Kissing Madeline (Dearest Book 3) Kindle Edition
What’s the worst thing about wanting a sexy NFL football player? Everyone else wants him, too.
After catching my boyfriend getting deep-throated by a cage girl, I’ve learned my lesson – never date a professional athlete. Besides, I have more important things to worry about, like not blowing my shot to make it as a broadcast reporter. I won’t let anything get in my way, not even the new “it boy” of the NFL and my hot-as-hellneighbor.
What's the worst thing about getting death glares from his new neighbor? It doesn't make him want her any less.
I’ve worked my ass off to make it to the pros. The last thing I need is the complication of a relationship, especially since my last one was a total train wreck. But I can’t stop thinking about the feisty girl next door with the smart mouth. And I’d love nothing more than to show her what to do with that mouth.
Friends with benefits might be the best idea he’s ever had. Or the worst.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 May 2015What can I say amazing, brilliant just doesn't do the book justice. In fact the whole series is a roller coaster of emotions and each book blends seamlessly with the next. They are so well written and in a style I really love. I can definitely and highly recommend that you 1 click now, after all you would be foolish not too and I know you aren't !!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 May 2015The third novel in Lex Martin's Dearest series, Kissing Madeline is a enjoyable addition featuring a couple who endear themselves quickly. If, like me, you appreciated Gavin and Jax then fear not, you will Daren.
"Just friends...really good friends."
The storyline is one that has been done numerous times before; the NFL Quarterback and the hurt heroine. And to a degree, Madeline and Daren's journey does have a predictability about it and at times is a little clichéd. BUT, what it lacks in originality is compensated for by the characters; both Daren and Maddie were loveable, strong, mature individuals with a superb chemistry both in and out of the bedroom.
"I don't want to get attached to you."
"Just don't hurt me."
"I was about to tell you the same thing."
Granted I found it a little steady reading during the first half, but when things move on and a sprinkle of drama was added into the mix, it became what I was hoping for and it mattered not that I sussed out where the story was heading. And with a wonderful epilogue tying up the series it couldn't have ended more perfect. Each couple has been sweet, sexy and has brought some emotion with them and whilst Kissing Madeline could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Dearest Clementine and Finding Dandelion also.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2015Lex Martin manages to bridge the gap between New Adult and Contemporary in a way I find appealing and effortless. I've enjoyed every book in the series so far and Kissing Madeline is the winning hat trick of her trio of Dearest novels.
Daren and Madeline are characters that have been introduced in Dearest Clementine and although their roles were minor, the impact was greater. It's a great welcome to see them return but it's in KM that we really see them come into their own.
From the little known about Daren previously, I knew enough to know he'd have to work his little socks off to change my opinion of him and I was curious to see how Lex would do that. Turns out I needn't have worried as she achieves it by page 2.
Neither Daren or Maddie are strangers to sacrifice and discipline, in their careers they strive to be at the top of their game. Their respective love lives however are in the relegation zone. Walking in on her MMA fighter boyfriend and the cage girl sees Maddie swear off athletes and focus on her career as an on air reporter. Something Daren is also doing, his near miss with his trifling hoe of an ex girlfriend means he's not interested in pursuing anything that will distract him from making his mark in the NFL. Until their careers collide.
Filling in on a sports segment means Maddie gets a whole lot closer to quarter back Daren than she ever wanted too. The onscreen chemistry is undeniable and eventually spills over to their personal lives. Due to the nature of her job and the fear of any conflict of interest they agree to keep it casual and out of the public eye.
I didn't get the same sense of intensity from their personal stories as I did from the characters in the previous books but it certainly made up for it in its suspense and steam.
With a winning touchdown of epilogues it's the perfect end to a wonderful series. KM was one of my most anticipated reads of 2015 and Lex Martin certainly delivered for me on that front.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 April 2015This is the third in the series, but it stands alone and is complete in itself.
This is the friends with benefits that becomes more plot, but the lively banter and sizzling chemistry made this a better than usual example of that kind of story. She's an ambitious rookie broadcast reporter, he's an NFL sports star so they have to date in secret to avoid any appearance of partiality which was also a fresh touch. I wasn't so convinced about the drama; the breadcrumbs there were so huge I saw that drama coming up a mile off and I struggled to believe Madeline wouldn't have had her suspicions aroused either, but the rest of their story was so enjoyable, it didn't spoil it, just made me roll my eyes a little at her naivety.
That said, this was an engaging read with a well paced love story and hot smut. Definitely worth a read if that's your thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect summer read!
First of all I want to say that I love the whole Dearest Series and I just can't decide which one I liked best. The author created very nice caracters and it was exciting to follow their thoughts and actions. What I enjoyed most was that every book could be read as a standalone, but if you read all of them you already know the main caracters. This made it easy to follow and I liked to see how things turned out for Clem and Dani. Only negative thing I have to say is that at some points the story was predictable - but nevertheless it was a fun read!

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST SERIES EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lex Martin has done it again!
Kissing Madeline is written in first person point of view in the present tense and that really gives the reader a very personal and strong bond with the character.
Madeline is an admirable character. She's focused, determined, and independent. And by the excellent way Lex Martin described Maddie (and by the title cover) SHE'S EFFING GORGEOUS!!! <333
Maddie hasn't had an easy life. But then again, who has in the Dearest series? Her father died a hero when he was in high school and she had a stupid MMA junkie boyfriend who cheated on her. That said, she has a hard time trusting men and has put everything she has into her job.
Daren, who I totally hated since I've read Dearest Clementine, turned out to be a total sweetheart and I started to like the guy. And soon enough I found myself rooting for him to be with Maddie.... even though I'm totally in love with Maddie. He's an elite athlete who is a total badass and surprisingly respectful considering what I thought him to be. I was a little hesitant to read this book because it was about Daren and I hated him. But by reading this book, it made me realize that you never know one's whole story and that one mistake doesn't define you. Lesson learned, Lex Martin.
The romance... HOLY CRAP. Lex Martin straddles the line between erotica and sexy romance. It's endearing and sweet yet so sinfully sexy that made me jealous of Daren for having such a babe like Maddie. Maddie can be bold and sexy, hence the nickname Wildcat. And I love that about her. She's so cute and innocent in public (but also has a bitch side to her and extremely determined and smart) and a total demoness in bed. *drool*
The creative and descriptive writing is off-the-charts good! And the style of writing is expert in merit. You know one of those books where you read and you're left with a HUGE book hangover from how awesome it was? Yeah, that's me after reading any one of the books in the series.
And again, just like the past two books, the book may have romance and it might play a big part in it, but the conflict isn't the romance itself. The external conflict is the constant battle between their love and their jobs. They either love each other and risk losing their jobs, or let go of the one person who makes them FEEL like they are absolutely perfect and everything is right with the world. The internal conflicts is the reluctance to trust. The reluctance to admit their love for each other. And the reluctance to give up their hearts to the one person they care about.
This kind of angst is one that any reader can relate to and it makes everything so much more powerful.
Now again as there always is in every book in this series, there is falling action that reassures the reader that everything will be okay. Who says that happily ever after doesn't exist? Just like me, Lex Martin is a big believer in that. High five, Lex! *clap* And the ending is super sweet, that I stopped being a total manly macho guy and almost cried like a girl from the endearing love and romance. Only Lex Martin can do that.
There is literally no more to say about this book except that it is absolutely one of my favorites and that I will be buying this again in paperback to keep in my physical library because I only keep the really good ones in physical form and ebook as a copy. Just wow. BESST BOOK EVARR!!!!
Congratulations Lex Martin, you've done it again. You've written a damn good book.
FIVE FREAKING STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Five AH-MAZING stars!!
I just adore Lex Martin's style and the third book in the Dearest series did not disappoint! This book is witty, funny and sexy - all the things I love to read in a book. Once again the characters and their story had my heart fluttering and aching at different stages of the book. I love it when a book does that to me. I can't wait for Brady's story next.
