The Broken Puppet (The Elite Kings Club Book 2) Kindle Edition
The Silver Swan
- 1. A girl who is tarnished. Tainted. One who does not fit into the confinement of legend.
The Silver Swan
-2. Madison Montgomery.
I was lied to.
I was cheated.
Resigned to pick up the scraps of empty memories and disarrayed thoughts, I left. After finally cutting the strings of manipulation, I resorted to do what I’ve done since I was a child, something my father drilled into my brain since I could handle my first rifle.
Run.
I’m a mere shadow of the girl they all knew.
Lies and deceit change you. They alter your entire outlook on life.
I’m Madison Montgomery, and I want to play a game.
Here’s what happens when I win.
Riddle me this, Mads.
What goes bump in the night,
but is something you can’t see with sight?
You may run, and you may hide.
If by happily ever after, you mean Bonnie & Clyde.

- Reviewed in Australia on 18 July 2017The Broken Puppet - (The Elite Kings Club #2)- Amo Jones
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Caught in a web of lies, secrecy and deceit, Maddison continues to uncover meaning in the mysteries that surround her and of her role in the Elite Kings game.
Maddison's life is at stake and being the pawn in this twisted game might be her undoing and for each question answered their are many new ones to be asked.
The Elite Kings continue to intrigue me, each growing in personality but Bishop and the boys take you down into their world which only seems to get darker and a little more twisted.
Amo Jones just captivates the reader with the depths of detail she goes into in order to suck the reader into the spiral of this story. Her characters are incredibly complex and yet overtly simple in their needs. They are creatures of their unique circumstance and birth right.
Can't wait to read the next book...... soon I hope!!!!
- Reviewed in Australia on 24 September 2022Verified PurchaseWhere to start, the twist and turns in this second book are so mind-blowing, it’s like the mystery to carry on reading to find the connecting dots.if you like jigsaw puzzles then this is for you.Because you’ll want to get to the end. I don’t like to give too much away in a book. Please heed to any trigger warnings, as this book is dark.
- Reviewed in Australia on 19 July 2017Verified PurchaseWow what a prologue! The action starts with the first words!
Book 2 continues where book 1 left off, literally, and we see Madison and Tatum on the run. But have they escaped the clutches of the Elite Kings, especially Bishop?
Amo Jones has done it again, written another fabulous story in this series. She never disappoints but always provides intriguing storylines and characters. Small details in descriptions aid in the clarity of the reader's visuals as they progress through the story, and like book one it is a very visual story. Questions are answered but then more arise! 😉 The twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat, just when you think you might be getting a handle on some things..bam..there's a twist in the plot!
This is one of the most brilliant series I have ever read!
- Reviewed in Australia on 16 February 2022Verified PurchaseOk, so I'm not going on with this series. I didn't hate this book but some things drove me a little crazy. The thing about the book. Everyone keeps telling Madi to read the book but she only reads a chapter. Then she continuely asking questions, when it seems most of what she wants to know is in the book. This is repeated quite a bit through the book. Also the threat of her being killed, that keeps going on. I don't feel there is any connection with her or Bishop and I think they are the reasons why i don't feel like contining on with the series.
- Reviewed in Australia on 18 July 2017Verified PurchaseI voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it.
Oh. My. God. What did I just read? Seriously, I have no idea! I love this book, even though I want to hate it because it raised more questions than it answered. And my god, the stuff that happens! Strap yourselves in and go for a ride 'cause it's one for sure!
There is so much happening in this book and I'm still not entirely sure I caught all of it, all I know is Bishop is incredible and Maddy is bad arse!
I would definitely recommend rereading The Silver Swan before reading this so everything is fresh, but again, run, don't walk to get this book! The next one can't come soon enough!

- Reviewed in Australia on 10 August 2017Verified PurchaseEek! First of all I'm super proud of this author bcos not only is she from NZ like me, but this series freaking rocks! Oooh I must say... Bishop is an a$$. He seriously sucks he's one of those characters you hate to love. He totally makes the series lol.
Nate is awesome. Ultimate bad boy and the forbidden aspect to Madison relationship with Nate is exciting and angsty, will they or won't they lol. Brantley and Daemon... heartbreak city 😞 Hunter and Jase??? PLOT TWIST!!! 😂😂😂
I seriously can't wait to read the next book. This series is playing with my emotions 👍 Super enjoying this series. Thanks Amo Jones this series has me hooked and I'll be reading the rest of your books 😁

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT.
Verified PurchaseAfter "The Silver Swan", this was everything I needed, and more, and leaves me still wanting more.
The secrets, the twists, the spice, the complicated relationships... ugh I was IN IT with this book.
I felt so much more connected to Madison, and really started to feel invested in the MMCs... and the plot, tho a bit chaotic with all the moving parts, had me so hooked I couldn't put this one down. I HAD to keep reading to find out more.. and now once again, I can not wait to throw myself into the next one!

4.0 out of 5 stars What a mystery ;-)
Verified PurchaseI'm still figuring out how to write this review. Since there is so much mystery in Amo's books, I can't let a single plot detail slip. So, without giving out spoilers, I just wanted to say that this book blew my mind and the cliffhanger has only left me wanting for more. The suspence was thrilling and the story is so cleverly plotted. Now that we get some answers in this book, it leads to so many new questions.
I loved Madison's character, now that I read more about her, I really liked her strength. She is really brave and the way she handled all the truths of her life that were thrown her way was remarkable. Bishop was an enigma, I am really intrigued by his character.
I really loved Nate & Brantley (they are apparently having their own books) but I was really annoyed with Tate, I have a feeling that I'm not going to like her much in the next books. All the other side characters were significant in some way or the other, but I loved Nate the most!
Obviously based on the cliffhanger, we will get to know more about his past, and I'm so eager to read the next book.
That's all I can say about this ;-p

5.0 out of 5 stars All Consuming!
Verified Purchase"Fear is your patch, babe. We all have our patches. Those little spaces that could bring us to our knees if dabbled with."
I'm just going to get this out of the way. It took me days to stew over this book and decide what I was going to say and how I would rate it. I'm so glad that I took the time to do that because honestly it became a slow burn that finally brought me to the point I am at now. I'll explain more about it shortly.
Let's just take a moment to take in the beauty that is this cover. I've been obsessed with it since Amo dropped the cover reveal. It's dark and a bit haunting and it speaks to my soul. Not sure what that means about me but I'll go with it.
Before we go any further, if you have not read The Silver Swan, then you need to do that first. This book can not be read first. While I will do the best I can to keep this spoiler free, I'm just throwing it out there that there could a chance of letting something slip.
In The Broken Puppet, we start to get some of the answers that we have been seeking in regards to The Elite Club but with those answers comes on a slew of new questions. I ended this book with more questions than answered because of all the twists and the integrated parts that everyone played.
I will admit that there were some times that I was completely frustrated. I felt like Madison could have gotten some answers a lot faster if she would have just done what a few people kept telling her. However, I also get that by her not doing that, it allowed for more of the suspense that was lurking around.
I get so confused sometimes because for the most part, I don't even see Bishop and Madison for as young as they are until we get a glimpse of them at school or we start to see a bit of the childish behavior. Most of the time, I felt like Bishop was much older and just has this striking and captivating essence about him. He's completely dark but we can start to see that Madison is getting to him. I feel like they are so much older until I get those few glimpses that remind me otherwise.
While I felt like there wasn't as must intensity in this book, it certainly still consumed me. I think the reason I say that is because there is so much time spent answering questions from the first book that it felt a bit more informational than dramatic. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, it was absolutely filled with drama and suspense, it just had a bit different of a tone then the first book. That's why I ended up with the slow burn and having to take a couple of days to digest it all.
Overall, I loved this book and I love this series. Now we are left waiting to get all the answers to everything that Amo Jones threw at us in the book. I can't wait to see how it all plays out. You don't want to miss out on this series, trust me.

5.0 out of 5 stars That you could ya know just PM any time you liked? Especially after reading their book
Verified PurchaseYou ever read a book and wished that you really knew the author? That you could ya know just PM any time you liked? Especially after reading their book? Well... i have! This one!!! It's not what you're thinking though, well, maybe in part but you don't know how close i came to PM'ing her anyway just to cuss her out!!! I mean OMG what the hey?!?!?! The end.... AGAIN!!!! OMG!!! bahahahaha
But seriously though.... Every curse word you can think of was spewed outta my mouth!!
Book 2 in the Elite Kings Club series....
This one starts up where Silver Swan left off. Who is she? Who can she trust? Who's going to try and kill her? Where can she go? Can she survive? Questions questions questions... more questions... theeeen moooree!!! A few answers... but more add on questions...
I know you must be thinking what's she rambling on about? Well... I don't wanna give any spoilers because you have just got to read this book!!!! Plus... I'm not sure of anything anymore.... This book is giving me serious trust issues! I was reading it thinking... I have no clues as to what is going on but i LOVE it!!!!
Some questions from Silver Swan were answered but OMG the twists and turns, the ups and downs, the lies and deception, the stomach clinchers, the sick feeling, the sweaty hot awesome lovin, the sweet and tender, the hard and rough, the worries and tension, the gore and murders, i mean these guys throw around death threats like it's going out of fashion, and they mean it!!! And the bleedin questions!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I'm so excited by this series. It's unique and wonderfully written. It takes you right along with the storyline. I mean you are there right along with Madison i feel like my head is going to explode!!
Madison is a fantastic character that you can't help but cheer on. I want her to find the answers! I feel her frustration. She keep's getting knocked down time and time again but she gets right the hell back up again! She's so resilient! This book shows a more tougher, angrier side to her. I think her innocence was well and truly lost for good in Silver Swan but some of her actions prove how far she's come in this book and if she doesn't become the head of the Elite Kings by the end there's something seriously wrong in the book world!!!
Bishop. Her love/enemy is the most confusing character you're ever likely to meet. His issues are way deep in his dark soul but do i love him... nope hate him... nope love him... noooo.... hate him.... ummm he's hot... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't know!! Don't care! He's awesome!! lol
I still have a little soft spot for Nate and i loved how in his own twisted way he had Madison's back in an over-familiar brotherly way.
We also find out more about Brantley... it's pitch black in that area so be aware!! I'm feeling all kinds of churned up about him.
Madison's past really shouldn't have surprised me, but, it really did. It made me feel sick if I'm honest but i thought it was a fantastic twist in the plot.
I will give a little tip that i wished i had done. Please read Silver Swan again before you read this. I think it needs to be fresh in your head so you can handle the twists and turns.
This is not a fluffy easy read. This is a book that needs your full concentration and undivided attention so pay it!! lol
I can't gush a big enough pool to rave about this book. Brilliant!! Awesome!! Fantastic read!!!
