This is my first Cervantes book and I was enthralled with it. The writing is superb; the story is very well thought out – it kept me interested through the whole book.

Cam and Holden were best friends for a long time then that friendship turned into more. While inseparable on most occasions the one time they’re not together tragedy strikes. Cam begins to push everyone away including her best friend. He leaves for college, she meets and falls for Marcus who loves her and over looks her standoffishness; he marries her and gives her two amazing children. Yet slowly their marriage begins to crumble, she realizes he’s cheating and she also realizes she may not have been fully in attendance for her marriage, but she tries to hold on for the sake of her babies but Marcus hands her divorce papers and asks her to sign them on Thanksgiving Day.

After Holden moves back home to salvage his childhood home he and Cam reignite their friendship and old feelings start to arise for Cam but she doesn’t act on them. Holden is always there for Cam, no matter what’s going on. He left her all those years ago because he thought that was what she needed. She needed better than him. But Holden is full on alpha male, he’s gorgeous, and oh sweet Jesus, does he love her. He loves her beyond measure and when that marriage falls apart he’s there to be her friend and to help her pick up the pieces. Slowly they become more and once she confides to him what happened to her all those years ago he’s there to protect and take care of her and her girls. He loves all of them so much and it’s so sweet to watch them all together.

This couple has to overcome so many obstacles; mistrust, a hurricane, an accident caused by tampered with brakes, an ex-husband, an ex-girlfriend, and a crazy mother of a friend. It’s a lot to overcome. It’s going to take a lot of trust, love, and hard work. Can they get back what they felt all those years ago? Are they able to withstand all the tragedy and turmoil that comes their way?

Reading this was almost like reading Cam’s journal. It was so life like and I could feel everything each of the characters felt. It was so tangible. I absolutely loved it. I will definitely be reading more books by this fantastic author.

I love second chance romances. I enjoy seeing people come back together after years of separation for one reason or another and making things work the way that they should. However, in some romances that comes at the expense of a third person and that is a part of this story as well. After suffering a horrific incident Cam decides that to be safe and secure with someone that she doesn't fully love is better than risking what could happen if she pursued what she passionately held in her heart. Although I empathize with Cam and understand why she made the choices that she made, I am glad that her husband Marcus recognizes that he deserves more than what Cam is capable of giving him. Sometimes even the good guys have to think of what's best for themselves. Unfortunately, in this case there are also innocent children affected. The result of her husband leaving is a catalyst for Cam having to face and make some hard choices.

Holden is Cam's regret and desire, but she has to decide if she can overcome her fears and painful past so that she can have a happy future. Cam makes some questionable decisions along the way and there are circumstances that definitely left me a bit uncomfortable. The story is well written and I felt that I got to run the whole gamut of emotions with Cam and Holden. This was a well done contemporary romance.

It's when I read a book like this I thank the stars that I sign up for blog tours. I've never heard of this author or this book. Looking at good reads either have my friends. Well that certainly needs to change as this is a brilliant book.
I absolutely loved this book. Camryn and Holden were next door neighbours and best friends. That's until something really horrible happens to her. She then puts walls around her heart so she doesn't get hurt again and also to protect her family. The air of mystery had me gripped to this book.
Holden is a really hot strong delicious male. I could feel the raw love he had for Camryn.

This author had me glued to this book. I ended up sitting and reading this in one sitting.

So truth be told, I am a sucker for fairy tales, happily ever afters and most especially second chance love stories. S.P Cervantes is a new author to me and when a fellow blogger asked me to read Dust to Dust, I find it hard to ever really say no. :) The prologue is completely enchanting and mesmerizing and I couldn't wait to dive right into this book.

Camryn and Holden grew up together as next door neighbors, best friends and eventually dated as young adults. Both characters so close to each other starting a relationship that is the stuff that fairy tales are made of put a huge smile on my face. Until one day, Camryn suffers the unimaginable and their relationship is severed, both characters living separate lives.

Life moves forward and as the synopsis states, Camryn's life is idyllic and perfect until everything crumbles for her and she is faced with her tough past, a broken marriage, a man she once loved and a chance for fate to intervene and make her life right and whole again.

I have to say that I enjoyed the progression of this book and all of the intricate details that the author provided; fully developing each character so that we would completely understand each one, know them and fall in love with them. I understood her husband's choices because living a life without love would feel so empty. I completely loved Holden - his patience, his drive and his heart of gold. I also truly enjoyed the mystery aspect of this story completely sucking me in with all of its twists and turns and unexpected surprises. It definitely kept me on my toes.

So what made it a 3.5 star for me was that I thought there were some missed opportunities...At points in the story, I felt that the author was telling me the story vs. showing me. I am a huge dialogue junkie and there were times that I wished for some of those missed conversations between the characters rather than the author telling me what happened (hopefully this makes sense!). A lot of these details were glossed over and I would have enjoyed seeing how these scenes would have played out as I feel that it would have been a more compete read for me.

So yes, I would definitely read this author again and look forward to the next book in this series...Dust to Dust was an enjoyable experience and I recommend it to anyone who, like me, enjoys a well written second chance love story! <3

Dust to Dust. This book. Wow just Wow!!! This book blew me away. It was not what I was expecting at all. It was so much more!! Dust to Dust has a little bit of everything. Drama, mystery, secrets, attempted murder, first loves, divorce, cheating, death, and the list can go on and on.

The story centers around Cam. She had one great true love of her life in Holden. She loved his since they were little kids. Then something really tragic happens. Can does not deal with it well and it ruins her relationship with Holden. After trying to save their relationship, he let's it go and moves away. Life goes on and Cam marries someone else. He is defiantly not the love of her life. Because Cam cant seem to let anyone in, she marries a safe guy and has two girls with him. One holiday, Cam's husband decides he wants to end their marriage. He lets Cam know in the middle of a family party. Cam knows the reason is because he has a girlfriend on the side. Although she doesn't want to admit it, she is not surprised by the whole thing. Enter Holden. He has moved back home just in time to be Cam's knight in shining armor. He is the best friend she needs to help her in any way he can.

I knew right away that the only true love for Cam would ever be Holden. Even with all the time and things that have past, their love for each other has always been there. Holden moves back home, he love Cam's girls like his own, he wants to be everything to Cam. He is a special guy. A one in a million. Holden does whatever it takes to break down Cam's walls that she has built around her heart. He wants to be with her so bad, he is willing to move at a snail's pace to be with her again.

There is so many different obstacles (crazy ones at that) that are thrown at the couple. I mean complete curve balls. Holden takes every singe one in stride. He knows that Cam is his true, forever love. He has never gotten married or engaged to anyone else. As the book progresses he starts to figure out why Cam pushed him out of her life. It is such a heartbreaking story. The while time I was so emotional. This is a beautiful love story about two people who were made to be together.

**side note** I just saw this is Book one is a series. That made my day. I actually squealed a little!!

This is the first book in the Broken Fairy Tale Series and my first book by S.P. Cervantes. S.P. is a new author for me and I will definitely be on the lookout for more books by this amazing author! I started this book and by the first chapter I was hooked! Camryn Hamilton’s worst fear has come true. After a sudden separation and divorce from her husband and the reappearance of her teenage love, Camryn is left to pick up the pieces of her life.
Holden Patrick knows all about loss. After losing his adoptive parents and fleeing town years ago, Holden returns to Mantoloking to try and rebuild his life. Holden has never stopped loving Camryn, but with her life in disarray, he settles for being her friend and helping her and her two adorable daughters as they transition into a life without Camryn’s ex-husband. These two people are known to fight for what they want, but when life keeps getting in the way of their relationship, will they be able to keep the fight up?
I truly loved this story! I loved the bond between Camryn and Holden, plus their old high school friends! Reading about this couple brought out so many emotions for me. I was saddened by the way Camryn’s ex leaves her and the effect it has on her daughters, but overjoyed by how steadfast Holden was. Holden had incredible patience with Camryn because even when they make a plan to work on their relationship life keeps throwing them curve balls.
The reason this was not a 5 star read for me was because I hoped to get more information about Camryn and her relationship with her ex pre and post-divorce. Co-parenting can be hard and I wanted a little more information about how they handled it. I also hoped to get a little more from Holden’s point of view. I wanted to get into his head more. These things do NOT detract from the story in the least, but I was hoping for a bit more.
I would definitely recommend this book and author to my book loving friends!

If faced with your worst fear, what would you do? Would you run or would you fight?

Well this was a crazy…mysterious…didn’t know what was going to happen kind of book.
This book was pretty good!! It is about a girl named Camryn.
She is a thirty-something mother of two, Camryn appears to have it all: a husband, plenty of money, and children she adores. When she returns home to spend Christmas with her family, her perfect world she has created begins to crumble, thrusting her face to face with the only man who truly knows her.

She has a best friend-Holden-they were inseparable since the second grade. Holden transitions into her boyfriend by the end of her sophomore year in high school.

They dated for a while and then in the summer of her senior year her whole life was shattered. She wouldn’t let her best friend/boyfriend-Holden in so he could try to make everything all better. So they grow apart, they both go there separate ways..she gets married, he moves on.
Holden is a powerful, handsome attorney, Holden left town after his adoptive parents’ death. In his time away he almost managed to forget the girl who ran away with his heart. At least until a turn of fate brought him back to Mantoloking, and back to Camryn.
But are they willing to fight for each other?

Soo..see doesn’t this book intrigue you? There is all kinds of drama, excitement and mystery that comes with this book. I really did enjoy reading it!! :) You will enjoy reading about the leading characters and she has a pretty funny BFF too…lol This was my first book from this Author, I really liked her writing style and I really look forward to reading more from her!!
I gave this book 4 Smooches!!

DUST TO DUST: A BROKEN FAIRY TALE BY S.P. CERVANTES

Camryn Hamilton and Holden Patrick have been best friends and neighbors since they were little kids. After sharing a magical kiss, they both realized their friendship had been elevated to the next level.

“ ‘I guess this changes things for us,’ he had said quietly as he pressed his forehead against mine with his eyes looking up at me through his long, dark eyelashes.
‘I guess it does,’ I answered, knowing I didn’t need to say anything more.”

Thus began a relationship that all felt was unbreakable…. Until one night when Camryn’s idyllic life was shattered.

The story unfolds over a series of time, which I loved. I prefer when relationships build in books and don’t become instant overnight. A real relationship takes work, and S.P. Cervantes recognized that and allows the story unfold slowly and organically. Dust to Dust was not without its mysteries and plot twists. It all came together well and you felt as if you were along on this ride with Cam and Holden. I am a sucker for second-chance love stories and this one delivered!

“We were both broken Camryn, and I know that scares you. But we can still have the fairy tale.”

Dust to Dust is an emotional story of two young friends and one forever kind of love.

Camryn and Holden are young lovers who let devastating circumstances get in the way of their fairytale ending. But not all fairytales have to be the same, some can be broken. Some just need to be rewritten with the right cast of characters and those emotional bonds that cannot be broken.

I really enjoyed reading this story because it was an unexpected love story. Life did not go as planned for these two and they had to overcome many obstacles to bring their relationship back together. Are these obstacles too large for them to overcome? Can some dark places in their past come back to hurt them and keep them apart forever? Will the secrets kept many years ago be revealed and will mysteries be solved in time to assure their happily ever after? A must read to find out.

I am not a runner but if I ran anywhere I would love a finish line just like the one in this story....*smiles You'll see.

Personally it was nice to read a relatable story in that I am from the Jersey shore and know the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Although, it does not play a huge part in this story , it was nice to see a familiar place.

This book peaked my interest from the very beginning. I immediately liked the characters and I was surprised when they didn’t get together right away. I was a little surprised by the way Cervantes let a lot of time pass between chapters. I haven’t read a whole lot of books like that and Cervantes really made it work. Dust to Dust was very well written and, although it was a little slow at times, I enjoyed this book. Great love story + added suspense. I would definitely read more from this author!

I was a little confused by the end. The motive behind everything that happened could have been explained a little better. I was left a very confused as to what exactly had happened. It would have been nice to have shown Cam and her dad talking about what happened so the readers could figure out what the truth was. Jakes actions still confuse me. I’m not sure why he did what he did to Cam… like what it was supposed to accomplish. If you’ve already read the book and can explain it to me, please do!

Camryn Hamilton and Holden Patrick have been best friends since they were kids. They dated in high school but when Holden went off to college something terrible happened to Camryn. The only way she could cope was to emotionally shut down and push Holden away. Years later Camryn is now married with two wonderful kids. She married her college boyfriend because he was safe and good for her, but Camryn's heart still remains locked behind a wall. With her marriage now crumbling all she can do is watch knowing she pushed yet another man away. Separating from her husband, Camryn moves home only to find her next door neighbor, Holden, has moved back to town as well. Their intense attraction to each other has never waivered even after all these years. But can Holden break down the walls and help Camryn heal her shattered heart?

We went into this story thinking it was an actual fairy tale re-telling, instead we got a beautiful contemporary romance that captured us. This emotional story took us on a journey through love, heartbreak, deception, with a dash of danger.
We give it 4.5 sighs.

Ahhh...a second chance romance. I am a HUGE sucker for the second chancers. Dust to Dust was great!

This is the story of Camryn and Holden. They were best friends friends as children, then became each others first loves. Then, tragedy strikes Cam and she is never the same. She shuts down emotionally and even shuts out Holden. They grown apart and eventually break up.

Life moves on, Camryn gets married, has two children, and is on the brink of divorce. Holden returns to their hometown and to Cam's life as beat friend. That is until the divorce is final and then all bets are off.

This story was plain fun to read. The characters were great. The dialogue natural and at times witty. And the story just flowed really well. While I REALLY enjoyed how light this story mostly was, the author does hit on your emotions. Remember, something tragic happened to Cam and when those ghosts make themselves know, you definitely feel it. I shed a few tears for sure. However, this story left me with a feeling of hope for the characters and a lightness in my heart.

Dust to Dust by S.P. Cervantes is the first book in her Broken Fairy Tale series. It is also an emotional roller-coaster ride from happy to hell and back again. The twists and turns it takes along the way will leave you jaw-dropped and angst-filled. A story of second chances and true loves and the steadfast love of a hot alpha male is something almost any woman would want. Holden can boss me around any day! This book will make you feel for your characters, feel a little uncomfortable, and feel as if you just got off the afore-mentioned roller-coaster. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

This book was sweet. Probably too sweet. The plot twist wasn't surprising but still overly dramatic for my taste. I was really set on giving 3 stars. I liked it but it wasn't something I was going to remember. Then I read the ending. OMG that is going to be something I will remember forever. I loved it. Gave the book an extra star. Holden is so damn romantical and what not. Got me making up words. I smiled the whole way through. The prologue, the ending, and the fourth are probably the strongest parts in this book.

Camryn and her childhood love Holden have a second chance at romance. Even with a haunting past and crazy present they make it happen. The book had a good story line, a lot was packed into it. Great characters, you are given enough information on most of them to feel as if you know them. The only part I wasn't a big fan of was hearing the same songs mentioned throughout the book. Between hearing about Roar and Safe and Sound I don't want to hear them for a very long time! Overall great read about romance and over coming the past.

So, I took my time before I started this book. I've been holding on for about 2 months. I have no idea why I waited. I really don't. It was a great story! It showed how timeless love is and how deep secrets can cut. I cried more than once. I could feel the pain the characters went though. So well written. I love that it showed that sometimes it is not a direct path to happiness. But it is the struggles that we deal with that make the happiness that much more enjoyable.

What a fantastic read!! The storyline was amazing with many twists and turns that kept me hooked from beginning to end. The characters had depth and so many emotions that helped me feel an instant connection to them. This story tugged at my heartstrings with all the ups and downs that Camryn went through to finally find her happily ever after!! Great job!!

Overall a really good book. Cam got on my nerves from time to time with her constant second guessing, but at least it didn't last long. I wish the love scenes would've been a little hotter & I definitely think there needed to be an epilogue clearing up all the loose ends. There were a lot of questions that were left unanswered.

I really enjoyed this book. The story flowed really well and there were plenty of twists and turns to keep me turning the pages. The characters were well thought out and the love story between the two main characters was really well done. There is no cliffhanger and a HEA so all in all defintely a 5 star in my opinion. Dust to Dust was a great debut into the contemporary romance genre for Cervantes. It's sexy, sweet and I adore the friend to lovers trope. Camryn and Holden were a great couple! If you're looking for a solid romance, check this one out.

What an amazing book! It's been awhile since I've liked all the characters in a book. Camryn and Holden were so sweet together, I'm so glad they got the fairy tale. Even Marcus redeemed himself in the end. This is a solid 5 star read. I can't wait to read more by this author.

I thought this was a great story. It's every little girl and woman's dream of the fairy tale. The knight that will always be there. I think it flowed smoothly, though I would have loved to have Holdens POV.

5 stars is an understatement! This book is an emotional rollercoaster that left me nauseated in the best way possible & with one hell of a hangover. One of my top reads thus far of 2014. I just don't even know where to begin *happy sigh* You won't be disappointed!

I was like Atlas carrying their issues like the world. It was heavy but not emotional. It was dramatic but not poignant. There were too much but showed less.
